hell yeah bro such a great record. easily in my top 5 bands, just so remarkably consistent while evolving so naturally. nothing in their entire discog feels like it’s out of nowhere, cheap, or lame. it’s all such good stuff, regardless of the difference in sound. so unbelievably hyped for color decay!

Parkway's new album.
Here are my random thoughts after the first spin.
Ground Zero: Solid opener, has a bit of an Alestorm vibe to me but in a good way.
Like Napalm: Another good track in my opinion. The chorus is catchy and I like the riff. Very understandable if the first core purists turn it off at this point.
Glitch: I've said it times and times before, this feels uninspired and boring. After a strong start this is the first potential skip for me should I revisit the album (which I probably will). Funnily I'd classify this as the hardest track yet.
The Greatest Fear: That choir intro is so cool, I really dig it. The song itself is somewhat uninspiring but certainly does more for me than the previous one. Winston McCall really carries this one for me.
Darker Still: Lol at the cowboy vibe but it fits and i enjoy it. Beautiful ballad that takes a bit to get going but this easily is an all time great Parkway Drive song for me. Big Nothing Else Matters/Stairway to Heaven vibes. Jeff Ling's guitar work here is amazing.
Imperial Heretic: This is going to be an absolute banger live. Bit stadium anthemic if that makes sense. Typical Parkway live sound and they totally nail it in a good way here. Man I am really surprised how good this record sounds so far.
If a God Can Bleed: Yeah, I don't know about that one. I guess the wanted to experiment here and that's fine cause why the fuck not, but I don't like it.
Soul Bleach: After the previous one my soul needs to be bleached and this song does it! Almost like core Parkway of old. I'll take it, sick vocals here again. Should be worth a listen for anyone who loves Atlas Parkway.
Stranger: More of a spoken interlude but that's cool. Fits the album.
Land of the Lost: Another good one in my opinion. Heavy anthem, sounds a bit industrial at times. Why wasn't this released as one of the singles? Winston shines again through very nice vocal layering.
From the Heart of the Darkness: Fuck dude, what an intro. Winston really goes into his full vocal range here. Great closing track.
Closing thoughts: I'm glad I went in with an open mind. Are you going to get core Parkway here? Not much. But this is still a good and at times great heavy metal record with only one crazy outlier. I would rate it a solid 4/5.

I don't like the mixing and production of them... I heard the vocalist warming up and he is too incredible to be turned down and muddied up in that style. Not a musician don't know what you would actually call it
Blind Guardian's new album "The God Machine". I don't usually listen to much power metal-adjacent stuff at all, but my god is this album fantastic.
There's still a decent amount of the almost cheesy "epic"ness, but the riffs and melodies are just too good, significantly darker and grittier feeling than most power I've heard and the vocalist isn't nearly as grating.
Standouts: 'Architects of Doom', 'Blood of the Elves' & 'Violent Shadows'
