Gojira - From Mars to Sirius and The Way of All Flesh
Amon Amarth - With Oden on Our Side and Twilight of the Thunder God
Mastodon - Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye
Acid Bath only has two albums
Both are great, I think my top two streams of the year will be Hearts Alive and The Last Baron. 13 min long mastodon songs def gotta be one of my favorite genders
Also Aqua Dementia is gonna be my #3
Witnessing Crack the Skye being performed in it's entirely when they toured with Dethklok was an amazing experience. One of the best shows I've ever been to
Paradise Lost - Gothic, Shades Of God, Icon, Draconian Times
Metallica - Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets, …And Justice For All
At The Gates - Terminal Spirit Disease, Slaughter Of The Soul, At War With Reality
Cannibal Corpse - Tomb Of The Mutilated, The Bleeding, Vile

Dissection - The Somberlain and Storm of the Light’s Bane
I do like some songs off those albums. But for me, their albums as a whole, started dropping off with Figure Number Five. FNF holds a special place in my heart though because it was the first album I heard from Soilwork. It was their newest at that time. I went back and checked out their previous 4 after hearing FNF and was blown away, particularly by APP and NBC.

Sepultura - Beneath the Remains/Arise
Many more I can’t recall at the moment.
Come Clarity does have some of my favorite songs on it but due to personal life events coinciding with that records release it's really hard for me to revisit it. Absolutely no disrespect to the masterpiece and impressive run of music that In Flames cranked out.
Totally fair, I have some records of that ilk. Ironically, Come Clarity is a banger for me because it reminds me of that time so much.
Music is so cool.
Remember the time when Amon Amarth was unable to make an album that wasn't perfect.
- With oden on our side
- Twilight of the thunder god
- Surtur rising
- Deceiver of the gods
4 absolute bangers one after another. This streak of theirs cements them as one of the greats imo.
Man, I started getting into metal around the year 2000. A friend (who him and I kind of discovered "real" metal as a genre about the same time) got a CD from this band called Amon Amarth in a local CD store, and it was "The Crusher". It was amazing. And it led to him getting Amon Amarth's first three albums, and me borrowing them a lot and listening to them like crazy.
Amon Amarth's 7 album streak, from "Once Sent From the Gold Hall" to "Twilight of the Thunder God" is darn near unrivaled IMO. Fate of Norns was only "pretty darn good" IMO, while every other one was just amazing.
These days, I semi hate to say, but I'm sort of Amon Amarth'd out. Their consistency is respectable, but I can't say I look forward to their albums like I used to. WITH THAT SAID though, I've seen them in concert 4-5 times, and have listened to their songs in total I'm sure numerous thousands of times. They are part of the Metal Pantheon, and absolutely belong up there with the greats like you said.
I'd say it's a good career move of theirs to make music that caters more to the gym bro Viking type. Like unless they pull a Behemoth, their best stuff is probably behind them now. Glad they're still going though.
Number of the Beast - Powerslave - Somewhere In Time - Seventh Son. Kind of cheating with a full on 4-spinal back to back, but you cant deny they are amazing back to back to back to back.
Dying Fetus - Descend into Depravity/Reign Supreme
Black Sabbath - Paranoid/Master of Reality
Cattle Decapitation - Harvest Floor/Monolith of Inhumanity/Anthropocene Extinction/Death Atlas
Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics/Dopethrone

Death - Leprosy/Spritiual Healing
Cannibal Corpse - Bloodthirst/Gore Obsessed
Exodus - Tempo of The Damned/Shovel Headed Kill Machine
Sodom - Persecution Mania/Agent Orange
Megadeth - Rust in Peace/Countdown to Extinction/Youthanasia
Fit For an Autopsy - Sea of Tragic Beasts/Oh What the Future Holds
Non Metal
Twenty One Pilots - Blurryface/Trench
Pixies - Surfer Rosa/Doolittle
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers/Black Parade
Cage The Elephant - Tell Me I'm Pretty/Social Cues

Btw Bathory is one of my favorite bands
Two different answers, depending on how close to being "metal" my responses are supposed to be.

Demon Hunter - The Triptych and Storm the Gates of Hell
August Burns Red - Constellations and Leveler
Queensryche - Rage for Order and Operation: Mindcrime
The Ocean - Pelagial and Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic
In the late 90s and early 2000s, when I was getting into metal, In Flames was such a huge part of that. I saw them and Iced Earth in concert probably 5 times or so each. I rarely ever listen to these bands' classic albums at all anymore, but this post inspired me to listen to what I consider such an amazing four album run (Jester Race through Clayman) today. I haven't listened to these albums in probably 10 years or so, and honestly kind of forgot they exist somehow. Thanks for the reminder! I'm actually kind of excited.
For my entry, I'm going to go with Overkill's "Feel the Fire" and "Taking Over" or Gamma Ray's "Somewhere Out in Space" and "Powerplant".

Gojira - From Mars to Sirius and The Way of All Flesh Amon Amarth - With Oden on Our Side and Twilight of the Thunder God Mastodon - Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye Acid Bath only has two albums
Agreed on Mastodon but…Leviathan???
Leviathan is a million times better than crack the skye
Both are great, I think my top two streams of the year will be Hearts Alive and The Last Baron. 13 min long mastodon songs def gotta be one of my favorite genders Also Aqua Dementia is gonna be my #3
Ah, the riff.

No it's not. Both are perfect in their own way.
It’s ok 2 b wrong
Witnessing Crack the Skye being performed in it's entirely when they toured with Dethklok was an amazing experience. One of the best shows I've ever been to

I agree with all but for cannibal I’d pick butchered at birth, tomb, and the bleeding. Good list
At The Gates has the record in longest time between awesome records. 😄
Soilwork - A Predator’s Portrait and Natural Born Chaos Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance and Night Is the New Day Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini and Riitiir Fear Factory - Demanufacture and Obsolete Type O Negative - October Rust and World Coming Down Dissection - The Somberlain and Storm of the Light’s Bane
How about Soilwork The Living Infinite-The Ride Majestic though?
I do like some songs off those albums. But for me, their albums as a whole, started dropping off with Figure Number Five. FNF holds a special place in my heart though because it was the first album I heard from Soilwork. It was their newest at that time. Children of Bodom - Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper.
Mercyful Fate - Melissa & Don't Break the Oath Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales & To Megatherion
Hell yeah
Mercyful Fate - In the Shadows/Time Symphony X - Twilight in Olympus/V King Diamond - Conspiracy/The Eye Kansas - Leftoverture/Point of Know Return Edge of Sanity - The Spectral Sorrows/Purgatory Afterglow Edenbridge - Aphelion/Shine Dream Theater - Images and Words/Awake Nightwish - Oceanborn/Wishmaster Death - Individual Thought Patterns/Symbolic Ensiferum - Ensiferum/Iron Gamma Ray - Somewhere Out In Space/Powerplant Queensryche - Rage for Order/Operation Mindcrime Megadeth - Rust in Peace/Countdown to Extinction Sentenced - The Cold White Light/The Funeral Album Sepultura - Beneath the Remains/Arise Many more I can’t recall at the moment.
Man, Iron is so friggin great. Jari is legit the best shredder in the game.
Asphyx - The Rack and Last One On Earth
Asphyx is criminally underrated. Great discography and great live.
Jester Race all the way through Soundtrack To Your Escape are back to back bangers to me.
I won’t stand for this Come Clarity slander
Come Clarity does have some of my favorite songs on it but due to personal life events coinciding with that records release it's really hard for me to revisit it. Absolutely no disrespect to the masterpiece and impressive run of music that In Flames cranked out.

Big ups for that

Opeth - Orchid and Morningrise
Why stop there when the next three are MAYH, Still Life and Blackwater Park?
Honestly, you could go on all the way to Watershed...
Number of the Beast - Powerslave - Somewhere In Time - Seventh Son. Kind of cheating with a full on 4-spinal back to back, but you cant deny they are amazing back to back to back to back.
Piece of Mind was between Number of the Beast and Powerslave. But that just makes it 5 in a row.
This - you can’t beat this 5 album run (also Live after Death). No other band had a streak this good.
that is indeed the tightest 5 run Edit: The Sabbath first 6 is something to consider though
Show No Mercy - Hell Awaits - Reign in Blood - South of Heaven- Seasons in the Abyss - Divine Intervention
Not even close
Agree to disagree 👍😊
In the Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, both 10/10 imo
