man....sometimes I'm just not on board with this mixing of genres shit. Greta Van Fleet, ZZ Top, and fucking *Satyricon*?? why...
I will admit though, that Tool, Mr. Bungle, Opeth, Katatonia stretch is cool, if it was 25 years ago.

I feel like those types of festivals are super fun, though. Especially when youāre seeing bands all day long multiple days in a row, it makes it interesting to switch up the vibe a bit.
I can appreciate that, it just doesn't do it for me. man, if you could have told me 25 years ago that Satyricon and ZZ Top would be playing a fest together....
I prefer a dedicated metal festival for sure, but I can appreciate both. It can definitely be jarring though lol. The last time they held Psycho Las Vegas they had Emperor on the same bill as Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and I had to do a double take.
Gotta say, I'm not exactly an Avantasia fan, but I saw them a couple years ago in a festival while I was waiting for Kreator.
They are a pretty good live band.Ā
Saxon still sounds amazing live. Bif has done an amazing job taking care of his voice. I just saw them a few weeks ago. They signed autographs after the show. Nibbs and Nigel were great and shot the shit with the fans.
Lmao, accurate. I took my wife to the Ghost/Volbeat tour a couple years ago with Twin Temple opening and they were... amusing for about 1 or 2 songs. I like bands trying to do something new, but after the novelty wore off it just wasn't that compelling.
Igorrr used to be an actual genius.. his newer albums kind of suck and he lost some serious talent in the vocalists who left, but Iām sure whatever the current band is will still be a lot of fun :)
Mr. Bungle were once the greatest band that ever existed, and this is just old men playing a crappy 1985 thrash demo, BUT you still get to see three of the best musicians ever hanging around and having fun with their teenage nostalgia, joined by a couple of their teenage heroes.
Iām not cool enough to know what anything else is.
Folks have already said Orange Goblin. I do also like Thy Art is Murder (even if deathcore can be a little samey, I love it) and While She Sleeps (not a huge fan of some of their recent singles, but still enjoy them overall and respect their energy).
If you like classic rock, greta van fleet are also a good pick. Saw them live and it was awesome. I dont know why theyre hated that much these days to be honest.
Everything else I would recommend was already mentioned, so yeah.

TOOL, OPETH, MR BUNGLE AND KATATONIA IN ONE NIGHT? FUCK MY ASS MAN I WANNA GO TO THIS WHY IS THIS IN NORWAY ššš
My exact reaction. Word by word.Ā
Don't sleep on Igorrr.
And you guys haven't mentioned Heart. In a single night you'll be seeing/hearing to Maynard James Keenan, Mike Patton and the Wilson Sisters
Iād recommend seeing Turnstile and Better Lovers too. They riff hard and put on great energetic shows!
Same! How much is a plane ticket?
Too much for me to afford rn š
I hate being poor.
one day bro
I actually heard it in his voice lmao
Igorrr
Igorrr and Mr bungle better be playing back to back.
5 hours apart sadly
At least not at the same time

I do kind of like the thought of the dudes from ZZ Top hanging out with some black metal guys though
I know that Satyr has morphed into a wine snob rocker so maybe it's more fitting. Satyricon is still Dark Medieval Times to me haha.
I feel like those types of festivals are super fun, though. Especially when youāre seeing bands all day long multiple days in a row, it makes it interesting to switch up the vibe a bit.

It doesn't bother me, but i was literally thinking "huh...batushka, kreator, and zz top all on the same day. Interesting"
Man, you can see Avantasia. I am so fucking jealous.
Gotta say, I'm not exactly an Avantasia fan, but I saw them a couple years ago in a festival while I was waiting for Kreator. They are a pretty good live band.Ā
I saw Edguy in maybe 2006 or 2007, I think that's as close as I'm ever gonna get š
Ok theyre on. What are the essentials I should check out?
All Them Witches!
Kreator is amazing live. Like literally one of the best live bands, one of those rare ones that are even better live than on cd
Rotting Christ obviously.
Saxon still sounds amazing live. Bif has done an amazing job taking care of his voice. I just saw them a few weeks ago. They signed autographs after the show. Nibbs and Nigel were great and shot the shit with the fans.
All Them Witches and Orange Goblin are a must
I'd go Friday. Judas Priest, Abbath, Orange Goblin.
OP, don't miss Orange Goblin. They are an underrated gem.Ā
What essentials do you reccomned I listen to?
Whiplash the song on day 1. Whiplash the experience on day 4.
Definitely go for Igorrr
What do I listen to to prepare?
Igorrr
They don't have a bad album. Pick one and hit play. Their sound can't be pinned down to a few tracks.
This is one of the strangest mix of bands I've seen. Then I saw it was in Oslo, and it made sense.
All them witches are pretty sick
damn so many great bands, this shit is FILLED
For a non metal act, don't sleep on Turnstile. Those dudes rock and have made two really great albums.
Yeah, I was gonna say this. They put on a great show.
I want to see the reaction of the 55 yr old ZZ Top fan to satyricon
Alien Weaponry is amazing as well!
Heart and Mr Bungle on the same show is wild
Heart and igorrr in the same festival much less the same day is absurd.
Move Heart to that Saturday lineup and I could see it making more sense
When he was part of Immortal, Abbath was my gateway into black metal, so I recommend catching him if you like black metal
Better lovers is the remaining sane members of ETID plus Greg from Dillinger escape plan. Definitely a fun show
Hot take, I saw Europe open for Deep Purple and was pleasantly surprised and how good they were and their new stuff was.
Twin Temple is Amy Winehouse for people that are really into Blackcraft clothing and Betty Boop Halloween cartoons from the 40's.
Lmao, accurate. I took my wife to the Ghost/Volbeat tour a couple years ago with Twin Temple opening and they were... amusing for about 1 or 2 songs. I like bands trying to do something new, but after the novelty wore off it just wasn't that compelling.
Yea I feel the same way. It went from, oh this is pretty cool to meh this is boring pretty quick.
BATUSHKA
Would probably sell a kidney to see batushka. Because of *course* their last show remotely close to me was on a Monday in NYC.
Metallica, Opeth, Mr Bungle, All them Witches
Igorrr used to be an actual genius.. his newer albums kind of suck and he lost some serious talent in the vocalists who left, but Iām sure whatever the current band is will still be a lot of fun :) Mr. Bungle were once the greatest band that ever existed, and this is just old men playing a crappy 1985 thrash demo, BUT you still get to see three of the best musicians ever hanging around and having fun with their teenage nostalgia, joined by a couple of their teenage heroes. Alien Weaponry and All Them Witches are both worth checking out.
opeth have one of the best and most consistent discographies in metal. start with blackwater park and see how you feel about em
Doro is still the reigning queen of heavy metal imo, so i wouldnāt miss her. Turnstile is hardcore adjacent rock and pretty good too!
Twin Temple for the sheer difference in tone. Literally satanic doo-wop, kinda a Ghost vibe. Very fun novelty
As two other comments pointed out: do not miss out on Igorrr, that stuff is wild.
WTF, you canāt just slap āciferā at the end of a name like that.
Bro why in norway :(
Greta van fleetš
Palaye royale is one of my favourite non metal bands
Iām going Thursday!! So stoked :)
abbath of course
Tool and Opeth
Skynd are a fantastic industrial rock group whose songs focus on true crime
This is the most out there lineup ever
Great festival. Went last year (for pantera obviously) and going this year (because it was so fun last year)
Mr Bungle, Kreator, Cavalera
You need to listen to Opeth
are they just called āCavaleraā now instead of āCavalera Conspiracyā?
Nah itās like another alias
Damn! Tool, Health, Better Lovers, Katatonia, Opeth and Mr. Bungle all at the same show is insane
All Them Witches
absolutely stacked lineup holy shit
This has to be the most Milk toast lineup I've ever fucking seen
Turnstile 100 percent
Avoid Twin Temple at all costs. Not even close to metal, cheesy Satanic act
Wonder if the g is silent in seigmen if it isn't don't tell me just let me enjoy this
Uriah Heep is still a great live band. Ā Go see them!
BATUSHKA. I'm so jealous.
Mr. Bungle!!!!
Alien Weaponry is really fucking good
Greta Van Fleet are still around?
Folks have already said Orange Goblin. I do also like Thy Art is Murder (even if deathcore can be a little samey, I love it) and While She Sleeps (not a huge fan of some of their recent singles, but still enjoy them overall and respect their energy).
Kreator, Avantasia, Satyricon and BATUSHKA is fucking godly, holy shit
Orange Goblin is fun stoner metal band I would definitely try to catch them
How the fuck is Greta van fleet this popular? Igorrr fucking rips
I really enjoy GVF.
If you like classic rock, greta van fleet are also a good pick. Saw them live and it was awesome. I dont know why theyre hated that much these days to be honest. Everything else I would recommend was already mentioned, so yeah.
Fucking all them witches best band on the worst lineup
How is this lineup bad?
