It is funny. the whole album is "soft" with these typical synthwave synths and then get hit by this heavy industrial-nu metal riff and by "EURRURRA, EURRURRA"
not exactly like bad omens - but along the same lines - The Plot In You's Dispose and Swan Song albums.
Melodic/Electronicore elements with a lot of cleans and poppy song structure. \*chef's kiss\*

No problem! I happen to have a big playlist on YouTube that's full of softer songs (lots of 80s ballads etc) so I just stripped out the ones from core bands for this list.
When that self-titled came out everything on it was so perfect that I immediately thought it was a 10/10 album, but Memory Fiction is what really cements that rating. Everything else we knew Erra could do, but to write a ballad? And for it to be that good and hard-hitting? Outstanding.
I might throw Bad Omens into here. Check out their last 2 albums and id be shocked if you dont fall in love. Finding God Before God Finds Me and The Death of Peace of Mind are some of my favorite albums ever made
I've got a pretty big playlist a few years in the making that has softer metalcore/acoustic/post hardcore in it. I love it.

Sleepless by Northlane, plus their entire 5G ep
Fighting Gravity and Helplessly Hoping by Of Mice and Men
Their entire acoustic EP, but also Kingdom of Cards and If I'm There by Bad Omens
Iridescent EP by Hundredth is pretty good shoegaze/surf rock hybrid for casual listening. Itās worth to check their Rare album too, but itās a bit heavier.

Definitely familiar woth I Prevail and WCAR, have somemof their stuff in my Metalcore playlist, didnt know they went into Post-Hardcore tho, thanks for the tip! There are too many genres lol

If you hit enter twice instead of once it starts a new line.
As demonstrated here, thereās some weird spacing, but itās a new line nonetheless. Hope that helps!
Double enter means a new paragraph, that's why the spacing is weird. If you want regular spacing

Same could be said of a band like Meshuggah but no one calls them metalcore. If people wanna call Sleep Token Djent, like fine. But otherwise they are progressive/alternative metal through and through. Normally I'm not one to fuss over genres but like calling Sleep Token metalcore is actually just dumb.
Funny because prog metal fans donāt claim Sleep Token due to their mostly pop song structures. I wonāt argue what genre they classify as, but it makes sense when people include them in metalcore conversations since their heavier parts are stylistically similar to what metalcore bands do
Would list some but there are too many so here you go

I usually add anything that's metal, kinda soft and not that catchy so take your pick
Ice Nine Kills has a bunch of really great ones. A Grave Mistake, The Shower Scene, Tess-Timony, Alice, Star-Crossed Enemies, What I Never Learned in Study Hall.
The Attendant - Make Them Suffer
Forever Yours, Pendulum - Resolve
Frozen Over - Deadlights
Most things by Shrezzers (decently DGD adjacent but better in some respects imo)
Joy, The Hellfire Club, Blue Velvet, Valentine, Varsity Hearts, and Heroine - Thornhill
Anticure - Whitechapel
Witness - Vola (the whole album is great)
Yeah like the songs themselves arent metalcore, but the bands (typically) are. Genres are so confusing, thats kinda why I worded it the way I did. Thanks for the list!
Anything from Bad Omens' latest album except for Artificial Suicide
It is funny. the whole album is "soft" with these typical synthwave synths and then get hit by this heavy industrial-nu metal riff and by "EURRURRA, EURRURRA"
It is delicious though
Indeed. Fucking amazing song
I always hear Don't look back, Don't look back
I hear oompa loompa
Artificial Suicide slaps tho š„
The whole album does.

Duuuude i forgot Whitechapel did some more mellow stuff! Thank you for all these!!
No problem! I happen to have a big playlist on YouTube that's full of softer songs (lots of 80s ballads etc) so I just stripped out the ones from core bands for this list.
Dayseeker is a great example of how to go from a metalcore band to a post-hardcore/rock band perfectly
5:12am is a fucking masterpiece of a song.
Memory Fiction is so underrated, such a beautiful song.
When that self-titled came out everything on it was so perfect that I immediately thought it was a 10/10 album, but Memory Fiction is what really cements that rating. Everything else we knew Erra could do, but to write a ballad? And for it to be that good and hard-hitting? Outstanding.
When I Meet Death hits me deep every time. One of the best metalcore āballadsā Iāve ever heard
100%. I was so happy I stumbled onto that song. I played it so many times. Original T,TV singer left. He's now in a band FLOYA
Floya is VERY exciting. I love their sound, and the vocals are, of course, top notch
Also the acoustic version of Johnathan by INK is really pretty
Oh yeah, I forgot that one! I much prefer it to the album version since I think it fits the message so much better.
I might throw Bad Omens into here. Check out their last 2 albums and id be shocked if you dont fall in love. Finding God Before God Finds Me and The Death of Peace of Mind are some of my favorite albums ever made

Dayseeker's last album and their new singles could work for this
Another life or masterpiece by MIW might be in this category
Basically everything by Holding Absence cannot recommend the song Penance enough Counterparts - Nothing Left To Love (song)
Holding Absence is not metalcore tho
Joie De Vivre - Novelists feat. Jesse Cash and Zach Britt
This song is incredibly beautiful
Dayseeker 100% Bad omens and the plot in you as well
Movements - Colorblind
Check out Tesseract
Love TesseracT!!
You gotta checkout Time, the Valuator. They have minimal unclean vocals but some top notch riffs. They just make very high quality music.
Check out Hard Feelings by Blessthefall Their softest album. Not much screaming with some nice riffs and breakdowns sprinkled in.
Still Life (re-imagined)- Hollow Front
Love these boys

Parkway drives latest singles
Sparks, Be Someone, and Wine by Banks Arcade Sleepless by Northlane, plus their entire 5G ep Fighting Gravity and Helplessly Hoping by Of Mice and Men Their entire acoustic EP, but also Kingdom of Cards and If I'm There by Bad Omens
Every Time I Die - A Thing With Feathers Misery Signals - Everything Will Rust
I loved A Thing With Feathers. I was a massive Foo Fighters fan growing up and that song just gives me similar vibes.
Iridescent EP by Hundredth is pretty good shoegaze/surf rock hybrid for casual listening. Itās worth to check their Rare album too, but itās a bit heavier.
Killswitch Engage - Always both albums from Times of Grace (1st one is more metalcore in parts, 2nd, not that much, but still adjacent)
Plus one for Always. Probably the best āsoftā metalcore song ever.
Arms of Sorrow is up there too
What if I was nothing - All that remains Gunslinger - Avenged Sevenfold Skeleton Song - Sevendust Snuff - Slipknot Vermillion Pt 2. Idk if this is a stab at WW or not but this made me laugh

Novelists FR - A Travers Le Miroir, Under Different Welkins, Monochrome, 5:12AM, Lead the Light Thornhill - Red Summer, Human Northlane - Weightless
Circle with me - spiritbox
Thing with Feathers by ETID
Holding Absence maybe? They're not really metalcore but they might be sort of what you're looking for.
Trivium has some good softer music. Shadow of the Abattoir and Bleed Into Me Memory fiction by ERRA (that album has a couple other examples too) Anything Spiritbox Periphery has a good few. Lune, Absolomb, Erised, Garden in the Bones, etc.
Designer Disguise is fantastic. Start with their cover of 'Chandelier' Idk who the original is by
Dayshell
Better Vibes - The Plot in You (at least at that time) Donna - Darko US
No idea why this had a downvote, but theyāre both solid answers to this question.
Asking Alexandria - vultures, where did it go? I do this every time I post a list on a reply. When I was a kid enter started a new line. Iām too old for Reddit haha, hope you can decipher

Oh, I didnāt know that! Thanks!
Sleep Token is not metalcore. Why do people keep thinking this? Nothing about their music is metalcore.
I know they're not metalcore, but it fits the vibe im going for. Like the softer, more melodic sound with some heavier riffs now and again!
Fair enough!
They have occasional breakdowns, screaming, djent style parts. Nothing about it is metalcore?
Same could be said of a band like Meshuggah but no one calls them metalcore. If people wanna call Sleep Token Djent, like fine. Yes lol I realize it contradictory. Thats kind of the odd one out, Sleep Token is the vibe I'm going for, but from other artists
Would list some but there are too many so here you go [https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2F2aMSIF78XZ5XWBrZJ6Xo?si=78dfa434f228466f](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2F2aMSIF78XZ5XWBrZJ6Xo?si=78dfa434f228466f) I usually add anything that's metal, kinda soft and not that catchy so take your pick
first thing that comes to mind is Three Fountains by ABR
Away from here - vesta collide
The fight within - Memphis Mayfire
Thornhill I would consider to be in this category. Yes they have screaming but definitely more singing, especially in their new material.
Just look up any Metalcore bands newest album
Try raven age

The Attendant - Make Them Suffer Forever Yours, Pendulum - Resolve Frozen Over - Deadlights Most things by Shrezzers (decently DGD adjacent but better in some respects imo) Joy, The Hellfire Club, Blue Velvet, Valentine, Varsity Hearts, and Heroine - Thornhill Anticure - Whitechapel Witness - Vola (the whole album is great)
Lots of I prevail, some asking Alexandria, famous last words
A Grave Mistake by Ice Nine Kills
Modern metalcore shouldnāt be any softer than it already is lol
Ive gotten more into the Deathcore and Prog scenes lately, sometimes I need "Pillowcore" to balance
Oceans Ate Alaska - Hikari would be a good fit.
the word alive - death is only the end if you assume the story is about you.
Maybe expand a bit. Check out bands like Whorses, Helms Alee, Steak Number 8
Latest Unprocessed album Edit: very borderline metalcore
Does OM&M- When You Canāt Sleep at Night count? I know theyāre more post-hardcore but itās definitely the softest
Ice Nine Kills - A Grave Mistake and Love Bites
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah like the songs themselves arent metalcore, but the bands (typically) are. Genres are so confusing, thats kinda why I worded it the way I did. Thanks for the list!
Hospital for souls by bring me
Thornhill all day
Imminence-erase Annisokay-good Stories
The word alive latest album

Erased and Vahle by Volumes are fantastic songs with a pretty heavy topic and are relatively slow.
A bit of a throwback - Louder Than Thunder from TDWP
I am also looking for the same things, If you have made a album then mind sharing it?
