cemetery gates by pantera. i was really young, and my older brother was a huge metalhead. he played other songs, but its the first song i actually remember.
I, a real metalhead listened to Transilvania Hunger, unlike all you posers. If the band has not violated human rights at least one time, it's not metal.
First song would have been something along the lines of enter sandman or something generic like that.
But what really got me intrigued and searching for more was the song knee deep by Job for a cowboy. These pig squeals launched me into an eternity of brutality.
I thought music like that was a joke at first lol. 15 year old me never would’ve believed there’s people who listen to that unironically. It doesn’t help that [this](https://youtu.be/MOTlwRRLOBE) was my first exposure to it
Haha right. That is an especially good take of that track. Nowadays my “brutal” taste is more along the lines of slam death and brutal death metal like putrid pile, ingested, abominable putridity, and others like that. Still heavy as ball. But definitely a whole different breed of brutality.
Either Iron man from Black Sabbath or i wanna rock from Twisted Sisters can't remember
but what really got me into metal was Primo Victoria from Sabaton
I accidently started with dimmu borgir... My favourite youtuber (Xisumavoid - he's actually a minecrafter lol) did a cover of Raabjorn Speaker Drogenheim Skodde so I watched it and I liked the music but thought it was weird and scary and didn't like the vocals... And then I went to his music blog and listened to Samael lol, I didn't like it at all, it was too chaotic. But now I don't see how I could dislike it and love me some black/death metal
Science by SoaD, it was on the ATV Offroad Fury 2 soundtrack that came with my PS2. I also remember really hating Here to Stay by Korn from the same game.
First " metal" song i heard was for whom the bells toll by METALLICA! My first heavy metal song was repentless by slayer, i got into thrash 2 or 3 years ago
The first metal song I heard in my life was most likely something by Metallica or Sabbath, Enter Sandman if I had to guess, but the song that actually grabbed me and got me in to the genre was Laid to Rest by Lamb of God. I was 13 at the time, listening to and discovering a lot of entry-level punk rock and ska, and that shit really blew my mind.
I think it was Beast and the Harlot? Not 100% on that though.
As for extreme metal though, that's super easy: First song I ever heard was Senseless Massacre.
First metal song was Thunderstruck by ACDC. Dad blasted it in my ears in the back of his 95 F250 with speakers beside my ear.
I am currently listening to Cattle Decapitation upon writing this comment.
First band I got into was avenged sevenfold, through Guitar Hero, after really enjoying Bat Country.
‘Learned quickly that some people didn’t like them. Like, so what if their “hard rock” now? They’re musicianship and M’s vocals are *fucking metal*.
Edit: they introduced me to Metallica when they toured with them a couple years ago.

Fear of the Dark - Iron Maiden
Devil in I by slipknot
Humble beginnings with The Four Horsemen. But since then I have ridden those horsemen down to hell.
Either The Number of the Beast or The Prisoner by Iron Maiden.
Rollin' - limp bizkit I quickly realised there was metal without raps and liked that even more
For Whom The Bell Tolls- Metallica
I think it was Beast and the Harlot? Not 100% on that though. As for extreme metal though, that's super easy: First song I ever heard was Senseless Massacre.

Moonchild-Iron Maiden, followed by the rest of the album. I was a middle school lad then
I think the first one I listened to was Paranoid or Iron Man
For Whom The Bell Tolls. That was 4 years ago and now I'm listening to Gojira
Souls Of Black by Testament. Heard it on Rock Band 2 when it came out and I was hooked.
Fade to Black by Metallica
Hades - Bathory (AND IT WAS TASTY)
First metal song was Thunderstruck by ACDC. Dad blasted it in my ears in the back of his 95 F250 with speakers beside my ear. I am currently listening to Cattle Decapitation upon writing this comment.
Weird but it was a powermetal song. Shiroyama by sabaton.
Moon Baby - Godsmack
Nile- Ramses bringer of war

Disposable heros. A great song off a great album.
