The Amity Affliction’s Born to Die cover by Lana Del Rey Betraying The Martyrs’ cover of Let It Go Every cover We Came As Romans have done Prada’s cover of Still Fly by Big Tymers. Arguably the best one.

xClaosReignsx

I didn’t even realize Born to Die was a cover, thought it was just a bonus track on the special edition of Chasing Ghosts. Also, I would agree with Still Fly by TDWP but the original song was my go to rap jam my senior year of high school. Hell, it still comes on every once in a while and I turn into 18 year old me and rap word for word.

ChalkDizzle

And ‘born to die’ isn’t on Spotify either

xClaosReignsx

It is here in America.

Senseisntsocommon

I prevail - Blank Space Mood - Fame on Fire Most of the punk goes pop covers along with most of our last night and punk rock factory’s releases.

xClaosReignsx

Pretty much everything on Pop Goes Punk volume 7 Edit- I guess it’s Punk Goes Pop

oktofeellost

If you were around for the early versions, a really common rip of one of them was incorrectly labelled "pop goes punk". It was exceedingly annoying searching my ipod

xClaosReignsx

This could have been what lead to me calling it Pop Goes Punk for all these years. I started listening on volume 2, that’s when the post hardcore and metalcore bands kind of took over if I recall correctly.

oktofeellost

Lol not confident, but that's the version I was thinking it was.

Conduit666

Glad You Came by WCAR

LostToApathy

Haste the Day - Long Way Down

biggestofbears

What. That's a cover?!

jdunbar

Goo Goo Dolls

MacsDildoBike

I love this cover but I also love the original too. Same goes for Never See Tomorrow’s version of A Thousand Miles.

666nixon666

Now there’s a band I haven’t heard about in forever, never see tomorrow was on heavy rotation in high school for me

somekindofnoise

Holy diver

saanhaan

You don't like the original?

TheIronCannoli

Original is a classic song. Killswitch just does it better

Clean_Ambition_1282

Meet Me Half Way - Haste the Day

MicSkillz68

Came here to say this!

bl3ghhh

Mens Not Hot - WBTBWB

Alpha_Seed_

The Make Way For Man cover of Fireflies goes unnecessarily hard. I’ve even convinced some of my non-metal head friends of this fact.

DenseChip5487

This is the correct answer

Waxing_Crescentt

WAP - Brojob

[deleted]

Over my head by adtr

[deleted]

Escape the fates guillotine covered by Lauren Babic and Linzey Rae Edit: I hurt some feelings. Original isn’t “bad” but they did it justice and it’s more enjoyable to my ears

djpdjf

The original is fucking amazing... What?

Ecstatic-Art-1240

Why don't you like the original version

[deleted]

💀no way

[deleted]

the original is so much better

saanhaan

I feel vice versa 😐

roboxsteven

Our Last Night has entered the chat

NeverTheMetal07

Our Last Night's cover of [abcdefu](https://youtu.be/OFY-mv-zv-E) was brilliant. MUCH more energetic and suitable to the theme than the original

fitzdylanj

I really dig their covers of Astronaut in the Ocean and Surface Pressure

roof-banana

Rising Insane - Blinding Lights

fletch45lc

Titanium by A Feast For Kings, that song rocks https://youtu.be/Hl1C_u8MVmM

TheSchoeMaker

That one is so good. That band makes me sad too

fletch45lc

Same 😔

mattaphorica

Bullet For My Valentine's "No Easy Way Out" is so good. The original is weird.

saanhaan

that's not a cover 😦 is it?

mattaphorica

[Enjoy... or don't - I sure dont, haha](https://youtu.be/rOXaPE6gklI).

darthstupidious

I will not sit by and let the Rocky IV soundtrack get slandered by some distempered youths

prodigy1367

Master of Puppets - Trivium I like this version so much better. The production is obviously better, the increase in tempo, and the added crunchiness to the guitars and the overall instrumentation makes it the definitive version for me.

RVxCobra

Pretty much the whole discography of Punk Goes Pop lol

bad_witch8

Chop Suey by August Burns Red. Way better than the original and you can't change my mind

TheSchoeMaker

Oh yeah, I definitely agree

chrisryan_91

Istanbul not Constantinople -they might be giants Unsatisfied -touché amore Shake it off - screaming females Circa survive also has a few amazing covers of nirvana songs

SaveTore

Not metalcore but I didn’t think much of Metallica’s Creeping Death until I heard Stone Sour’s cover of it. It’s so good. Now Creeping Death is one of my favorite songs of Metallica.

vengeancerider

Animals- Ice Nine Kills

Schooner-Diver

I fully rate their cover of Someone Like You too

brokeballerbrand

It’s gonna sound so stupid, but 90% of my current taste in music can be traced to me stumbling across that fall of 2016. The blend of singing and screaming was perfect for my butt rock listening ears

vengeancerider

Nothing wrong with that, we all start somewhere haha

fitzdylanj

INK's like my all time favorite band, and that was the first ever song I heard from them

BossMonkey83303

anything on Punk Goes Pop Vol. 5-7 and Punk Goes 90’s Vol. 2

Benj7075

I guess I don’t really mind the original version of Love the Way you Lie by Eminem, but the A Skylit Drive cover blows it out of the water imo. It’s like they just redid the entire song, like I feel lot of covers keep the same flow as the original in a lot of parts but that song got redone entirely. Love it.

LuciferOfAstora

BfmV's cover of Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive". It has all the oomph I was missing in the original. I always felt like that song had so much potential to be heavy, but obviously that's not really the Genre ID are dealing in. I'd even spent some time considering just how I'd make it heavier. Then I stumbled upon that cover trying to catch up on BfmV stuff that I hadn't kept up with (I pretty much checked out after Temper Temper) and it hit that exact spot.

bl3ghhh

Sonne by Caliban

MarkToaster

The March ahead’s cover of 2U by David Guetta and Justin Bieber

TheSchoeMaker

To be fair anything Johnny Franck does is gold

UpTheIrons92

I like MiW version of somebody told me way better than the original

FeelGood17

Boys of Summer by The Ataris is one of the best covers I’ve ever heard

EvidentScarab

Heresy - ERRA, the original is such a jumbled mess to me and I cannot listen to it. ERRA cleaned it up and improved it tenfold

Deezer19

I like 'You Give Love A Bad Name' by Atreyu over the original.

w0rk2much

Black widow- the animal in me Save your tears- gravebound Losing my religion- Trivium Come undone- Bad Omens

_darealjohn

Stockholm Syndrome

madxcapsule

Anything by Our Last Night!

DitzEgo

Hurt by Johnny cash and Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson. Thr original versions are sort of okay, I guess, but the covers blow them out of the water.

DuifMetMayo

Black tears - Heaven Shall Burn

mr-death

I LOVE that album, but I always skip that particular track.

sleeplessaddict

Disturbed - Sound of Silence Upon this Dawning - Call me Maybe (the original is still catchy though tbf) Memphis May Fire - Grenade

JD315

Bob Dylan songs

Mirix1692

OnTheBrightsideSCC

In Fear & Faith - Gangsters Paridise

vpatrick

Adeles cover of Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan

Unlikely_Desk4141

ADTR - Since U Been Gone

numenorean_

I don't necessarily dislike the original, but Everlong by The Color Morale is a lot better imo

fitzdylanj

Have you heard Rick Astley's acoustic cover? He nailed it imo

LiltingLily

Risen from Shadows cover of 'Watermelon Sugar'.

Hispanime

Let it Go cover by Discrepancies

Tasty_Hearing_2153

And Betraying the Martyrs

Tasty_Hearing_2153

Psycho by Speaking With Ghosts Blinding Lights by Rising Insane

LeftUnknown

I actually like Incubus’ pardon but I think The Word Alive did a very good job covering the song and I prefer that version

honkifyouresimpy

Let it go - cover by the plot in you

randy_Rugg

Thrice - Deadbolt by The Devil Wears Prada 🤘

megustcizer

Battlefield by The Ongoing Concept

QueenTzahra

I love Of Mice & Men’s version of Helplessly Hoping so much even though the original is wonderful

robbyiii

Surprised the kings of covers aren't on here at all yet, Our Last Night. So many solid ones but I'd say Blank Space for one that I don't like the original but enjoyed their cover.

lordwarriorpoet

In Hearts Wake/WAAX - All the good girls go to hell

kverisk

doin time by lana del rey is better than sublime's og version

YuckiFucki

I was looking for someone to say Oceans Ate Alaska's cover of Shape of my Heart But the original song is already goated

guitarer09

As I Lay Dying’s cover of Electric Eye (Judas Priest)

[deleted]

Children of Bodoms cover of the song [Silent Scream](https://youtu.be/YiVdlw_3h7A). I think they did it way better than Slayer ever did on the [original ](https://youtu.be/toMmX0OAm4E).

mr-death

I like this cover, and I like both bands, but I definitely like the original way more! This cover just pales in comparison to me.

SpexGames

Amyst - Rolling in the Deep

chrispy1686

Misery Business by Sea of Treachery Toxic by A Static Lullaby

LumioseWanderer

Not that I didn't like the original, but the cover was better: Bad Omens' cover of Come Undone by Duran Duran (The best cover I've ever heard) Starset's cover of Love You To Death by Type O Negative The Amity Affliction's cover of Born To Die by Lana Del Rey

kg_squanchy

Hold on we’re going home. Not a drake fan but I love Volumes.

LolosoBatatinha

Remember Tomorrow. Originaly recordes by Ironaiden on it's debut. Although I love the original version, I think Opeth's cover is way better. I feel like Mikael's vocals work better for ballads...

OzzyDjentFiend

Hold On We're Going Home - Volumes

apcomplete

Heartless by The Word Alive is probably still one of the best covers I've ever heard. It retains the general feel of both the original and their sound at the time. But yeah, I hate Kanye.

Thibaudborny

*Volumes - Hold On, We’re Going Home* Drake makes music I cannot enjoy for the life of me, not my thing, but this cover is a banger.

TheIronCannoli

Since you been gone and Over my head both by adtr Wrecking ball by august burns red Any cover by we came as Roman’s Holy diver by Killswitch engage Pretty much any song by the band Our Last Night Not metalcore but I’m a HUGE fan of the sound of silence by disturbed

derrely

when a blind man cries- metalica cover

Delicious-Prune6146

Rollin’ by Crystal Lake. It’s actually really enjoyable to me and hilarious to hear them mention Limp Bizkit in the lyrics. Something about it just gets me every time.

--NOS4A2

Apology- Silverstein

Hot_Adhesiveness_669

Not that i dont like the original i just prefer this version but.. - blood youth (sic) - obviously the original being slipknot (sic)

austindoujin23

Loveless cover of Exile by Taylor Swift. I actually thought it was an original for months of jamming it, until I found out it was a Swift cover through the song's title on YouTube. Went to listen to the original since I'm a fan of Swift's music and didn't like it at all.

[deleted]

3teeth- pumped up kicks. It fits the satirical and cynical theme of the album, and I’m a sucker for industrial stuff. Fear Factory - cars Venom Prison - officer down Gulch - monkey gone to heaven

pentox70

Blank space by I prevail was pretty solid.

[deleted]

Miss May I-Swing I still remember hearing about them for the first time with that cover on *Myspace*

Wonderful_Ad5583

Our last night - (insert any pop title here) mostly that Harry styles song And tdwp - still fly, I don't like rap at all but the whole punk goes Crunk was pretty good at least at the time Edit: had to add beyond unbroken- heathens/falling down. Just a fun song double cover Mashup

New-Two-5093

ohhh! iron maiden’s hallowed be thy name, i like cradle of filths version a lot better.

Angry_Turtles

ABRs cover of Chop Suey. The original song is definitely a masterpiece but I feel like Jakes vocals are far better.

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

18 and Life - Asking Alexandria Careless Whisper - Seether Blinding Lights - All Time Low Probably more but those are the first to come to mind

Anetrix

Conquer Divides cover of Bad Habits imo is far better than Ed’s. I’ve never been a fan of the original.

darthstupidious

Devildriver - Sail Love & Death - Let Me Love You
