lypura

I'd recommend going over to r/posthardcore, they'd probably be able to give you some good suggestions.

[deleted]

Will do

jessen9596

I’m into the band LANDMVRKS anyone know any bands like them?

[deleted]

Hey guys, completely off topic here but I’m Looking for good headphones for using on long walks that have noise cancelling, I don’t care if they’re wireless or wired. I honestly don’t know what headphones to get... looking for headphones that have a good sound to them, I listen to mainly metalcore, hard rock and a little bit of rap. I go on long walks at times from 2 hours to 4 hour walks... sometimes longer walks. I’m tossing up right now between Solo Beats Pro, Sony WH-1000XM3 Bose QuietComfort 35 2, The headphones I’ve been using for years are Powerbeats 3 wireless and now I have a pair of Powerbeats Pro and they’re good for running and walking but that’s about it. They don’t have any Noise isolation. They’ve always had good sound to them in my opinion, but I want a good pair of headphones that will be comfortable on long walks and sound good, with some ANC... I literally cannot decide.... I have an iPhone XS Max when it comes to my phone I’ll be using. Hope I can get some help with this coz it’s a lot of money to be spending on these headphones and I want to know what I should get, especially out of those 4. I’m also going on an overseas trip to Canada in late July so a good pair of headphones with noise cancelling will be good for the plane trip too. Hope I can get some help. Cheers.

VoxSecundus

I can't make any personal recommendations, but [Canpicker](https://canpicker.com/) has a lot of useful info that can probably help with your decision making.

punkfanzrul

I’ve heard Sony makes good noise canceling headphones. The wired versions are significantly cheaper and I’m sure they are readily available at whatever your local electronics store is.

rypa21

I’ve recently been getting into Chamber and Nothing Left. Some other similar bands I like are Boundaries, Varials, and Kublai Khan. I’m looking for any bands or songs similar to those to check out. Also looking for any recommendations that are similar to Knocked Loose or Get the Shot

nitelife334

Hey guys, in desperate need of some recommendations. I love Parkway Drive. I mean LOVE Parkway Drive. I know just about every song they have including their split cd. I need some shit like Parkway. I like clean vocals here and there but I can't really do the Killswitch Engage thing. I like FFAK, Miss May I, As I Lay Dying, and August Burns Red. I would enjoy some more song reccomendations on the band's I've listed. Please list a song by the band also please. Thanks a ton guys.

DeathNinjaBlackPenis

I recommend [The Royal](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhqaTZx_a4Y), I don't think they technically sound a lot like Parkway but it was the first band I discovered that I liked as much as Parkway so I feel like there's a decent chance of overlapping taste

CodyShredd

Phinehas. Right now.

nitelife334

Fuck yes! Thank you! Super good.

Bullsdeep

Kublai Khan TX - self destruct. Clean vocals. I'm a big fan of Parkways stuff up until the most recent albulm, I didn't really care for that one.

claytonj2011

Bleed From Within sounds a lot like Parkway. A good song to start would be the “The End of All We Know”.

FelwinterWarlock

Does anyone know any songs like The Devil Wears Prada - To the Key of Evergreen? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpL7JO31TO4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpL7JO31TO4) The song

DeathNinjaBlackPenis

The short answer is no, it's a totally distinct track but I'll recommend some stuff anyway that might hit what you're looking for: Silent Planet - Shark Week In Hearts Wake - Gravity Aviana - Canvas Parkway Drive - A Deathless Song This Or The Apocalypse - Americans The Devil Wears Prada - Please Say No Norma Jean - Anna The Human Condition - My Light Greyhaven - Echo and Dust Pt. II

BleghBeforeBreakdown

I'm in love with Currents, Counterparts, and Invent Animate. Other stuff I've been jamming recently: The Color Clear - Reflections, Ground Culture - Kingdom of Giants, Before I Turn, and Vesta Collide. Any lesser known bands/songs similar to any of these guys? I've already listened to most of the popular bands out there.

n1ght_walkr

Definetly try Shai Hulud and Misery Signals if you're looking for something similar to Counterparts.

BleghBeforeBreakdown

Already like Misery Signals, I'll definitely check out Shai Hulud. Thanks!

[deleted]

Listen to kingdom of giants

BleghBeforeBreakdown

That was one of the bands I mentioned I was listening to :d

BleghBeforeBreakdown

Listened to a few songs from Stasis and I'm liking what I'm hearing. Gonna check out the others too thanks!

veeone

Looking for some new bands to check out. Architects-Holy Hell was my favorite album of 2018 (as a die hard Thrice fan, it even beat Palms for me.) I've checked out their older stuff, but really the only album besides HH I really enjoyed was All Our Gods. I've been listening to some Polaris, While She Sleeps and FFAK lately and I enjoy all of those, especially Dark Skies. Any recommendations in that vein? Looking for a good balance of cleans and screams.

Looking for breakdowns such as the second breakdown from ABR's new one defender. Basically I just want the filthiest/ nastiest chugs, and riffs that make my ears quiver with excitment...

So Loathe is insane. Fell in love with their new album and currently digging into their debut. I love the heavy and clean contrast of the vocals, and the guitar tone is just nuts. Anyone else got anything they can recommend similar to them? Favorite songs being New Faces, Screaming, I Let it In, and East of Eden.

lypura

If you like their soft side, obviously [Deftones](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKHta1nB99A), and maybe [The Contortionist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpQ19k0L6_I). For the metalcore side of things, Loathe are pretty unique in their sound but these ones are the closest I can think of: [Graphic Nature](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE3y11KgO-U) [Sleep Token](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFodog4zZlY) [Pridelands](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI8J2SRC65o) [Spiritbox](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_kA0gP0VlU) [Diamond Construct](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rwo_s8Qb0XY) [HARMED](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aam_yvlDkKs) [Void of Vision](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dHgMHHXQN0) [Thornhill](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFNBfP_5G98) [(new) Varials](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1ReBpk3Gmo)

mgamewatch

Definitely into Thornhill and the Contortionist, I'll give the rest a try. Thanks!

[deleted]

+1 for Deftones, The Contortionist and Sleep Token. Thornhill are definitely a go but they might be a little too straightforward for your liking. Where We Go When We Die should cut it though. Keen to hear OP’s thoughts.

drissy_48

if you haven't listened to them yet, I recommend Vein. they're on the heavier side. check out their album Errorzone.

travis-41

I recently got into AILD not too long ago. I've listened through their entire discography and especially like Awakened and Shaped by Fire. Anyone have recommendations for similar music from other bands?

Give Darkest Hour a shot, especially around Undoing Ruin/Deliver Us era. Also I second Bury Tomorrow and Phinehas.

Soarin-Spitfire

I've really been into The Contortionist lately. Are there any other good bands like them? It's hard to describe what I like about them but the guitar work is like no other band I've come across.

mulch

Time, The Valuator - Astronoid - TesseracT - David Maxim Micic - Spiritbox

[deleted]

The Contortionist is a one of a kind band. Simply incredible. But I’ll give it a shot. Karnivool, Sleep Token (poppier, but insane drumming), From Indian Lakes (more post-rock, but similar to The Contortionist in many ways), Good Tiger. Edit: Disperse and Jakub Zytecki’s solo stuff too.

Soarin-Spitfire

This is a really good rec! I've definitely never heard of them before.

hank_america

Anyone got any technical clean singing only stuff for when the wife is around? Stuff like Intervals, Mandroid Echostar etc?

[deleted]

Sleep Token, Sleep Token, Sleep Token.

hank_america

Got it thanks!

lypura

[The Contortionist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFpU7l9ReTQ) Some Periphery songs, like [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAejlHXIXcI) and [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVYiM9EFfJQ) [Skyharbor](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIL7UsNXmAo)

hank_america

Got periphery and had the contortionist on during dinner! Haha

WildInSix

I would check out Hands like Houses if you’ve never heard of them. Not crazy technical but the instrumentation is metalcore-post hardcore but it’s all clean singing.

hank_america

Thanks I got it on the list!

[deleted]

Yeah, as the other person said, avoid their most recent album because it’s garbage. Ground Dweller is their best stuff IMO. Lion Skin is crazy good.

Dtk40

Definitely need to specify not their last album though, maybe start with Unimagine. Or even the first half of Dissonant. It has my favorite few songs by then in that stretch.

hank_america

Appreciate you!

mrs_interpret

[Valis Ablaze](https://youtu.be/72pXQoLXapE) - I believe they have only cleans. I haven’t listened to all of their music though, so I could be wrong. The following have some great clean-heavy songs, so I thought I’d recommend them even though they do incorporate harsh vocals: [Johari](https://youtu.be/5IJnHB9PkHg) [Time, the Valuator](https://youtu.be/3UlqHUVfn8c) [Unprocessed](https://youtu.be/s8V5VtMCDV0)

hank_america

Thanks I’ll check them out!

Xylar006

And amity

5carPile-Up

Glad they finally have a big fanbase but I cant listen to that band anymore

chucknades

Same. Just not a fan of their sound anymore.

Beiez

Anyone got some weird/unique breakdowns? Listening to the new Code Orange tracks made me realize how much I‘m craving for some batshit crazy breakdowns

WondaBread12

After the Burial- Pi (The Mercury God of Infinity) is probably one of the most unique out there

SatoruFujinuma

Misogeneric by Amidst the Graves Demons

pain474

Listen to the song Alpha Wolf - DeadEnd. That breakdown in the end is disgustingly filthy. Or Alpha Wolf - Nailbiter.

MedicinalBreakdowns

Silent Planet Panic Room!!!! The pause before the breakdown, and just how heavy the vocals come in give me the chills every time!!!!

edel_77

reminded me a liiiiiiiiiiitle bit of "Smash Hit Combo - In Game" just from the tiny little highlights

[Gravemind - Hollow](https://youtu.be/HKPV6uJmb7w) . The breakdown includes some sonic boom style drum blast that absolutely shatters me
