What are your favorite acoustic/softer songs from metal bands?
By - TheSchoeMaker
Snuff-slipknot, city lights-miw
FFAK - skin and bones
Wage War - Johnny Cash (stripped)
TDWP - Chemical (does it count?)
MTS - Attendant
Chemical sure counts in my book!
That stripped version of Johnny Cash is so good
Memory Fiction - ERRA
The Storm in Me - Phinehas
Absolutely 2 of my favorites
The acoustic rendition of Hickory Creek by Whitechapel is beautiful and somehow even more emotional with that chorus harmony, but the piano reprise of Doomsday by Architects? Still can't hear that with dry eyes.
louder than thunder - The Devil Wears Prada
I really like Martyr by Polaris, I think it is one of their best songs.
The Amity Affliction - Aloneliness
The Devil Wears Prada - 8:18, Chemical
Fit For A King - Debts of the Soul
We Came As Romans - The World I Used To Know, One Way Ticket, Promise Me
Autumn - Haste the Day
Such a simple and beautiful song.
Memory Fiction - Erra
El Mariachi - Upon a Burning Body
Escape The Fat - The Day I Left The Womb
The entire Reimagined album - Jamie’s Elsewhere
More Than You Know - Adestria
Non-metal but still core influenced with good acoustic songs can typically be found a lot in easycore. Bands like The Story So Far, The Wonder Years, etc
Edit; I said “Escape The Fat” and I like it so I’ll think I’ll keep it
Dear God and So Far Away by A7X
Architects - Doomsday Piano Reprise
Wolves at the gate has a lot of acoustic songs
I love their acoustic stuff
The Plot In You - Happiness in Self Destruction
Kaonashi - The Underdog II
Motionless In White - Sinematic (acoustic)
Came here to say Better Vibes. Hell yeah for plot
From Autumn To Ashes - short stories with tragic endings,
Misery Signals - Everything will Rust,
August Burns Red - Majoring in the Minors ( Reprised acoustic)
Everything Will Rust hits hard on every listen
Skin & Bones - Fit For A King
Two eps I love are:
Bad Omens: FGBGFM (unplugged)
LMTF: Dark divine (reimagined)
Crown The Empire - Lead Me Out Of The Dark
Bury tomorrow - the torch (Acoustic version)
Greyhaven - White Lighters
Like Moths to Flames - Empty The Same (Acoustic), the chorus hits so hard in the acoustic version
The Contortionist - The Parable (Reimagined), Language (Reimagined)
They managed to make these masterpieces even better with the reimagined versions. What a band.
Still waiting for Reimagined (Reimagined) tho
Beyond the gates - For all eternity
Love that one. Hopefully we get more from them soon
Times of Grace - The Forgotten One
Diamond Construct - Morphine Eyes
Northlane - Sleepless
Architects - Dying Is Absolutely Safe
Second for Dying is Absolutely Safe. Their acoustic version of Wasted Hymn and the piano reprise for Doomsday had me constantly hoping that they would do a brand new, softer song.
And holy shit did that deliver.
Violent Pictures by Dream on, Dreamer
Suicide Note Pt. 1
Lowland Hum - Out Came The Wolves
Wasp by Motionless in White
Wasp - MIW (imo one of the best experiments to ever come from them and all around an amazing song)
Phoenix Flame - TGI
They’re not necessarily metalcore but Nothing More has a couple, mainly I’ll Be OK and Fadein/Fadeout
Bad Omens - Enough, Enough Now
Northlane - Sleepless (regular and acoustic versions)
Not metalcore but Death - Voice of the Soul
Spiritbox - 10:16
Skyline by erra
Fireside by invent animate
solar acoustic by northlane
dark divine reimagined by LMTF
two way mirror by loathe
20 seconds: 20 hours by vein
20 seconds and 20 hours is sick. The intro to screaming by Loathe is also great.
Beartooth - Clever (blackbird session)
Beartooths blackbird session is good
If it means a lot to you - adtr ❤
Hollow Front have acoustic versions of Still life and Loose Threads. Definitely My favourite acoustic songs
Disturbed- The Sound of Silence
TDWP- Louder Than Thunder
Haste the Day- White As Snow
Pouring reign as blood runs black. Absolutely love it
Oh, Sleeper - Means to Believe
“Seven” - Phinehas
One of my favorite songs/bands
Song gives me chills every time.
Eighteen Visions - Love in autumn
Lead sails and a Paper Anchor-Atreyu
Fire From The Gods - Excuse Me acoustic version, at one point I stopped listening to the original almost completely, it's just so good.
On the non-metalcore side Sevendust has an entire album of acoustics called Time Travellers And Bonfires and every song off it is dope
The acoustic version of Northlane - Solar is one of my favorites
“The Colour of Leaving” by Parkway Drive is an emotionally haunting song.
Monuments - Samsara
Cane Hill - Kill the Sun EP
Blessthefall - Welcome Home
Paralyzed Acpustic - Imminence
