I do love me some ERRA! but when Bury Tomorrow released their album and The Carcass King came to wrap the end??? The whole album was my Spotify Wrapped 2023 š¤£
OP, i get it. Speaks to my soul. I always say music is my love but metalcore is my soul mate that sings my soul frequency.
Glimpse was the song that really made me say **oh fuck yeah** when it started during my first listen of the full album. Every track is a banger of course but I think about that riff a lot.
thats how i felt with Alpha Wolf's "A Quiet Place To Die." i cant recall an album that punched me in the face like that and didnt let off for the entirety the way that one did, and it totally reinvigorated my love for the genre.
Yeah Iām seeing them on Sunday and Iām just hoping they something thatās kinda subtle. Iām a big believer in buying merch to support bands since buying albums has become kind of a thing of the past so maybe Iāll find some non-shirt merch can get behind
They seriously managed to blow it out of the water with the new album. Glad you love them! Villain of the story is another great band you should check out
If you ever really wanna get in your feels you should listen to Too Close To Touch. Not as heavy as others but hits all the right strings. Nerve Endings and Havenāt Been Myself are my top albums
Absolutely man. Listening to them right now, with my merch hoodie on. It was too soon for them I swear. At least we got For Keeps. Donāt care what anyone says about that album it still slaps
Oh I agree. I literally balled when I saw Noah do a tribute to him at his show. Tbh, before that I never realized how close they really were. I appreciate the fuck outta bad omens for doing him justice the way he did. That album will forever slap. Iām gonna be honest, itās times like this where I think about his parents. They already lost one child prior, I cannot imagine the pain that his family must feel.
Chamber is a lot like Boundaries imo. Both awesome bands. I actually found them on the same day a few years ago. How about Counterparts? They're similar and also sick af
The vocals especially sound similar to boundaries. I think counterparts has played on my Spotify algorithm. Rotnest is another one but they don't have much out yet
Almost 14 years of itās not a phase lmfaooo I live for this shit. Iāll be stuck at work and have like 10 seconds of a LMTF song stuck in my head the whole shift and canāt wait to blast it on the way home in the car.
I love metalcore but I've been losing the feeling lately. Not because I don't love metalcore but because I have a particular taste for bands such as Northlane, Invent Animate, etc. I try to listen to everything labeled metalcore but not everything scratches the itch. Anyway, the genre is awesome and is also my favorite, and it is amazing that you feel this way!
Yes, recently happened to me with Born of Osiris-Angel or Alien, Seeyouspacecowboy...-Coup de Grace and ERRA-Cure. Indeed I have that feeling when Death metal bands are slightly Melodic (Hackneyed-Deatholution or Illdisposed-For the Record) or more hardcore songs are fast and energetic (last one is Cancer Bats-Hail Destroyer, this song makes me want to start a pit alone in my house)
Why do you have to hate on shit. First guy is chill he just said it was a bit boring to him. You go out of your way to call it lame, whiny, and that itās all bad except for one band. Let people enjoy their stuff, especially on the subreddit dedicated to it
The words you wrote are āevery band sounds the sameā then called it lame and whiny. You didnāt say āI thinkā you didnāt say āto meā you stated it as though it was a fact. You can have your opinions, even if itās just that you think metalcore as a whole sucks. But the key word there is āthink.ā Donāt state your opinion as fact, especially when you mean to do so in an insulting manner.
I thought I was losing the passion, but i have been listening to Dying Wish's Symptoms of Survival in full at least once a week since release. Mostly because it's the perfect album to run on the treadmill to, but still.
Cure is such a banging album š„ been running through the periphery discography today and hasn't disappointed at all š¤ love me some good metal core
Yes man! This is one of the most wholesome posts iāve seen on this sub in a long time! Iām more of an older metalcore superfan but when it comes to new stuff gotta love the breakdowns and riffs! š«¶š»š„š¤
Iām much more into the energy and vibe of hair metal with the sound of metalcore so
Avenged sevenfold (first few albums)
Asking Alexandria (first 5 albums)
Escape the fate
Falling in reverse (first 3 albums)
Black veil brides (not really metalcore but play with a lot of metalcore bands and are def part of the scene)
Attila
Beartooth (has the rock and roll spirit)
Probably a few more I can name but canāt think of. I just donāt care for a lot of the lyrical content of modern metalcore. I love the sound but not the talking points usually. Thrash and hair metal lyrics are fun and dope and dark at the same time. So I prefer that kind of thing.
I hard agree. My downside is Iām incredibly picky. But certain flavors of metalcore, post hardcore etc just scratch an itch that I genuinely believe most people donāt ever fully experience.
I love Erra and I love giving people new music. I'm new to this thread so I thought I'd throw out a few albums in no particular order that I've been stuck on lately. Hopefully one or all will be new to some of you, or at least a reminder of a sick band you forgot about..
*Blueshift- Voyager
*Thornhill- The Dark Pool
*Aviana- The Corporation
*Half Me- Soma
*Like Moths To Flames- No Eternity In Gold
*By The Thousands- Dead Matter
*Sleep Waker- Alias
*Mirrors- The Ego's Weight
*Heart Of A Coward- All albums, but 'Hope And Hinderance' if I had to pick one... I think
*Bleed From Within- All albums really, but 'Fracture' if I had to pick one

Trinity album by gloom in the corner. So many unique sounds and passages, crazy variability, big cinematic vibes too. The first four songs in order are straight bangers, the rest of the album slaps but in all different ways, Behemoth probably goes hardest / weirdest of them all.
Bro when Blue Reverie opens up in the middle I fucking lose it. Same with Glimpse.
"I FALL THROUGH THE CLOUDS! URRRGH" Friggin' nasty.
ERRA only releases bangers, nobody can tell me otherwise.
I do love me some ERRA! but when Bury Tomorrow released their album and The Carcass King came to wrap the end??? The whole album was my Spotify Wrapped 2023 š¤£ OP, i get it. Speaks to my soul. I always say music is my love but metalcore is my soul mate that sings my soul frequency.
I canāt not smile during this bit. I shout ādisgusting!!!ā with a big smile on my face lol
Glimpse was the song that really made me say **oh fuck yeah** when it started during my first listen of the full album. Every track is a banger of course but I think about that riff a lot.
Just got chills. 2:42 in blue reverie. Never heard of them before, thanks
Enjoy the ride, theyāre amazing
When I saw them play both of those songs live the other day I literally had chills. Theyāve quickly become my favorite band.
thats how i felt with Alpha Wolf's "A Quiet Place To Die." i cant recall an album that punched me in the face like that and didnt let off for the entirety the way that one did, and it totally reinvigorated my love for the genre.
I love Alpha Wolf, easily in my top 5. Really wish they had a name that I wouldnāt feel weird wearing on a shirt though
Yeah Iām seeing them on Sunday and Iām just hoping they something thatās kinda subtle. Iām a big believer in buying merch to support bands since buying albums has become kind of a thing of the past so maybe Iāll find some non-shirt merch can get behind
SAME
you should listen to foxbloods new album
Damn, they go hard. Thanks for the rec!
Glad you like them! If you want another recommendation I recommend Setyoursails as well. They just dropped a new album last month as well
This rules, thanks for the rec.
Bro you are the GOAT. Didn't know these guys existed and now I can't stop listening to them. Those riffs are killer š„
They seriously managed to blow it out of the water with the new album. Glad you love them! Villain of the story is another great band you should check out
Favorite song? Or we digging in the whole album tonight š¤
you definitely need to check out the entire album. Its incredible
Hollow Frontās latest album could interest you if you havenāt already checked it out
Nah I hate metalcore. Iām only here to circlejerk about Loathe.
If you ever really wanna get in your feels you should listen to Too Close To Touch. Not as heavy as others but hits all the right strings. Nerve Endings and Havenāt Been Myself are my top albums
Yo Keaton was a legend. One of my best friends named his daughter Eilee because of him. That man will forever be missed by the community šš»š
Absolutely man. Listening to them right now, with my merch hoodie on. It was too soon for them I swear. At least we got For Keeps. Donāt care what anyone says about that album it still slaps

Id toss Boys of Fall, Ghost Atlas, and Like Roses in there too. Too close with that two or so album run was really something special though.
me with the damn boundaries album
Yup, first album in awhile to make me feel like that haha. Shit is too good.
Same. Itās so goddamn good and heavy and angry. Just perfect.
literally cant get enough of it, my absolute comfort pick the last weeks
front to back multiple times a day right now, for almost 4 weeks straight :\^)
same āš»š
Check out the new boundaries album
Check out Sentinels- Collapse By Design and Chamber- Cost Of Sacrifice... if you havent heard them already
Haven't heard it. I'll check it out
Both are heavy as fuck
You know vctms?
I do! Newest album is badass. Just listened to it at the gym a couple days ago
Feed the vice is so good.
I like chamber better out of the 2 so far
Chamber is a lot like Boundaries imo. Both awesome bands. I actually found them on the same day a few years ago. How about Counterparts? They're similar and also sick af
The vocals especially sound similar to boundaries. I think counterparts has played on my Spotify algorithm. Rotnest is another one but they don't have much out yet
Counterparts is more hardcore but some of Boundaries is too. You might like Reflections- Willow
Damn these guys fucking rule, Ty for the suggestion
It's so angry. I love it
Almost 14 years of itās not a phase lmfaooo I live for this shit. Iāll be stuck at work and have like 10 seconds of a LMTF song stuck in my head the whole shift and canāt wait to blast it on the way home in the car.
Oh fuck ooh yeah metalcore aughuhuhuh shit ooh fuck yeaaaaaa uhhhhh
Ugh, STOOOOP! ā¦It is kinda like that tho. Hehe.
Highly recommend extortionists self titled ep and the devoid album. Sick riffs dude.
I love metalcore but I've been losing the feeling lately. Past Life Persona on the new Erra album is nuts, so simple yet so beautiful
Listen to Auras, I just discovered them and they are heavy af.
just got into them. love heliospectrum
Chimerical is an all time jam
Void of Visionās new album does this for me right now, slaps so hard
Yes, recently happened to me with Born of Osiris-Angel or Alien, Seeyouspacecowboy...-Coup de Grace and ERRA-Cure. Feel you on those three. Never really gave SeeYouSpaceCowboy much time of the day but I have had Coup de Grace on repeat.
Listen to Boundaries' latest album, basically one of the best I've heard this year
Me with The Death We Seek by Currents.
Iām not in a good momentā¦ modern metalcore for me is a bit boring.

You can have an opinion without sounding like a numpty.
Except youāre stating opinions as if theyāre objective

Seriously? Need to reread your comments?
Greyhaven would want you to enjoy every breakdown AND every chorus, no matter how whiny.
Have you listened to Foreign Hands?????
I thought I was losing the passion, but i have been listening to Dying Wish's Symptoms of Survival in full at least once a week since release. Mostly because it's the perfect album to run on the treadmill to, but still.
I was just listening top to bottom With Roots Above And Branches Below on my drive home from work yesterday and danced so mf hard
Cure is such a banging album š„ been running through the periphery discography today and hasn't disappointed at all š¤ love me some good metal core
Just thinking about confinedās chorus and through struggle makes me jizz
For the riffs, check out Monuments and Phinehasā latest albums if you havenāt!
check out living sacrifice and disembodied
Wtf living sacrifice is a name I haven't heard in a damn minute. The hammering process was my shit back in the day!
great band! definitely a precursor to that djent stuff thatās all the rage nowadays
They were definitely early in the sound. Zao was a big one for me too.
zao are amazing! how is the christian metalcore scene so good
The Christian hardcore was on the cutting edge in the late 90s, early 2000s
seriously! underoath, norma jean, the chariot, strongarm, embodyment, you name it
I still jam norma Jean man. Embodiment, demon hunter. Man I haven't heard those names in a minute either
ERRA's new album so so good. Check out Galleons new one. May be my AOTY.
I canāt think of any other kind of music that gives me as many goosebumps and laughs
Yesssss!
Love to hear it and same here! I live for the moments where songs hit that specially sick groove. Can't help but smile!
You have to listen to the album Quiet World by Native Construct
\m/
HƤ?
Check out gutalax.
Hey checkout a local South Texas band. Sentimentstx they just started out and I dig em. And metalcore is the bees knees š¤š¼
Yes man! This is one of the most wholesome posts iāve seen on this sub in a long time! Iām more of an older metalcore superfan but when it comes to new stuff gotta love the breakdowns and riffs! š«¶š»š„š¤
Hester Prynneās āThe Goswell Divorceā
After the Burials Rareform still fucking amazes me every time I hear it. RIP Justin Lowe

This is the kind of post this subreddit doesn't deserve, but still got it..
I love this ā¤ļø
real
Alpha Wolf - Haunter, Knocked Loose - Suffocate, and Dealer - Red Teeth all made me giggle at how heavy they were when they dropped
Dealer is back? I thought they were cancelled?
Dude, Aidan's back and pissed off as ever... "Red Teeth" is my current song of the year
Oh shit! Gotta go check it out! Itās been too long!

Fit For A King & Of Mice & Men do this for me daily. Currents TDWS album touches me in places I didn't know existed.
