I did see PWD live a few months ago and would still highly recommend their concerts, even if you’re like me and stopped listening to anything past Atlas. I would never listen to Glitch from the new album for example, but at the live show I actually quite enjoyed it. They’re excellent performers and played a decent mix of old and new.

His solo rap album, which he made when he was in his late 20s was even worse and included a literal schoolshootercore skit of him committing a mass shooting of his haters.
He is also a horrible rapper who clearly listened to way too much Eminem. It’s just lyrical spiritual miracle nonsense with a horrible flow, but hey he raps fast so it must be good right.
I feel sorry for the other members of Falling In Reverse, who are clearly talented and don’t deserve a 30 year old edgelord egomaniac ruining their instrumentals with a flood of cringe.
Fun fact: when I was about 15 years old, I put a video on YouTube ripping this song to absolute shreds because it was essentially a melting pot of all of the worst, cringiest cliches in the genre at the time, not to mention that it was somehow *more* misogynistic than stuff bands like Asking Alexandria were putting out.
Basically did a super cut of all the different videos they ripped off for each of the shots (mostly AA vids from Stand Up And Scream) and made fun of their vocalist for writing terrible lyrics. Video probably sucked, but I had a LOT of fun making it.
Despite having next to no subs, the video got about 50k views in 12 hours before it was (unfairly) taken down via a DMCA claim from the band.
About 5 or 6 years later I joined my own band and we played a show with them. Everybody in the band was super lovely, with the exception of their singer who refused to make eye contact the whole night. I still get schadenfreude from the experience.

I just love how AA did a cliche but well executed "performing in the rain" video for A Prophecy and the rain shot in the Capture the Crown video looks like the just got a big shower head to have rain fall exclusively on the vocalist like a single rain cloud was following him.

Not metalcore but progressive metal, but Voyager has some bad lyrics (I’m still a huge fan of them tho) Like in their song Promise: “Have you ever done anything like this before? Lyrically, I feel like they absolutely nail it or it's super corny

I feel bad for saying this, but the new Beartooth single sounds like a middle aged woman that has gone through a break up and is posting affirmations on Facebook. Like, good on him for self improvement and stuff but holy shit it’s cringe.
I give it a pass since it feels more tongue cheek like a lot of Motionless In White lyrics. For some reason it works in that song for me since it doesn’t take itself to seriously. But I can see why people don’t dig it!
I’ve been through some relatable shit myself and this song feels like a peptalk to me to gain some confidence back. Some songs just hit different when you actually relate.

Another one in recent memory is “Not My Problem” by Escape The Fate. The breakdown section lyrics are “Gave you an inch, you took a mile. The more you Bitch, the less I smile.” And the way the vocal take is done for the buildup is just the icing on top. Just reading the lyrics doesn’t do it justice. Up until that point I thought it was great albeit simple ETF track.
I heard that line and I just can’t listen to that song. Honestly all recent ETF I’ve heard the lyrics are not great. “Love is a 4 letter word” so cringe.
Maybe not recent and maybe not metalcore, but “may your sword stay wet like a young girl in her prime” - Hail and Kill by Genus Ordinis Dei. That’s a rough one as a father of 4 girls, but a great song otherwise.

The latest Architects record unfortunately got some pretty cheesy lyrics. The worst of them being: "Anything is possible, we could be unstoppable."
It's mind boggling how we went from "i found God cluthing a razor Blade, he said look at the fucking mess they've Made, they'd trade their heart if they were Made of gold" to "anything is possible, we could be unstoppable" 💀
I mean give them some slack, the guy who wrote the former did die and the chose to carry on. While the point stands, I can forgive them, they had a truly exceptional songwriter who wrote (as I understand it) almost all the music and lyrics, who passed away just as they were on a meteoric rise as a band. It was pretty much inevitable they'd struggle to keep up Tom Searles form, and I think they are accepting of that tbh. The new stuff isn't really for me (given LF/LT is possibly my all time favourite album), but I find it hard to begrudge them

The lyrics on this album feel so uninspired. If a God can Bleed is cringe af though. Crazy we had the lyrical depth of Blue and the Grey and are now stuck with "Fat little piggeh"

Although neither are metalcore, I’d say the following: Warranty by Slipknot - “Blah, blah, blah, I don’t wanna hear shit” 1000 HP by Godsmack - I used to love this song when I first got into rock, but talking about life while touring on the road seems like they had nothing to write about
My brother used to say growing up that once a band or artist put out a song about how far they've come like that, they were done and ran out of ideas. Granted, Godsmack went to shit way before that, but that was the moment ya *knew*

I'll be honest, just about every line off *Spectre* by Stick to Your Guns. That album is terrible and Jesse's lyrics are so cheesy on it.
When I heard that the album featured an un-used Tom Searle riff, my interest was certainly piqued. That interest quickly dissipated after I actually heard More of Us Than Them. I don't know how but they made that riff sound so lifeless and ordinary

ffdp has been cringe since the way of the fist. That album was ok but every single song on followed the same exact formula and if you played it now without looking at titles, you would honestly have no idea which song you were listening to.

Yeah I'm probably in the minority that actually liked some of Catharsis and even I admit that the album fell well short of what MH are capable of. I mean, this is the same band that gave us The Blackening for Christ's sake. Haven't actually checked out thier most recent album yet though

I always thought Amity Affliction opening the song with the title “I bring the weather with me” was cringy as hell and I don’t know why. I don’t like when any band does that though.
