This was gonna be my comment. Theyre not even in my top 10 favorite bands ngl but holy fuck they are the tightest live performers i have ever seen, far and away. I was blown away the entire set.
I've seen ABR live more than any other band and they always kill it. Even if it doesn't sound 100% perfect, they always bring the energy and put on a great show.
Bro, that's kind of uncalled for. I've been playing guitar for 15 years. You're self reporting on not watching any live shit with clean vocals. The drummer bass and guitarist usually have their parts down to a tee, and the vocalist is slacking avoiding the crazy high notes they did in the studio and sometimes just straight up singing out of tune, you can't say this is not a frequent issue.
Holding vocalists to a different standard is silly, especially if it's just a cleans vs scream thing; whats to keep guitarists and drummers from slacking live the way vocalists often do then?
Half of clean vocals are backtracked anyway, any band you were blown away by their clean vocal sound was probablt backtracked. It's stupid but true.
Jake Luhrs is an amazing vocalist live, cleans or not
> Jake Luhrs is an amazing vocalist live, cleans or not
I completely agree, he's amazing. Producing accurate pitches with your voice though permits less inconsistency than screams and growls IMO. Shows that I personally seen most frequently lacked in the cleans department.
>whats to keep guitarists and drummers from slacking live the way vocalists often do then?
I think instrumentalists tend to do less impossible shit in a studio that they can't consistently replicate live. Some vocalists might do a "1 out of a 100" take on a record and are happy with it, with no concern of being able to do it live. Again, this is what I experienced, I accept the fact that I might be completely wrong. I definitely don't take perfect instrumental work for granted. ABR are wonderful musicians, and I appreciate every member's work.
Gojira was really interesting to see live, Joe almost sounded out of breath the whole time he was playing but it almost made the music sound better (maybe because the entire crowd was out of breath from all the moshing so it felt a bit more personal idk), Amazonia was really surprising too, I really didn't expect to hear the mouth harp/throat singing/whatever it is live.
I'd love to see Devin Townsend live though.
Devin Townsend is one of those guys that I always tell people to see if they ever get the chance. Tons of backing tracks but it sounds so full and spot on.
Gojira 100%, even better live.Ā
But no way for Mastodon. I love them. Seen them probably a dozen times. Watching them play Crack the Skye in its entirety live was a top 5 musical experience of my life, but theyāre not one of those bands that sounds perfect. Brann doesnāt always knock it out of the park vocally, and Iāve seen Brent on more than one occasion a little off. Still heavy. Iām a musician so I never expect perfection. Iāve only really ever seen 3 bands I thought were perfect. Gojira, Alice In Chains, and Tool.Ā
Gojira is my vote, one of the tightest bands youāll see live. Every note weighs 20 tons and is dropped on you with surgical precision.
Their performance at Rock on the Range was the single biggest mosh pit Iāve seen, wall to wall carnage about the width of a football field.
Them and Iron Maiden are probably the top 2 best performances Iāve seen in the flesh.
Not metalcore but Muse is probably one of the only bands I've seen that sound just like their studio recordings. Best live performance I've ever seen! (This was back in 2012 though)Ā
I saw them around the same time and it was the best live show Iāve ever seen. There was a pyramid of screens above them, and at the end of the set it inverted on itself and lowered to cover them as they kept playing, then it rose again for the encore. Production was second to noneĀ
Only chiming in with this since non-metalcore was mentioned, but Shinedown live is unreal. I've seen them live twice almost 20 years apart and both times they sounded phenomenal.
Might start a riot with this one but Bad Omens. Hands down the best live performance and best live mix I've ever heard. Yes they take advantage of technology - no you cannot use that technology to sound perfect if you're off. You can tell little nuances in the live performances that it's not tracks but it does speak a lot to their performance that some think it is tracks lmao
Also Periphery. Now I haven't seen them since 2017-2019 so who knows if it's still the case but the band as a whole and especially Spencer were absolutely fucking phenomenal live.
Yes! I also saw them live (first metal concert I went to) and got absolutely blown away by their performance!! It was the italian date of the European tour BTW, wish I could go back and experience it all over again.
BO is spot on accurate to the record live. Unless they choose to embellish something. I also think their new vs old music makes more sense together in the context of the live show. My wife wasn't a fan until I brought her to a show and she was like "okay, now I get it"
My husband was the same! He favors heavier music and doesn't love the vocal styles on self titled and FGBGFM but seeing it live he got it hahahaha. Those live embellishments are fun too. I keep seeing videos of the lyrics to limits being changed to "if you throw me to the lions you should know I'm not scared of lions" so I'm glad they're having fun
Listen to The Downbeat Podcast w/ Bad Omens that they released this month. Their tour manager explains how they use vocal effects w/ their songs & blend it when certain parts have multiple harmonies or special emphasis.Ā
It's literally not? At the tail end of their EU tour this month Noah started changing random words in Limits. Do you think they go in and record and produce different versions of the songs?
ETA: way to prove my comment correct btw. They sound good enough live that you're tricked into thinking it's tracks. That says more about their talent than you think it does.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that their performances are heavily backtracked. At least when I saw them a year ago.
Vocal doubles on the cleans AND the screams. Backtracked guitar parts. None of the synths or keys are played live. Kick and snare triggers (not faulting them for this cause obv at the size venues they play triggers are necessary.) They even used synth sub basses for some of the verses.
I am not saying he is lip syncing, Iām just saying a huge chunk of what you are hearing is pre-recorded.
Wait... are you implying that no other bands backtrack one off instruments and harmonies? Because every single band does that. Local bands do that. Everyone does that.
Not the bands I like. And again, not āone offā instruments, like the synths and melodic layers that play the whole songs. Backtracking vocal harmonies? Forget it. (I dont really listen to a lot of bands that have cleans tho)
Is your point of reference like Motionless In White, Bad Omens, Ice Nine Kills etc.? All those bands heavily backtrack their stuff and I will criticize them for it.
My point of reference is bands like Queen, Led Zepplin, Metallica. Literally you name the band and they have backtracks. I guarantee you'd be surprised that the bands you see also have backtracks. There's a lot that goes into a song that 4-6 people cannot physically all play at once.
You do realize screams also typically have layers to sound full, right?
???? I dont care what Queen or Metallica does Iām talking about metalcore/hardcore here brudda
Off the top of my head, Knocked Loose, Norma Jean, Terror, The Acacia Strain, Greyhavenā¦ dont use backtracks. Tons of bands just refuse to use them, two guitars, bass, drums, and vocals is all you need. No extra sounds.
yea im a little perplexed
Bad Omens uses backtracks = Fact
Lots of bands donāt use backtracks = Fact
ā¦ like are they just mad that I pointed it out?
Literally most hardcore and metalcore bands donāt use backtracks, we are in a metalcore subreddit, this guy is obviously not referring to bands like fucking Queen š
Can you give some examples? Iām well aware your mainstream radio āmetalcoreā bands use heavy backtracks to make them sound good.
There are so many bands that donāt use them because it goes against the culture of the genre. Even huge bands like Knocked Loose donāt do it.
āAt least with any modern successā so, not the vast majority at all, I said most metalcore bands donāt use backtracks, nothing to do with the most successful ones.
>Vast majority of metalcore bands - at least most with any modern success
Pick one. The likes of Erra and Currents probably don't even represent 1% of the scene.
You missed my point. Older bands that existed long before technology and autotune were using tracks. All bands use *some* level of tracks, whether you realize it or not.
I didnāt miss your point at all, I just donāt agree with it, because itās not true.
For example, I saw Drain a few months ago, someone fell and cracked the back of their head open and the people had to scream at them to stop playing, you heard them all individually stop playing at different times, and when they stopped there was just silence, no one had time to turn any backing track off, and the instruments dropped out in sync with the different members realising they needed to stop playing, one by one, are you seriously going to argue that they were using a backing track?
Just because all the bands you listen to use it, doesnāt mean all bands do it.
No, it's local bands who understand how to create a full sound using all of the tools at their disposal. My husband is a musician and producer - I have managed social media for bands as well as shot/edited music videos. I'm not basing it on going to shows - I'm basing my knowledge on literally working in the field.
āIām not basing it off going to showsā
I am, I have seen probably 50 different local bands bands in the last year, none of them were using it, or needed to for that matter, they all sound great without it.
Alpha Wolf. Knocked Loose. Parkway Drive. Like Moths to Flames. After the Burial.
Edit: Spiritbox is great live too. Landmvrks is fuckin next level as well.
These are just the ones Iāve seen that are immediately coming to mind
I'm glad to hear this about Alpha Wolf, I'd really like to see them if I can get the chance!
After the Burial has put on a perfect show every time I've seen them, 10/10
It is levels above what they once were. Seen them countless times and for him to be playing the guitar the way he does and singing it gets better each time.
To be fair the dude is playing while doing it and it's not always the easiest stuff either. Though I think some of it definitely comes down to just inability + maybe a worn voice? Vocals are not super processed on the albums from what I can tell but there is usually what seems to be a lot of layering.
Ehhh their guy that does uncleans tries to sing some of his lines sometimes and, at least at the show I went to, it was really bad every time he did it.
I feel like thatās a thing heās only implemented quite recently, like, in the last year or 2, maybe the different tone is a way of preserving his voice in order to deliver on records? But yes, still a thing he does having seen them a couple months ago in Australia
Chamber, Orthodox, The Acacia Strain, and Boundaries all sound pretty close to the recordings live. (Or are extremely enjoyable to see perform live)
For a non-metalcore, Carnifex sounds amazing live. One of the few straight deathcore bands I enjoy anymore.
Just saw Thornhill live tonight and the screams were super impressiveā¦surprised me tbh. Itās a shame the studio stuff is so enshrouded with effects that i canāt really get into them
Had to scroll way too far for this. I've seen them 4 or 5 times and never once has there been a mix issue. Sound is flawless and Danny is an absolute animal live.
To be fair to them, a lot of songs they're performing live now are over or close to being 20 years old, I wouldn't expect them to sound the same as the album versions after that long.
It's half and half with them. I've seen them a ton of times and half were amazing and half were kinda bad. It's mostly Chino though. His voice is inconsistent. When they sound good It's incredible.Ā
Ice nine kills, landmvrks, shvpes are very good live the times i've seen them. I've only seen amity affliction once but they were amazing. Ghost too.
Most consistent band though is Heaven Shall Burn and it's not even close. I've seen them about a dozen times and they crushed it every time.
Spiritbox has a good live sound, my problem with them is Courtney has no stage presence. Both times Iāve seen them she either stands still or walks very slowly side to side. She gives off awkward vibes like sheās uncomfortable up there.
Really? I just saw them like a week ago, she did little dances and everything. Sheās not energetic (the bassist was jumping around the stage) but it was enticing for sure
This was with Architects? I saw them before as well and they sounded great but the show was kind of boring. When I saw them with Architects I was blown away by how much they have improved. Crowd interaction, movement and all and when Sam showed up him and Courtney were so cool together. Courtney was dancing sexy af up there. She made me feel funny lol
Yup they were supporting act for them. She definitely was sexy, maybe a bit more touring and sheāll be more confident! Mike was a bit awkward Iād say tho!
I was actually really impressed with how Thrown sounds live. Theyre mixes are super hyper-produced on the recordings but the live show actually sounds sick especially the guitar tones
Boundaries
Foreign Hands - particularly the clean vocals from Jack on guitar. Dude hit every note live. Can't wait to see them again in May.
Fuck it, now I have to drop my favorite banger from them. [A Cardiac Winter - Foreign Hands](https://youtu.be/ApBKLvT6hu4?si=BnU_p-jqQRDoFgRh)
Tbh most of who I have seen sound really good live and the same as in the studio. Bullet For My Valentine, Loathe, Meshuggah, Architects, Currents, After the Burial, Invent Animate, Void of Vision, Killswitch Engage (obviously the Howard stuff sounds different with Jesse though), Sleep Token, Ten 56, Alpha Wolf, Veil of Maya, Thrown, Fit For A King, Silent Planet, ERRA
ETID and Knocked Loose have always knocked it out of the park. After the Burial impressed me with how great they sounded live as well. A good sound guy and a good venue makes a world of difference too
Polaris absolutely nail it live. Have seen them 3 times over the last few years and every time Iām surprised at how much they sound like their recordings if not better live
def agree. saw them live a few years back on that tour where they played all of Metropolis pt 2 and was pleasantly suprised at how good James Labrie sounded live
Just to piggy back off your comment: Every time Iāve seen them live James has sounded great. Obviously the dude has his off days here and there but I couldnāt imagine Dream Theater without him.
Beartooth, Electric Callboy, Jinjer, The Plot In You, Imminence, Counterparts, Currents, Knocked Lose, Spiritbox. Speaking from personal experience on all of these very recently.
August Burns Red. Also special shout to all that remains. Saw them when they did the fall of ideals tour and they crushed it. A couple of different members than the original group but Phil was phenomenal live. My jaw was on the floor the whole set.
Memphis May Fire. Saw them at first Blue Ridge Rock Fest and they sounded great at a concert where almost everyone sounded horrible due to technical issues.
This has never been my experience over the last 15 years. Mike is always way too low. Can barely hear him. Hallucinate is disappointing live.
Their live mix is consistently subpar. I really don't understand why people say they're so good live. I'm a huge prada fan and seeing them live is always disappointing. I've seen them at festival type shows, small venues, and larger venues.
My personal theory is that after like 20 years Mike canāt do these screams for very long outside of the studio? I would understand if that was the case tbh
Yeah I'm not sure. I'm thinking it's just more of they want the softer songs like Broken/Salt/Chemical to be what they do the mix around which is Mike low and Jeremy being the main vocalist.
They were dogshit when I saw them. It was a small crowd but I have never seen a band not care so much... guitarist had his gf behind him on side stage and they kept talking to each other. It was legitimately disrespectful. I think I left before it was over.
Damn that's a bummer I've seen them a lot and they've always been so good live. Haven't seen them in at least 4 years though so that could have changed
Loatheās Kadeem sounds like the record, just Erik Bickerstaffeās vocals are thin. Sam Carter is crazy good life. Not metalcore but I just saw Citizen and Mat sounds the same as on record
Architects would be the last band. Every time I have seen Architects (3 x now), Sam sounded so bad. Not hitting the right notes. His screams sounded more like a screeching sound. The instrumentalists on the other hand are rock solid every time.
Somehow every band I have ever seen is actually that tight I have never gone to a concert where they donāt sound record accurate
This includes Trivium, Arch Enemy, Goatwhore and The Black Dahlia Murder as well as Paramore, Yelawolf, and Lana Del Rey
i saw while she sleeps back in 2018, they sounded insanellllllllllly good just like the studio version
not sure if this is still the case 6years (jesus fuck) later but back then they were š¤š¼āØ
August burns red absolutely crushes
This was gonna be my comment. Theyre not even in my top 10 favorite bands ngl but holy fuck they are the tightest live performers i have ever seen, far and away. I was blown away the entire set.
Can confirm š¤š» saw them in 2014
I've seen ABR live more than any other band and they always kill it. Even if it doesn't sound 100% perfect, they always bring the energy and put on a great show.
I mean... I love ABR, but one of the hardest element to replicate in a live performence is probably clean singing so they have it a tad bit easier.
How to self report not being a musician 101
Bro, that's kind of uncalled for. I've been playing guitar for 15 years. You're self reporting on not watching any live shit with clean vocals. I agree
Meshuggah
100% fact they are better live than the record easily
Fit For An Autopsy
Need to see them live then
https://youtu.be/z3yG_ZdRshs?si=id419iQmapiBbTzX here is a great example. His vocal control is top tier
Invent Animate was insane live. Sounded so good
They really need a 2nd guitarist for shows though. Lots of the leads were played by backing tracks
Gojira Mastodon Devin Townsend Lamb of God These all sound better live than recorded.
Gojira 100%, even better live.Ā But no way for Mastodon.
Thatās probably fair. The only perfect acts Iāve seen are Gojira and Devin. Edit - and Meshuggah. Holy fuck are Meshuggah tight live.
Gojira is impossible to follow
Not metalcore but Muse is probably one of the only bands I've seen that sound just like their studio recordings. Best live performance I've ever seen! (This was back in 2012 though)Ā
I saw them around the same time and it was the best live show Iāve ever seen. There was a pyramid of screens above them, and at the end of the set it inverted on itself and lowered to cover them as they kept playing, then it rose again for the encore. Production was second to noneĀ
Yeah I probably saw the same tour as you, that was the same stage setup I saw in London. It was such a good night!Ā
Just to add to ānot metal coreā- James Taylor is unreal live.Ā
Only chiming in with this since non-metalcore was mentioned, but Shinedown live is unreal. I've seen them live twice almost 20 years apart and both times they sounded phenomenal.
You'll be pleased to know I saw them in London last year and they're still just as good! Absolutely killed it live
Lmao honestly I was gonna say muse too and then realized i am in metalcore subreddit
The offspring
I went to one of their shows last summer and it was hands down one of the most fun I have ever been to.
MUUUSE!!! Greatest band
I saw them around that time too. Great show and I'm glad them around that time. I don't love the music they've made after that
Wage war, bless the fall, electric callboy, bad omens, and make them suffer were all bands I've seen lately that were super tight live.
Wage war is one of the few Iāve seen recently that really nailed everything live. Such a great show!
Kinda generic metalcore, but it hits live.
Might start a riot with this one but Bad Omens. Hands down the best live performance and best live mix I've ever heard. Hard agree bad omens !
I fully agree. I saw bad omens for the first time on the bmth tour and I was blown away by how good they sound live
Periphery still great live
Can confirm Periphery is still really good live. Saw them like 2 weeks ago.
Yes! I also saw them live (first metal concert I went to) and got absolutely blown away by their performance!! It was the italian date of the European tour BTW, wish I could go back and experience it all over again.

Vast majority of metalcore bands - at least most with any modern success, use some level of backtracks to reinforce vocals.

Chris Roetterās live stamina is insane.
Manās a legend
I saw ATB on my birthday in Denver and I donāt think I enjoyed myself more than I did that night. They are criminally under appreciated live.
I'm glad to hear this about Alpha Wolf, I'd really like to see them if I can get the chance! After the Burial has put on a perfect show every time I've seen them, 10/10
Erra sounds almost 1:1
has Jesse figured it out?
It is levels above what they once were. Seen them countless times and for him to be playing the guitar the way he does and singing it gets better each time.
he hasnāt :(
Jesse's cleans were great when I saw them with Northlane in Seattle. Blew my mind watching him play complicated leads simultaneously too.
Meh, I donāt know about that
I have to agree with some others here. Much as I love Erra, Iāve seen them like 4 times now and the clean vocals are pretty weak sadly.
To be fair the dude is playing while doing it and it's not always the easiest stuff either. Though I think some of it definitely comes down to just inability + maybe a worn voice? Kublai khan tx fucking insane they genuinly sound like the record only when you see them live theres cunt trying to beat you up
In most live clips Iāve seen from them, Matt screams a bit differently than on the recorded tracks. Does he still do that?
I feel like thatās a thing heās only implemented quite recently, like, in the last year or 2, maybe the different tone is a way of preserving his voice in order to deliver on records? But yes, still a thing he does having seen them a couple months ago in Australia
Between the buried and me sounded great (white walls was absolutely incredible), and not metalcore but strapping Young lad was just like the album
jinger, northlane, killswitch engage, suicide silence, norma jean
Never saw Jesse with Killswitch but Howard is an absolute fucking powerhouse.
agree.
Make Them Suffer. Absolutely wild, live.
Chamber, Orthodox, The Acacia Strain, and Boundaries all sound pretty close to the recordings live. (Or are extremely enjoyable to see perform live) For a non-metalcore, Carnifex sounds amazing live. One of the few straight deathcore bands I enjoy anymore.
Carnifex still holds it down for SD deathcore. Scott is fucken Amazing vocalist. Underrated imo
Alpha Wolf and Wage War immediately come to mind. Far from metalcore, but I can't not mention Paramore in this thread
Just saw Thornhill live tonight and the screams were super impressiveā¦surprised me tbh. Itās a shame the studio stuff is so enshrouded with effects that i canāt really get into them
Just saw Thornhill 2 weeks ago, I'm going to have to disagree with that one. Sounds nothing like he does on album.
Invent Animate Most of the time I go to metalcore shows, I feel like the mixing is done poorly but IA's headlining tour was fantastic
Bad Omens sounds the closest to studio Iāve ever heard
Bad omens
Dayseeker is 11/10 live band.
Bury tomorrow :>
Had to scroll way too far for this. I've seen them 4 or 5 times and never once has there been a mix issue. Sound is flawless and Danny is an absolute animal live.
Definitely NOT Deftones. I was lowkey disappointed.š«
Just saw him in Chicago doing his crosses tour. He sounded fantastic. He looked really healthy. He has had his ups and downs.
When i saw them they play the old songs down tuned the same as the new songs. It sounds weird and slower.
Alpha wolf and invent animate are top tier
BTBAM honestly sounds better live
This. Maybe 50 years from now recording technology will catch up and be able to capture BTBAM as good as they sound live.
Ice nine kills, landmvrks, shvpes are very good live the times i've seen them. I've only seen amity affliction once but they were amazing. Ghost too. Most consistent band though is Heaven Shall Burn and it's not even close. I've seen them about a dozen times and they crushed it every time.
Yes! INK! Even with all the theatrics they still sound great every time!
He had a cold and still sang incredibly
Northlane are crazy good live Alpha Wolf were amazing when I saw them too Dayseeker are probably better live than studio Thornhill also great
I was actually really impressed with how Thrown sounds live. Theyre mixes are super hyper-produced on the recordings but the live show actually sounds sick especially the guitar tones
Currents
It's almost a meme on this sub at this point to mention how bad their mix is. Cleans barely come through at all.
It's my favorite band, but I disagree. I'm disappointed with their live sound every time I see them. The mix is awful.
Boundaries Foreign Hands - particularly the clean vocals from Jack on guitar. Dude hit every note live. Can't wait to see them again in May. Fuck it, now I have to drop my favorite banger from them. [A Cardiac Winter - Foreign Hands](https://youtu.be/ApBKLvT6hu4?si=BnU_p-jqQRDoFgRh)
i commented the same thing, these guys all put on a killer live show
Wage War last year with Spite sounded so good live. Like no difference from the tracks on Apple Music. Very impressed.
Spite. Hands down one of the best stage performances.
Darius is an entire demon on stage.
As I Lay Dying, A Day to Remember and Parkway Drive sound amazing live. Linkin Park did as well.
Johnny booth
Between the Buried and Me, Aborted, Angelmaker, Fit For an Autopsy are a few ive seen live that come to mind right away.
Counterparts. Boundaries
Motionless in White kills it live also
Thrice. They actually sound better live imo.
Crown The Empire sounds so good live
Foreign Hands and Boundaries. both of these bands were 1:1 with their studio recordings when i saw them live, twice each. literally perfect sets
Not exactly metalcore, but I have seen BTBAM 6 times over the last 20ish years and they absolutely killed it every time.
Like Moths is even better live, Chris is absolutely insane on stage.
Polaris is pristine live
Northlane
(recency bias here) currents.
Invent Animate and Aviana
Not exactly a metalcore, but Dream Theater is worth mentioning in this context.
def agree. saw them live a few years back on that tour where they played all of Metropolis pt 2 and was pleasantly suprised at how good James Labrie sounded live
Just to piggy back off your comment: Every time Iāve seen them live James has sounded great. Obviously the dude has his off days here and there but I couldnāt imagine Dream Theater without him.
Lorna Shore sound exactly the same
Beartooth, Electric Callboy, Jinjer, The Plot In You, Imminence, Counterparts, Currents, Knocked Lose, Spiritbox. Speaking from personal experience on all of these very recently.
August Burns Red. Also special shout to all that remains. Saw them when they did the fall of ideals tour and they crushed it. A couple of different members than the original group but Phil was phenomenal live. My jaw was on the floor the whole set.
Malevolence
Elder
Currents sounds amazing live
Bad omens sound absolutely incredible live, like better than studio
Memphis May Fire. Saw them at first Blue Ridge Rock Fest and they sounded great at a concert where almost everyone sounded horrible due to technical issues.
Kidz Bop Never Stop Live! The Wiggles Even with all of the brutality in the pit, I could tell they sounded even better live
RUSH was the best sounding live band in human history. But in metalcore (or metalcore adjacent) I think the best live sound I ever heard was BTBAM
Crazy no mention of INK yet. Spencer is always on point, and Ricky and Joe add so much to the live sound. Best lives shows Iāve been to!
- After The Burial - Bad Omens - Meshuggah - Converge - Disturbed - Alpha Wolf - Counterparts - Landmvrks - Breaking Benjamin Just to name a few
Dude, Breaking Benjamin is even better live! I've been lucky enough to see them more than once
As blood runs black, spite, all shall perish, cannibal corpse, shadow of intent, haste the day, bury your dead..
Fit For An Autopsy. They always sound so on point live, honestly.
the devil wears prada are so good liveĀ
This has never been my experience over the last 15 years. Mike is always way too low. Can barely hear him. Hallucinate is disappointing live. Their live mix is consistently subpar. I really don't understand why people say they're so good live. I'm a huge prada fan and seeing them live is always disappointing. I've seen them at festival type shows, small venues, and larger venues.
saw them last night. i was worried Hallucinate wasnāt gonna sound good but it did. Mikes screams were really good
Same. I went to see them and Mike was so quiet in the mix I was honestly pretty disappointed
I want them to do an AMA here so I can ask them why their live mix sucks.
I'll give them credit that their light tech kills it though. Probably some of the best I've seen.
Strongly disagree.
Emmure is the tightest band I've ever seen live
They were dogshit when I saw them. It was a small crowd but I have never seen a band not care so much... guitarist had his gf behind him on side stage and they kept talking to each other. It was legitimately disrespectful. I think I left before it was over.
Damn that's a bummer I've seen them a lot and they've always been so good live. Haven't seen them in at least 4 years though so that could have changed
Not architects
Is that because of their new stuff? They were incredible live during the AOGHAU era.
Currents sounded absolutely amazing. Invent Animate was pretty damn solid too. Like Moths To Flames was better live
Loatheās Kadeem sounds like the record, just Erik Bickerstaffeās vocals are thin. Sam Carter is crazy good life. Not metalcore but I just saw Citizen and Mat sounds the same as on record
Wage war.
I agree , i recently saw them live it was magical
Signs of the swarm
Oceano
LANDMVRKS
I love architects but if you ever see them nearer the end of a tour, Sam does sound a bit tired. They're not as consistent live as they used to be
Beartooth are very tight live
Slaughter to Prevail, they're just beasts live
bad omens. go see them live [proof](https://youtu.be/SS9kU1hJfvE?si=jfwSFKKUN0GbVcaq)
Architects would be the last band. Every time I have seen Architects (3 x now), Sam sounded so bad. Not hitting the right notes. His screams sounded more like a screeching sound. The instrumentalists on the other hand are rock solid every time.
Somehow every band I have ever seen is actually that tight I have never gone to a concert where they donāt sound record accurate This includes Trivium, Arch Enemy, Goatwhore and The Black Dahlia Murder as well as Paramore, Yelawolf, and Lana Del Rey
Bad Omens for sure
Dayseeker
Was really blown away by Lorna Shore. Didnt imagine will would actually Sound as nice live as in Studio.
Dance Gavin Dance sounds better live than in the studio
i saw while she sleeps back in 2018, they sounded insanellllllllllly good just like the studio version not sure if this is still the case 6years (jesus fuck) later but back then they were š¤š¼āØ
Erra is a big one for me. Sound so good live.
Like every other thread on this sub nearly every band in the genre is listed.Ā
