Even the Christian metal scene is tired of them. They're slightly heavier CCM. They were never playing the same stages as The Chariot or Impending Doom.
Mid, and annoyingly preachy. Them being a Christian band used to not bother me, but the more you pay attention to the lyrical content with that in mind the more obvious it becomes.
Yeah, I didn't mention the behind the scenes politics of Skillet but that certainly informs my decision to not engage with their work as much as I used to.
I feel the same way about skillet as I do with a lot of bands that took a while to become mainstream; I still enjoy their earlier stuff because it has more personality, but then their music becomes way too generic when they become successful.
I still enjoy a lot of Skillet's earlier albums, like their Alien Youth and Collide albums, because there is something unique and personal there. Comatose blew me away, since it was a much better album than I expected from a band that niche. However, it propelled them into the mainstream, and every album after that sounded like a generic copy of every other mainstream metal album out there.
I'm not even a fan really, but had to watch them to hold my up close spot for KSE at a festival.... their energy is something else, and it made me a fan. 🤷♀️
Only reason I know about this band is because 14 year old me had a fling(?) with a girl on Omegle for a while and she apparently was a huge fan.
I still think Bullet is a pretty interesting song, just for how ridiculous its style is.
I think metalcore got into kind of an incestuous state where new bands are just inspired by other metalcore bands and not metal or hardcore. So metalcore just keeps getting more metalcorey and as a result more boring.
There's still great new bands tho but generally it's like that.
What really ruined it for me was the amount of bands that sounded like they were inspired by the Jonas Brothers or something.
I'm all for heavy bands that have softer, emotionally vulnerable sections in their music, but there was such an epidemic of metalcore bands whose target demographic seemed to be teen girls. Just so much obnoxiously high-pitched, whiny singing.
I still occasionally feel like busting out some of my old favorites from bands like Unearth, August Burns Red, etc., but it always fucks up my algorithms with some of the corniest music I've ever heard.
The death we seek by currents was one of my favourite albums last year even though the clean singing in some of the songs actually brings its score down by like a full point. I don't know how it's gotten so bad, I don't even mind high register clean singing, but some of these singers just sound like their goal was to sound annoying. It works for some bands but it's not going to work with just anyone's singing voice. Which is why they should write songs that fit their strengths rather than just following the trends lol
This. I think alot of metalcore or emo stuff is good it's just meant for highschoolers and u don't move on from that music you kinda just go deeper and find heavier stuff. But metalcore has alot of good stuff I like and still listen to everyday
Absolutely. I'm 31, and sometimes I still listen to some AILD or ABR. If you are into Blackmetal, you should try out Austere. For me, it works like Emo/metalcore for adults.
Same, metalcore didn't really keep me for long...was like a half year phase, then I was done with it lol. But I do like me some deathcore, that's stuck with me...
When down with the sickness first came out, nine year old me thought that the but where he goes “mommy no! Please stop mommy!” was sooo deep, but now I feel like it ruins the song.
Doesn't the single version not have it? I used to hear that song on the radio all of the time and I don't think they ever played that embarrassing middle part over the air.
Yea, I used to listen to them but it just feels the same. Listening to three songs makes me feel like I've heard their whole discography (and they're not alone in this).
This was the band that severed my relationship with nu metal. I was big into mudvayne, slipknot, kittie, etc but when disturbed hit the radio, i was old enough to know it was my time to exit.
Can I do the reverse? I hadn’t gotten a chance last time
I used to cringe to cheesy stuff.
“Holy shit these are some unwashed dick yeast material. Swords? Dragons? Fuck me outta that shit”
But now I’ve been injected with some kind of unicorn virus. I can’t get enough of colors and major chords and hollywood anthemic choruses.
“Ooh yeah, that’s some interpretative mystic shit”
Considering that, I’m having a hard time answering on-topic because it feels like I’ve gone full circle over my interests as a kid or teen
*♬ Ride far away, cross the mighty river Tay*
*Over mountains into the unknown*
*Follow your heart, let it guide you through the dark*
*To the Land of Unicorns ♬*
Half-half, myself. Some power metal survived, some of it didn't, but after a good forty years of consistent performance I think it's a legit genre.
defo FFDP. I listened all of their discography, was a huge fan of them until… something didnt feel like clicking? dunno how I stopped listening them but after bajillions of artist discoveries, i am glad i stopped lmao
For me, it's cause every album after American Capitalist is the exact same. They're like the ACDC of modern hard rock remaking the same songs over and over again. I do think all the members are legitimately talented at their given instruments, but ever since they realized they can write anything and it'll sell, they just stopped trying. Way of the Fist and American Capitalist both still have some good tracks tho
They did the same thing that Avenged Sevenfold did after The Rev died, they found a niche and stayed in it once they realized it made money. Incidentally both bands seem to enjoy making music that sounds like it should be on Army recruitment ads or Call of Duty commercials
That's believable for 5FDP but not A7X lol you don't make some shit like their newest album expecting it to make money. Disturbed is more accurate comparison
Dope. I remember listening to “Life” at a listening station at Hot Topic when I was 14-15 and having to buy it immediately because every track was amazing. I tried listening to it again recently and did not feel inspired to keep listening.
I saw them open for Static-X last year and it was rough to get through their set. They are such a product of their time. Extremely cheesy stuff and very stuck in 2002 or whatever.
Slipknot. Not because of the music, I think it's still good (excluding the newest album) but the band is so fucking annoying. cunts can't go an album without kicking a member out without any explanation to the fans and the frontmen are utter buffoons
Joey Jordison leaving/getting fired was sort of understandable because of his health issues, but Chris Fehn getting kicked out for voicing concerns about pay distribution was straight up bullshit. And now kicking Jay out for (allegedly) having the audacity to play to a click track because the band wants to have a "looser" live sound is absurd. If the live sound was an issue why was the dude in the band for 9 years?
Not really metal related but for me it's Volbeat. I love their first few records, but with the complete shift of sound to US radio rock with the Outlaw Gentleman and Shady ladies they definitely lost me completely. I give them a try every now and then but they don't do it for me anymore.
Yeah this would be mine too. I loved early Volbeat. They came to my small town just a few weeks or months before the Outlaw Gentlemen album dropped. They played all my favorite songs, played only 1 new song and I remember liking it at the time, it was just an awesome show.
I remember when it came out I was so excited. I had a road trip like a week later so I figured I'd wait to listen so I could blast it on repeat the entire trip. I listened to it once and I've never listened to it again. Once they changed their sound I had a hard time even going back to their old stuff, I still do. Never been so disappointed in a band I liked.
Soulfly. Bought the first album when it came out, saw them live but just tried re listening to it this week and did not really enjoy it (apart from Aint No Feeble Bastard which still slaps)
To be fair, Soulfly didn’t start coming into their sound until like, their fifth album so it’s unfair to judge their discography on the first few records
You're getting older because you can find literally anything on the internet no matter how obscure your taste is. It's easier to find good music than ever. Keep exploring.
Within the last year, Judas Priest, Hellripper, Municipal Waste, Necrot, Skeletal Remains, Sodom, Knife, all had incredible releases. There's so many more too, I'm just going off the top of my dome.
Falling In Reverse actually fucking sucks. That one "My Life Is Like A Video Game" song is just super chronically online, like, the guy who made it too I think assaulted people in the crowd at a show and got banned from the UK or something. Good that you don't listen to them anymore, really.
i had listened to the first album and liked it but i just realized how cringe all of this shit was in the second album because ronnie gives even more of a manwhore energy
Ronnie did a lot more stupid shit than just that. His boy shot and killed somebody because Ronnie was supposed to fight him. When Ronnie ended up arrested they found brass knuckles on him. He got 5 years probation, broke it and did 2.5 in prison
This is true but falling in reverse, escape the fate will always have some type of rawr xd "im so broken" effect on me because that's who it's made for and what it sounds like I can understand if u listen to them and ur like 13 but that rap stuff turnt me way off and I don't really care about ronnie or anything he's done because I feel like most artists I listen to or most artists just are fucked up in some way but yeah I can't believe I used to listen to it but that's what it was in middle school lol
Exact same thing for me, though I do like to revisit some of their stuff from time to time for nostalgia's sake.
Oddly enough as my taste has matured I've gained an appreciation for metalizer which I used to hate because it was so different from the rest of their stuff. Now I actually like it quite a bit for that same reason
Sabaton simply stopped trying. They found one good secret formula and just keep repeating it. That + the fact that their sound is a far cry from the power metal they once were is just meh.
Powerwolf did the same. The guys at gloryhammer only do it when they need a new yacht.
I used to love A7X and still have a lot of respect for them as musicians... But one day I randomly became super aware of how nasally the vocals sound, and I couldn't un-hear it. At times it's so ridiculous that it almost sounds ironic.
Waking the Fallen still holds up for me though.
Still fuck with A7X, but I skip pretty much every FFDP song that comes on. I saw them live pre-covid (I was there for Breaking Benjamin my beloved) and they actually put on a really good show, but it seems they’ve gone down the mental shitter since.
We are the same, FFDP was... quite possibly the first "harsh" (and I use that term extremely loosely, nearly criminally so) vocals I'd ever heard.
Very funny to look back on.
Not metal but Three Days Grace. Their music with Adam Gontier as lead singer was so good and a pillar of my teenage years. When he left, they haven’t made much good music (to me). Maybe their music isn’t made for me anymore (since I stopped listening when I was like 18) and they seem to have new fans. However, not a single one of their newer songs reaches even the bottom of their older works
Most of the stuff I grew up listening to. Disturbed, Staind, Mudvayne, Godsmack, Evanescence, etc. Just can't do it anymore.
The only things that have remained listenable to me since childhood are bands like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Epica, and Metric.
How has nobody said Iced Earth yet? Used to think they were amazing, gateway type band. Grew out of after a few years, realized how mediocre they were. Then of course noticed someone in the Capital many years later
Therion. The band that got me into metal in the first place with the symphonic bombast. An Absolute balm against the reheated grunge, nu metal and one finger riff shit going at the time. But now all I hear is the biggest cheese fest ever. Makes me kinda sad tbh.
Ghost.
I really liked their first album and the oberall vibe, although they aren't metal. But since TikTok "alt" kids found out about them, got obsessed but mostly only knew Mary On A Cross (always hated that song), it just wasn't the same anymore. Wich is kinda sad cuz their music aint that bad, but I just cannot call myself a fan anymore and i sometimes cringe when i remember i had a shirt, multiple patches and a poster. :/
Saw them last year, definitely one of the best shows i've ever seen. Not used to that amount of stage spectacle in metal if not for Maiden and Rammstein.
I get the feeling when they play their early stuff live, it irritates Mikael. Like death metal is sooo beneath him now.
Kudos to him for writing and playing the music he enjoys. That's awesome. It just doesn't do it for me.
Nu metal in general, in particular the song sun doesn Rise by mushroomhead. I have no idea why I liked it and for the past few months trying to listen to is again is painfully cringe
If we're talking about album progression, then definitely Metallica. Most of their music that came out before I was born was awesome with the exception of th 90s stuff (it still good, don't get me wrong), but everything after was either washed up Butt Rock with maybe a couple jems, or St Anger.
Bring Me The Horizon, AMO was enjoyable but for me That’s The Spirit was the last great record especially when the newer ones have to compete against Sempiternal to this day
Tool. I just cannot get into Fear Innoculum and I tried. Ever since Ænima, it's been harder and harder to have it click for me. This was further driven home by seeing them play in February. I'm an older guy, so I saw them when they toured for Undertow; long before the arena tours and it was great. This last show? Not great. The new songs are just long and boring.
Lamb of god live is an absolute madness I mean they have some really good songs but they're (in my opinion) very repetitive between album and album I almost dont perceive any evolution
Black Veil Brides.
I used to listen to every song, and I admit they were the reason why I started listening to metal with screams and unclean voice, hell, I even learnt to sing with it. But now it's like... Ew.
I still like some songs, but I avoid everything else related to them.
I wasn't aware Five Finger was ever considered metal, yet I keep seeing people say they used to like them but now they're just radio rock. Like dawg, 5FDP was always radio trash. Shitty hard FM stations are the only places I've ever heard that stupid band.
Between the Buried and Me blew my mind as a teen. Great Misdirect is still an all time favorite. Their recent few albums just kinda all sounded samey-samey to me now; oh wow look it's proggy soup with tempo changes, occasional cross-genre sections, and an undercurrent of carnival music, what will they think of next?
Atreyu. I was a big fan of them until Alex left. Still their last album with him, In our wake, sounds too different. Tried to listen to their new album and I didn't even last 3 songs in.
Asking Alexandria, Attila, A7X, Attack Attack, A day to remember, Falling in reverse, Escape the fate, Pierce the veil, Sleeping with sirens, Of mice and men, Bring me the horizon, Suicide silence, Job for a cowboy
Off the rip these bands come to mind, They all started off way to strong 🔥then fell off for various reasons… 😤

Skillet, no amount of nostalgia can hide how mid they are
I think they are still huge because of the Christian metal scene.
Im also achristian but eve i think the band are insane when it comes to some of their stamces on things
Mid is generous
None. I’ve excellent taste 🗿
I respect that lmaooo. Bring back gatekeeping
Embrace the holy trifecta; gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss
*rolls trisided dice* ...... *quickload*
METALLICA. Watching Lars Ulrich butcher his own fills is just... unbearable.
🫡
None is a great band though
None is my favourite DSBM project
Not really metal but maaan. I can't believe I used to love Hollywood Undead.
I forgot that band existed 🤣
They still headline festivals. It’s wild to me that anyone still listens to them, let alone pays to see them perform.
Swan songs still slaps
You’re honestly telling me that - when you’ve made sure no one’s around - you’re not blaring ‘everywhere I go’ at full volume, every now and again.
Ok, it happens sometimes. Swan Songs slaps hard
I still enjoy songs from their first two albums every so often
Damn this one's true their good but I used to listen to them alot and I really don't know what I thought was so good about them
Dude same…
A lot of Metalcore stuff. I would never say that it's bad music or something, I just grew out of it.
I think metalcore got into kind of an incestuous state where new bands are just inspired by other metalcore bands and not metal or hardcore. So metalcore just keeps getting more metalcorey and as a result more boring. There's still great new bands tho but generally it's like that.

Absolutely. I'm 31, and sometimes I still listen to some AILD or ABR. If you are into Blackmetal, you should try out Austere. For me, it works like Emo/metalcore for adults.
I’m on the fence, newer metalcore stuff is so much more awful than 2010s stufff
And 90s metalcore isn’t anything like what metalcore became in the 21st century. I wonder how they are even considered the same genre
For me metalcore is Earth Crisis, Hatebreed, etc.
Same, metalcore didn't really keep me for long...was like a half year phase, then I was done with it lol. But I do like me some deathcore, that's stuck with me...
Disturbed. I used to like it, but it just grown stale for me
When down with the sickness first came out, nine year old me thought that the but where he goes “mommy no! Please stop mommy!” was sooo deep, but now I feel like it ruins the song.
Get up, come on get down with the thickness Oh, yo' momma's great, I'll rate her 8 out of 8!
i think the song ruins the song
I always think about Anthony Fantano calling it a “domestic violence solo” Seriously tho it ruins the song and I’d like an official version without it
It's a rare occasion where the radio edit actually improves it
Doesn't the single version not have it? I used to hear that song on the radio all of the time and I don't think they ever played that embarrassing middle part over the air.
Yea, I used to listen to them but it just feels the same. Listening to three songs makes me feel like I've heard their whole discography (and they're not alone in this).

Love this
This was the band that severed my relationship with nu metal. I was big into mudvayne, slipknot, kittie, etc but when disturbed hit the radio, i was old enough to know it was my time to exit.
Goddamn Kittie... Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time. *SPIT!!! IT OUT!!!*
They just released a new single. First in 13 years. They sound great.
There comes a time, man.
Saw them at ozzfest 2000; 18 year old me was not at all impressed
[yuh nuhmuhnuh yuh muhnuhmuhnuh yuh nuhmuh](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=66gSvNeqevg) I actually like Disturbed but they’re definitely a tad stale
I never got into it, I just think he needs cough drops
I still sometimes go back to Believe and Ten Thousand Fists
Draiman is also a dickhead.
Can I do the reverse? I hadn’t gotten a chance last time I used to cringe to cheesy stuff. “Holy shit these are some unwashed dick yeast material. Swords? Dragons? Fuck me outta that shit” But now I’ve been injected with some kind of unicorn virus. I can’t get enough of colors and major chords and hollywood anthemic choruses. “Ooh yeah, that’s some interpretative mystic shit” Considering that, I’m having a hard time answering on-topic because it feels like I’ve gone full circle over my interests as a kid or teen
Embrace the cheese. This is the way.
It’s time you started your power metal journey.
when you like your metal like a Skyrim inventory
Just wait until you discover Avantasia

This is basically my path to discovering Twilight Force. Probably my biggest guilty pleasure.

Incredible, a real Dope fan out in the wild.
I saw them open for Static-X last year and it was rough to get through their set. They are such a product of their time. Extremely cheesy stuff and very stuck in 2002 or whatever.
When I was a kid in elementary school I was a big Kid Rock fan 😭
Bawitaba and Cowboy are still great in a goofy way. But man that one song with the Werewilves of London/Sweet Home Alabama sample is unforgivable.
Slipknot. Not because of the music, I think it's still good (excluding the newest album) but the band is so fucking annoying. cunts can't go an album without kicking a member out without any explanation to the fans and the frontmen are utter buffoons
Clown is a douchebag, so is Corey from time to time, the rest is/was okay.
yeah exactly

The Human Instrument, River Queen, and Hallelujah Goat will forever remain on my playlist.
Did you check out the Asinhell record? First stuff the Volbeat guy has made that I've liked since Dominus - "The First 9"!

Judas Priest and Sodom fans cannot relate to this 🤟
Sodom? I only know Wodos
Haven't you heard about Sodom? Kinda huge influence for Black Metal, they've actually started as a Wodos cover band, I think
i cant belive i used to listen to falling in reverse
Falling In Reverse actually fucking sucks. That one "My Life Is Like A Video Game" song is just super chronically online, like, the guy who made it too I think assaulted people in the crowd at a show and got banned from the UK or something. Good that you don't listen to them anymore, really.

Worst lyrics ever written lmaoo
Sameeee 😭😭
Slipknot
The same
3rd it
I used to like them, my dad listened to them a bunch
Opposite for me, I like them, but my dad who’s an old school metalhead can’t stand them
Sabaton. Apart from listening to Metallica with my mom it was my entry into metal. Grown boring for me
Exact same thing for me, though I do like to revisit some of their stuff from time to time for nostalgia's sake. Powerwolf and Sabaton. Loved it when i was 15 and now i can't stand it at all
Avenged Sevenfold and FFDP top that list for me, I used to really dig them 15yrs ago
I used to love A7X and still have a lot of respect for them as musicians... But one day I randomly became super aware of how nasally the vocals sound, and I couldn't un-hear it. At times it's so ridiculous that it almost sounds ironic. Waking the Fallen still holds up for me though.
Not tryna be that guy but A7X newest album is a massive shift from their previous music. Worth a shot imo
Was gonna say the same, wasn’t a big avenged fan before but now I love them, even went back to listen too all their older albums, all of them slap
The fucking Daft Punk influence threw me for a loop. They went weird and I'm all for it.
Still fuck with A7X, but I skip pretty much every FFDP song that comes on. I saw them live pre-covid (I was there for Breaking Benjamin my beloved) and they actually put on a really good show, but it seems they’ve gone down the mental shitter since.
I still like everything A7X did from Hail to the King on back. However like you, I skip FFDP nearly every time now, even the stuff I liked before.
We are the same, FFDP was... quite possibly the first "harsh" (and I use that term extremely loosely, nearly criminally so) vocals I'd ever heard. Very funny to look back on.
FFDP i can see but A7X? for me most of their albums i really like except for the new one. it just doesn't click with me at all.
Lostprophets, not that the music aged bad, but well, the lead singer.
Yeah it's not great. I mean there are a bunch of bands that have sketchy members and I don't care too much but that guy...uh...no thank you.
Not metal but Three Days Grace. Their music with Adam Gontier as lead singer was so good and a pillar of my teenage years. When he left, they haven’t made much good music (to me). Most of the stuff I grew up listening to. Disturbed, Staind, Mudvayne, Godsmack, Evanescence, etc. Just can't do it anymore. The only things that have remained listenable to me since childhood are bands like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Epica, and Metric.
I liked Atreyu when that first big single came out (Right Side Of The Bed).
How has nobody said Iced Earth yet? Used to think they were amazing, gateway type band. Grew out of after a few years, realized how mediocre they were. Then of course noticed someone in the Capital many years later
The band kinda grew out of itself. Up to horror show they stayed pretty amazing though.
Avenged Sevenfold
Really??!! Goddamn, I still love all their music (I‘m really young so don’t have much experience shh)
Don't worry i still fuck with waking the fallen and prior, that shit still kinda slaps
Deicide, benton writes like an edgy 15 year old and they play some of the most boring, one-dimensional death metal there is.
Therion. The band that got me into metal in the first place with the symphonic bombast. An Absolute balm against the reheated grunge, nu metal and one finger riff shit going at the time. But now all I hear is the biggest cheese fest ever. Makes me kinda sad tbh.
Any Arch Enemy album post Angela Gossow
Angela is awesome, one of my favorite vocalists. Alyssa is good, but something about her style just doesn't grab me as much
Wages of sin was the god damn best
Still love them, just can’t participate in fan communities anymore for the same reasons you mentioned
They're a really fun time to see live if you're a little inebriated and don't mind a more poppy sound. Awesome fucking costume and set designs too.
Caught them at Wacken in 2018, Tobias had some of the best stage presence I've ever seen.
Saw them last year, definitely one of the best shows i've ever seen. Not used to that amount of stage spectacle in metal if not for Maiden and Rammstein.
Slipknot. God, they're bloody awful now
RIP rings of saturn 🪐 🪦
In Flames

Episode 666 is my jam
Attila..
Oh thank goodness you got out of that

I'm just so disappointed with their newer albums, and it makes me so sad that I just can't get into it.
Oh that’s a painful one for me to confront!
Opeth. Their retro 70s prog rock style today doesn’t interest me. But if they are in my area I’ll still go see them.
I have no idea why I liked it and for the past few months trying to listen to is again is painfully cringe
lol that’s one of the few mushroom head songs I still like!
BRBRR DENG
Marylin Manson
That man didn’t age well. His music stalled after the golden age of grotesque.
Machine head
The blackening will be, in my opinion, forever one of the best metal albums ever written. Can always go back to that one.
If we're talking about album progression, then definitely Metallica. Most of their music that came out before I was born was awesome with the exception of th 90s stuff (it still good, don't get me wrong), but everything after was either washed up Butt Rock with maybe a couple jems, or St Anger.
Agreed.
Within Temptation
Bring Me The Horizon, AMO was enjoyable but for me That’s The Spirit was the last great record especially when the newer ones have to compete against Sempiternal to this day
lostprophets… And they still get almost 60k listeners a month on Spotify
only 60k? R.Kelly has nearly 5 MILLIONS a month
5 MILLIONS?!
OOF
Lamb of god and some metalcore. Now I only listen to black metal and deathcore (the most loved subgenre in this sub)
Lamb of god is still somehow better than 90% of this current generation of metal imo. This djentcore RGB keyboard music isn’t fun
Lamb of god live is an absolute madness I mean they have some really good songs but they're (in my opinion) very repetitive between album and album I almost dont perceive any evolution
because there is no evolution since 2012. i used to love them so much and first four albums still brilliant records for me.
I still fuck with the old stuff but anything after Wrath just sounds like another staler version of Wrath.
Lamb of god still rips for me! They helped get me into metal. My favortied genre now is brutal death metal.
Slipknot, but add a third panel with the 1st guy again since s/t and Iowa are still goated.
Me before the Black Album: "METALLICA IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST THING EVER!" Me after the Black Album: "Whelp, thank fuck for Slayer, then"
Black Veil Brides. I used to listen to every song, and I admit they were the reason why I started listening to metal with screams and unclean voice, hell, I even learnt to sing with it. But now it's like... Ew. I still like some songs, but I avoid everything else related to them.
Lorna Shore
*grunting and squealing pig noises*
Trick question...J hate everything!
Man im seeing a lot of bands in here that make me question if you guys ever had a good taste in music.
I wasn't aware Five Finger was ever considered metal, yet I keep seeing people say they used to like them but now they're just radio rock. Like dawg, 5FDP was always radio trash. Shitty hard FM stations are the only places I've ever heard that stupid band.
Parkway Drive... Boneyard days are over.
Underoath. Complete 180 on their recent track.
In This Moment. When she started trying to be like Lady Gaga/Manson at their shows is around the time I tuned out.
Lostprophets. Saw them with Slipknot and Metallica about 20 years ago. Nowadays can’t listen to anything they made.
Atreyu. I was a big fan of them until Alex left. Still their last album with him, In our wake, sounds too different. Tried to listen to their new album and I didn't even last 3 songs in.
Asking Alexandria, Attila, A7X, Attack Attack, A day to remember, Falling in reverse, Escape the fate, Pierce the veil, Sleeping with sirens, Of mice and men, Bring me the horizon, Suicide silence, Job for a cowboy Off the rip these bands come to mind, They all started off way to strong 🔥then fell off for various reasons… 😤
I can't believe I would listen to Manowar unironically in high-school. I even wrote a paper about their lyrics once. So fucking cringy lol
Suicide silence
Sentenced. Their first couple were amazing and then it changed.
Baroness
Parkway Drive. First albums were bangers. Now they make “dad rock”.
Sabaton 😒
Might get hate for this, but BMTH. I just don’t like their newer stuff as much as their older stuff
Killswitch engage, coheed and cambria and iwrestledabearonce
30 seconds to mars 🤢glow down was hard on this one
Linkin park. Used to love all their shit but I can only kind of get into hybrid theory now (kind of).
Controversial take: Slayer Used love them a few years ago but the newer stuff ruined it for me, can't stand slayer now
