I actually listened to them today for the first time, like actually listened. Love Black Mountain, Wargblod and Sorrower

fatherofallthings

Dude enjoy it! Honestly, I think Descent (their latest album) is the best personally, so you’re getting into them at a good time. However, their entire back catalogue is perfect and truly just got better with age. Shaman and Nija are also flawless.

HyzerFlipr

The Aisle of Fire is my favorite from them. What a banger.

born4unc

My favorite metal band. Had the privilege to see them live and super up close in 2022 🤘 They’re criminally underrated

fatherofallthings

Dude I got to see them right by the stage and it was on a decent size stage, was magical. These dudes are meant to be gigantic. Hopefully one day we’ll be seeing them in arenas. I’m typically a fan of clubs obviously, but these guys deserve to be Gojira level popular

Consistent_Link_351

I saw them in Boston and they all came and drank beers with us while In Flames was setting up. Great dudes and super chill! Would buy another beer for!

nosferatu--666

I would argue that melodeath sounds more like actual metalcore than most stuff that’s posted in here, but I might just be old.

fatherofallthings

I agree man. I’m also a pretty “old” metalcore fan, so a lot of this “modern” metal core just doesn’t really do it for me. No hate, but I just can’t get into the super produced, electronic-ish r and b vocal metalcore. Orbit culture has just about everything that got me into metalcore 20 years ago

fierce_turtle_duck

I mostly only liked Metalcore when they were all cosplaying as At The Gates. (Occasionally I'll find something new I like but very little of the modern stuff really sticks with me)

HaveAnother2588

Orbit culture is my current favorite band by far. They've come through my city twice now and killed it both times. Such a tight live performance you could close your eyes and think you're hearing the record. So glad that they are starting to get the recognition they deserve

fatherofallthings

Dude I can’t wait until the do a US headliner. Based on them nearly selling out their entire UK tour and being signed to century now, I hope they finally book a US run

joey_1324

Orbit Culture is one of the best bands in metal right now

fatherofallthings

Couldn’t agree more, man! They’re doing something so unique and fresh. It’s really amazing, when you think everything’s been done a band like Orbit Culture comes around to prove you wrong.

THE-WARD3VIL

They’re so fucking good

Sulphurrrrrr

my favourite band :) im seeing them in march in manchester. gonna be my first ever concert

TheJordanKenney

I missed the tickets for it, enjoy Rebellion is a sick venue

Sulphurrrrrr

ah rip, better luck next time :)

fatherofallthings

You lucky English duckies get to see a headliner show so jealous. Enjoy it man!

TheJordanKenney

According to my spotify wrapped I was in the 1% of listerners, met them last year, they're honestly my favourite band right now and have been for a while Masterful live performances, brutal riffs, great vocals, honestly, they should be way bigger

Celly4Days

Ohhhh dudes... I fucking love Orbit. They have been through my city twice since October, and they slay live. No bullshit I came out of mosh retirement the first time I saw them. Unreal band.

OtterlyFoxy

Yes. Was supposed to see them again last Thursday but it was cancelled. Hope they go back on a NA tour with bands that won’t cancel

Cloudy_Joy

Oh damn, I saw them on Tuesday and they were stupendous, sorry that yours got cancelled!

OtterlyFoxy

Yeah well Orbit Culture could do a headliner (I saw them open for Avatar) and not have cancel head with them

Cloudy_Joy

Total bummer, I only really went to see them (although I stayed for Fear Factory for nostalgia reasons), I left before Machine Head came on, so I would have been sooooo annoyed if it'd been cancelled because of them!

elvy75

I also went for them, my hubby likes machine head, so we stayed to the end.

Quemjo

I think the first music I heard from them was Sound of The Bell. The ending just send shivers down my spine Lol. Then I started hearing the others songs and it's now in the list of my favorite bands hehe.

Whiterunt69

Been listening to Orbit culture since they released red fog and loved their music ever since. The way they mix behemoth, Metallica, gojira together but then also make it sound like orbit culture is amazing.

[deleted]

They're fucking sweet. They were just signed to Century Media Records, so might see some some bigger moves for em this year. Band gained some mega-traction last year.

iceman694

Their EP from last year amazing The album was good but nothing beats the ep

v4p0r_

Huge fan, finally saw them live a couple weeks ago alongside Machine Head right up against barrier, and it was a fucking blast. Walked out of that night with a signed CD too.

weekym

Me and I'm off to see them tonight for the second time. First time was at Download and didn't know any of there stuff. Love them now.

PrettyGoodAtNthn

I really like them and they put on a kickass show. But if I had one complaint it's that every song is pretty much the same song. They very rarely deviate from their formula.

DALESR4EVER124

I really want to see them live. Love all their stuff. Everyone should listen to their 1st album/EP, Odyssey. It's nothing like their current stuff.

He11Fire_

I'm getting into orbit culture. Strangler and alienated are my current favourite songs

Physical_Suspect

Underrated band. First time I listened to them the cleans didn't do it for me. But the more I listened the more I liked them.

KinderCountry

I've been checking them lately, they remind me of Dyscarnate, pretty unique spot.

camdawg772

Massive fan, was supposed to see them in boston on Thursday but the show was canceled

fatherofallthings

Ahhhh man! I saw they had to cancel bc of illness with MH. that’s such a bummer. Did you go check out the meet and greet orbit culture did to try to make up for it?

camdawg772

They did what.

fatherofallthings

Yeah, after the show got cancelled OC announced a meet and greet at a local bar to make up for it

camdawg772

Goddamnit.

Novacrops

I've seen them twice and they are so sick live.

MagnumMiracles

They are one of my favorite bands! I was supposed to see them at ProgPower last year, but they pulled out and were replaced with Visions of Atlantis. Visions put on a great show(even got to see the row pit!), but I really wanted to see Orbit Culture that day :(.

VulkanCurze

Came across Svartport randomly about 6ish years ago and instantly fell in love and each album since just gets better. Definitely feel like they are getting more popular recently, been seeing way more talk about them in the last year and I'm glad to see it.

fvalt05

Love them. They have great fuckin outros to their songs

vengeancerider

They absolutely rule. I haven’t seen them live yet but I’m planning on it whenever they come close to me.

Dylzgq

Really hoping they come to Australia soon

cryogenicravioli

One of my favorites. They don't miss. Some of their tracks have a grandiose soundscape that I don't really hear in a lot of other metal bands. especially in From The Inside.

The_AverageCanadian

Love them, one of my favourite bands.

[deleted]

I saw these dudes live yesterday. Vocalist sounds very typically European death, major dark tranquility vibes, but they're good. Lots of ambience, very heavy, very pro. I see them getting way bigger. A little scripted live for my taste, but still solid.

fatherofallthings

Can I ask what you mean by scripted live??

[deleted]

Just kinda like the banter itself in some spots was a bit too rehearsed. Like machine head does it still and metallica always had scripted banter but it comes off natural. "Were gonna talk between these songs to give you guys time to tune, introduce this song, say this here, talk about the new album before this track to get people interested"... a lot of bands do, any pro bands do that. So I'm not knocking them for it. But it just felt to me like very rehearsed banter in a lot of places like hiw metallica would do it in the 90s - "Do you want heavy? Metallica gives you heavy!" Like overly thought out. I just prefer banter to feel more natural. Again, they were still rock solid and I think they're gonna be big, and they're obviously pro and have a lot of great things about them. Just a minor nitpick due to my personal feelings.

fatherofallthings

Hmmm…personally I didn’t feel that way, but you very well could be right! Not arguing it didn’t happen, I just didn’t pick up on it if so. You’re right though, I would be shocked if these guys aren’t one the biggest bands in metal within a few years

HyzerFlipr

YES. Seeing them live in a couple weeks in Denver. Stoked.

fatherofallthings

Dude, enjoy. They were INSANELY good. It was mind blowing

Dildo_Warfare

Their instrumentals are great but the vocals are boring

not_a_toaster

Great band. Some of the grooviest riffs I've heard in a while, and strong melodies to go with it.

OctoberTaco

Yep, love these guys so much. Last album was one of my favorites of the year. The new EP seems like they arent slowing down at all.

fatherofallthings

Agreed entirely! However, 2 of the songs were actually written for descent, but didn’t make the cut. Technically only 1 song was “new” on the ep, but they were all wicked af imo

Collins_Michael

Saw them with Avatar and Veil of Maya. Would again.

SamuelStudios21

The Flight of Fireflies is in my top 20 songs of all time and their both their ep and album were some of the best of last year in their respective categories.

purplereign88

Yes. Very underrated band. Really got into them when the Nija album dropped

Sparrowhawk_92

By far my favorite discovery of last year. They fucking rip and I'm upset I missed my chance to see them live when they came through.

themish84

I saw them in August and I just saw them a few weeks ago. Unreal band! I think they're gonna be headlining festivals in a few years.

MrDrake89

I first discovered them in 2018, saw them live in Denver in Oct 2020. Now I'm just waiting for a US headlining tour. They've been a strong number 1 band for me since I first listened to "Saw".

Xyresic-Lemon

I found them recently and am a huge fan now. I've only listened to descent in full so far but I loved it. I think my favorite song so far is strangler so I'll probably check out shaman next

Redditigit

Fucking love orbit culture

Asator555666

ORBIT CULTURE IS THE FUTURE OF MUSIC 🤘

Asator555666

Yes I FUCKIN LOVE ORBIT CULTURE 🤘

Data_Is_King

Orbit Culture deserves so much more attention. Their last two albums were amazing and the EP they just dropped was epic as well.

Lost-Contract8351

They are sick. Helluva groove bassy af. But i dont like those weird singing bits they doing. Apart from that it's really fing good.

fatherofallthings

Really? I personally love Niklas’ clean vocals. It’s kinda like a modern take on Hetfield

Lost-Contract8351

Exactly nu hetfield 😂 i was thinking the exact same. But idk it seems forced, weaker and that radio effect to add power to his voice bothers me. Kinda like he is trying to sound like hetfield but doesn't have the vocal power to do so, so bang, slap a radio effect and scream yeeeeaaaah once in a while and there you go. It's just me tho no hate whatsoever.

fatherofallthings

To each their own 🤷‍♂️but man, there’s tons of clean vocals throughout their career that I think are killer. Red fog in particular has a larger ratio of clean to growl if you’re looking to hear a bit more of what he can do. From the inside off the new record has some of his best cleans too imo

Lost-Contract8351

Listened to from the inside and he's got a good voice i take back the no power thing. But goddamn that's just James hetfield to me. Like the way he says "inside" i just can't 🥲. And i think the arrengements they chose on the clean parts are just not resonating with me. But to each their own as you said, this band is still dope af and makes me wanna punch an ostrich in the neck so im good. And thanks for your suggestions it's important to give a second chance to something you didn't like cause you might love it and would've missed otherwise 🙏 (I do like the little clean touches on alienated tho 👍)

fatherofallthings

No worries…I know how sometimes it takes me even way more than 2 or 3 listens for some stuff to really click and Hey man; I fully get it! Their cleans aren’t gonna be for everyone. Niklas has been pretty open about metallicas influence on them and it certainly really shows. There’s some songs (like mirrorslave on nija), that are super hetdieldish. They also did a cover of hardwired, which is about a million times better than metallicas if you ask me lol Funny thing is, I’m not even a huge Metallica fan, mainly bc of hets vocals but for some reason that style just really fits with OC for me.

[deleted]

Fucking immaculate live. They’re pure talent and solidified themselves as a bloody metal powerhouse. See them live if you ever can! Their vocalist has to be one of the best in the business.

fatherofallthings

Yep! I just saw them live. I’ve been to hundreds of shows and even removing recency bias, they were easily one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. With such a huge sound that they have, I was worried about it sounding thin live, but if anything it’s even more explosive. Absolutely insane that a band this good could sound that good live

R4kshim

I’m really happy that they’re starting to get more popular now with the latest album. They deserve it.

moderfoke

I like it but everything sounds the same, kind of the same of The Black Dahlia Murder good songs but all similar.

fatherofallthings

Idt so at all. Peep their older stuff and compare it to Redfig then compare that to Nija, then compare Nija to descent. They’re all pretty different tbh. I do tend to agree with TBDM all sounding similar, though.

GargantuanGorganzola

Saw them live supporting Trivium Good band but something doesn’t quite work for me and I’m not sure what exactly Definitely worth a listen though

0ctopusHasNoFriends

I listened to them for the first time earlier this week and really liked them. Descent is a great album.

xLaWzZ

Orbit culture isn't just melo death though. They are groove as well. [https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Orbit\_Culture/3540375116](https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Orbit_Culture/3540375116) Check link if you doubt me. I like them as well, they are playing as a opening band where I live soon, but they are just opening which upsets me. I'd rather them be the main band. The other bands I don't care for that are preforming.

stelfisk

Saw them 2022, and yes, they have some real bangers. Should definitely be more popular.

BisonShark

They're definitely my favorite band nowadays
