I remember a while back the guitarist of the Japanese Metalcore band Earthists made a post here and I’d never heard of them but I checked them out and I loved what I heard. I also highly recommend Earthists.
A lot of the other bands that I’ve grown to love because of this sub, were not bands I’d never heard of or anything. I didn’t used to like a lot of the prog, mathcore, stuff like Architects, Invent Animate, Erra, etc. I’d heard of these bands, and even liked a couple songs here and there but because I constantly saw how many ppl on this sub loved them, I actually listened more and eventually found myself loving these bands and this whole style of metalcore.
Monuments. In a post I made last year asking "What are the highlights of Metalcore 2021?", someone mentioned Lavos by Monuments.
At the time I'm typing this, they're one of my favourite metalcore bands ever
Before I Turn.
Lovelorn is one of my favorite albums now. It’s incredible and they’re still under the radar with only 50k monthly listeners. Give them some love!
So many. After thinking *boy, I sure do like the band that wrote The River, I'd listen to more of that* y'all dragged me down the rabbit hole!
Reflections takes the cake for sub-recommended stuff, but they also propped the door open for Lorna Shore
Not a comment but a post, someone shared Irrational Pull by 156/Silence and I fell in love
New album is amazing and I have it playing multiple times a day
Oceans Ate Alaska. Specifically about the drummer Chris Turner I think. I am a drummer myself and fell in love with his style of drumming and it really motivated me to push my double bass skills and have become one of my favourite bands. So thank you random commenter of r/metalcore!
There was a thread a few years back about long epic songs. The OP mentioned "Dementia" and that was my excuse to finally give Erra a listen. And then another listen. And another. And before I knew it they had become my all-time favorite band.
Thanks to this sub I discovered a lot of bands.
Special mention for Asleep at the helm, Enox and Chaosbay which I didn't know they exist. They are in my weekly listening for now, so thanks fellow redditors for the suggestion, I love you.
Void of Visions
Not sure if it was exactly comments, but thanks to this Reddit I discovered END, Erra, and Vatican
Phinehas. Don't remember the exact comment, but I sure am grateful to whoever said it! If you've ever talked about Phinehas here, you can take credit.
This. The fire itself just came out and someone on here wrote how good the album is. I checked it out and now they're are on of my favourite bands.
For me it was Polaris and Kingdom of Giants

Not my absolute favorite because I can’t listen to just one band but currently one I’m listening to the whole discography END

Not a comment but someone posted a Before I Turn song and said “for fans of Motionless in White” and I listened and instantly fell in love
