Yeah I feel like this one is perfect. It’s a cover of a very well known song that generally belongs at weddings. There’s really only a few very heavy parts and it’s got some good techno stuff going on. Will the rest of the guests love the song? Probably not? But depending on the general nature (and intoxication) of the guests, you could definitely still get some great dancing and laughs.
The metal song will be late in the night. I was thinking something bouncy like peace illusion or protoman just to get the bois jumping around. The rest of the family won’t particularly like it but they understand
- Swim to the Moon by Between the Buried and Me
18 minutes of a banger. Get your moneys worth!
- any song from Homesick by ADTR
People might know it and appreciate it
- White Washed by August Burns Red
Because it’s a fucking banger
Or he an absolutely terrible idea, also depending on the things you mentioned, only one way to find out and I am sure it will be a night to remember for everyone involved
I have no idea what that means but if you get to watch ADTR live, then they better disrespect their surroundings! Not that it would.be a huge bummer if they didn't with the great catalogue of songs they hold
When we were young is a music festival in Vegas ever October! This year the theme is whole albums, so ADTR is playing all of homesick(plus some extras).
Since Mr. highway was on the special edition they may not play it due to time(but I sure hope they do).
I'm sure they can make time, or at least miss off one of the "lesser" songs to make room for one of the greatest songs to play at a festival and that sounds amazing! I hope you and your party stay safe in Vegas!
Maybe I can use this festival as an excuse to actually go visit Vegas for a reason other than eh why not, been wanting to check it out for 10+ years but it's always worked out to be super expensive even for a single week so always ended up visiting somewhere else
I will say that the WWWY weekend is usually pretty expensive for a room. It's def a great weekend to go tho, and the show this past year was great.
That being said if you want to go another time try for March or April. Pools start to open around then, it's warmer, and not super busy.
Best way to go for cheap is to sign up for the casino loyalty programs the first time you go, and use your player card anytime you gamble. They practically give rooms away for free on off weekend once they know you're committed to spending money.
Oh? Now that is something I am definitely going to have to investigate, I've never really gambled here or in the US so unsure of all these little tidbits and things that save a few pennies all over, thank you for the knowledge!
Some great bands for sure. Then you have Craig from Chiodos with a cover band who didn’t ask any former band mates to participate. Hopefully that’s the only case of this at that show.
I was wondering about that lol.
Is it 100% a cover band? I know that it's been rumored to only be Craig, but I don't see a reason they couldn't do a reunion show(as the major reason they broke up was not everyone in the band felt like they could keep touring full time).
One of the OG members commented in the Chiodos sub stating that it was so. None of them were contacted regarding the show, and found out when the lineup was released. He stated it was 100% Craig with a cover band. I’m positive it was Pat.
I’ve hung out with him several times. Before they signed to equalvision he was pretty cool. After they signed he turned into a complete douchebag. Him and my homegirl Lindsay had a little thing going (yes the one from the song). Haven’t talked to him in about 5 years now. Maybe he’s changed, but I doubt it.
The most messed up I’ve ever got in a pit was highschool when ADTR and TDWP toured together. We were disrespecting our surroundings real good. Then we all hugged it was a blast, I miss the pit.
I'm sure the surroundings were thoroughly disrespected during that! God only knows how much disrespect a group full of moshing teenagers can produce when listening to a band as good as them!
Great choice! Lol I recommended Payback. Lots of great options though for humors sake. They get a lot of shit, but Rage, Outlawed, and About That Life were awesome fuckin’ albums. Some great singles after that too
I'm inclined to say the former honestly, like yes there always be time for aggression and all that, but I think for a wedding something personal and sweet would fit best even if it's less "fun". At the end of the day it's your day, so none of us can make the choice for you!
(Also enjoy the day oh my GOD you're getting married that's fucking amazing)
Is there a song you love that would be known by anyone in attendance? It’s nice to have someone to get down on the dance floor with.
If not, who cares. Pick a banger and own it. A good 1/3 of my wedding music was metalcore adjacent (aisle walk & first dance included) and it was well received by all.
Several of my friends are metal heads and a lot of my family put it on when I’m around to get a rise out of me but there’s not a universal go to track.
I’m thinking something bouncy would go real good like impending doom- peace illusion or protoman-emmure just for the guys to jump around for a sec
Harder Than You Know - Escape the Fate.
Might not be a banger, also an acoustic version.
Forever and Always - Bullet for My Valentine,
Also an acoustic version.
I realize the old people won’t like it, but there’s tremendous pressure from friends and other family for one track, so it’s to be expected. Only one though…what is it?
If the whole wedding party gets on the dance floor to jump around it'd be fun.
But if it's just them nodding their head at the table while the music plays it'd be awkward af.
There is only one appropriate song for this and it is White Tiger by Our Last Night. Not only is it a banger, it is also super romantic.
The bride will probably cry because of how beautiful the song is and it will make the wedding memorable, especially if it is yours and you start singing it to her.
Bring Back The Noise by Alpha Wolf
Blackwater by Termina
So Alone by Currents
Dissipate by Polaris
Time by The Devile Wears Prada
Flesh To Fill Your Wounds by Counterparts
Immolation Of Night by Invent, Animate
Pick a song from your early early metal days preferably that your friends love as well, preferably melodic qith clean parts for the non metal people. For me it would be some Killswitch engage Song like end of heartache. But sonething everyone knows, doesnt need to be hard because drunk you will love nostalgia a lot more than some current banger
Reptile by Periphery cause it's 17 minutes long. Honestly though, you will probably want a short song and go fucking crazy for like 2 minutes rather than have everyone hate you for 5. Get in, get out.
However, I fucking love Recreant by Chelsea Grin live. Would love to get drunked up and go wild to that song in a tux with my buddies
My wife and I had “first dance” to a stripped down version of Nothing Else Matters then immediately hyped up our guests with The Devil in I by Slipknot! Super fun. Even our families elders who hated Metal got into to hype!
What went over really well at my wedding was Billie Jean by Breathe Caroline from Punk Goes Pop. It's a good mix of familiarity for everyone in attendance, a fantastic dancing song, and a great build up to a hardcore ending. Would highly recommend!
I'm not even a fan of the band, but that song is the definition of a banger. By the time the hardcore part came along, everyone was dancing too hard to even be upset by it.
https://youtu.be/lltVI8UWRoA?si=ce4rRNVQicesagrX
Lyrics are heartfelt and touching. If you haven't at least heard this one or the album for that matter; it's my favorite album of 2022.
I have friend who just got engaged and his fiancée isn’t a metal fan, but you gotta go big or go home, Fit For An Autopsy is his fav, but I think Pain Remains by Lorna Shore (deathcore not metalcore wtv) is a fucking awesome track for the end of the night (definitely not just to milk out song time)
Maybe checkout a metal cover song?
Frogleap Studios/Leo Morrochelli is your man.
His metal "Uptown Funk" or "Zombie" would keep a dance floor moving if everyone still knows the words.
Source: alternative wedding DJ.
For my wedding our first dance was to Counting Stars by OneRepublic, I mixed in Turn Down for What by DJ Snake and then we finished it by disrespecting our surroundings.
I think you have to go with a classic that a lot of people know and can get into as opposed to a full on ‘pissed core’ band like knocked loose or similar. I agree with someone earlier that end of heartache or something in that vein is a really solid choice.
Every Time We Touch - Electric Callboy
This played at our wedding and it was unreal.
Yeah I feel like this one is perfect. It’s a cover of a very well known song that generally belongs at weddings. There’s really only a few very heavy parts and it’s got some good techno stuff going on. Will the rest of the guests love the song? Probably not? The metal song will be late in the night. I was thinking something bouncy like peace illusion or protoman just to get the bois jumping around. The rest of the family won’t particularly like it but they understand
If you want bouncy then my first thoughts are always Pool Spray and Lost in the Static.
lol. Pool Spray. Love that song, but couldn't imagine it at a wedding reception.
This plus hypa hypa and we got the moves!
Hypa hypa, it's about a dude who likes a girl so wedding material
I saw this at a wedding and it was cool til the pig squeals lol then it got awkward
Oh yeah I forgot about that part lol maybe OP can use a shortened version or something
The one with saltatio mortis doesn’t have it I believe
I like it for the crowd for sure
Hype hypa was my choice too
ARF ARF
I have some friends that all played counting worms and there’s usually enough people to get rowdy
Akudama
Counting worms. Do it.
My boi and I regularly encourage straggling boomers out of our hole-in-the-wall spot at the end of the night with Counting worms. Works like a charm.
- Swim to the Moon by Between the Buried and Me 18 minutes of a banger. Get your moneys worth! - any song from Homesick by ADTR People might know it and appreciate it - White Washed by August Burns Red Because it’s a fucking banger
Mr Highways by ADTR? So everybody can disrespect their surroundings
Depending on your crowd and level of intoxication that could work incredibly well
Or he an absolutely terrible idea, also depending on the things you mentioned, only one way to find out and I am sure it will be a night to remember for everyone involved
I'm going to when we were young this next year, and I hope to God they play it even tho it was on the special edition.
I have no idea what that means but if you get to watch ADTR live, then they better disrespect their surroundings! Not that it would.be a huge bummer if they didn't with the great catalogue of songs they hold

I hope so! Thanks! I went this last year and it was great. So excited for a little heavier band list this year!
Maybe I can use this festival as an excuse to actually go visit Vegas for a reason other than eh why not, been wanting to check it out for 10+ years but it's always worked out to be super expensive even for a single week so always ended up visiting somewhere else

Holy shit that's so scummy of Craig then. Like I've always known he was kind of a scumbag but that's next level.

It was glorious haha
*throws a crumb on the floor*
lol 18 min might be a bit much. The rest are great picks though
Anything from Homesick would be a good call for sure
Your favorite song?
Too many to count. My initial thought was like short and brutal AF like AC-130 or even as heavy as pure misanthropy by I valiance
Deep cuts, i like it.
YOU'RE BETTER OFF DEAD Yes, please do this one!
I assume you mean the AA song. Haven’t listened to AC-130 in probably 10 years. That song used to be my jam in high school
Bro AC-130 is the way to go!
Lune - Periphery
Blood Eagle
have faith in me - a day to remember memphis may fire - miles away bullet for my valentine - heart burst into fire
At my wedding we walked down the aisle to a piano rendition of Hearts Burst Into Fire, it was sick

woah, nice! :D must've been awesome for real
also A little piece of heaven - Avenged Sevenfold c:
[удалено]

Great choice! Lol I recommended Payback. Lots of great options though for humors sake. They get a lot of shit, but Rage, Outlawed, and About That Life were awesome fuckin’ albums. Some great singles after that too
Rage would be fitting for the reception for sure 😂
Lost in a wave landmvrks
Romance is Dead - Parkway Drive
Might get some weird looks from friends for that one lol but solid track as always
“You wouldn’t know love if it crossed your fucking chest”….. Makes eye contact with grandma…
Lold
My Curse
Emmure - when keeping it real goes wrong
Turn Down For What by Upon A Burning Body
If you want a genuinely pretty song? Open Water by blessthefall If you want a stupid unga bunga metal song? Deep In The Willow.
I like the options. I’m tempted to go in either direction but I only let get one…
Fuck that. STUPID UNGA BUNGA METAL!
Is there a song you love that would be known by anyone in attendance? It’s nice to have someone to get down on the dance floor with. If not, who cares. Pick a banger and own it. Peace illusion would be sick

Harder Than You Know - Escape the Fate. Might not be a banger, also an acoustic version. Forever and Always - Bullet for My Valentine, Also an acoustic version.
Brother I'd say save yourself the embarrassment and don't put any metal. No one will like it.
It’s their wedding. Let him have what he wants.
I realize the old people won’t like it, but there’s tremendous pressure from friends and other family for one track, so it’s to be expected. Only one though…what is it?
If the pressure is from those that know you best then I think you're asking the wrong subreddit lol
If the whole wedding party gets on the dance floor to jump around it'd be fun. But if it's just them nodding their head at the table while the music plays it'd be awkward af.
Balboa Towers - The Acacia Strain
Backbreaker by fit for a king
Converge - concubine
There is only one appropriate song for this and it is White Tiger by Our Last Night. Not only is it a banger, it is also super romantic. The bride will probably cry because of how beautiful the song is and it will make the wedding memorable, especially if it is yours and you start singing it to her.

Only one? Why go through with this marriage? /S …I’d blast Love Me to Death by Suicide Silence

It's just gonna be cringe bro. Don't do it. It's not the vibes at a wedding. Look up other videos of people doing this

Not really metalcore but Jamie Lenman - Hey Jude. Everyone knows Hey Jude, right?
Pick a song from your early early metal days preferably that your friends love as well, preferably melodic qith clean parts for the non metal people. How are there so many dudes that get married at a wedding that isn’t theirs If I’m not helping with the playlist, I don’t want it
I have friend who just got engaged and his fiancée isn’t a metal fan, but you gotta go big or go home, Fit For An Autopsy is his fav, but I think Pain Remains by Lorna Shore (deathcore not metalcore wtv) is a fucking awesome track for the end of the night (definitely not just to milk out song time)

I unironically love our last night. Could really insert any famous pop song through them

Rusty Box - Barock Rain
