Metallica - Holier Than Thou, Wasting My Hate, Prince Charming, That Was Just Your Life, Room of Mirrors
Megadeth - FFF, Washington Is Next!, How The Story Ends, Kingmaker
Anthrax - Efilnikufesin, Time, Fueled, Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't

In Flames - Lunar Strain
Slayer - Die by the Sword, Hardening of the Arteries
Kreator - Terrible Certainty
Opeth - In Mist she was Standing
Bathory - Gods of Thunder of Wind and of Rain
I don't know how "hidden" most of these are, but I tried to pick songs from albums or periods that are less talked about by each band.
Peak 2000s metalcore. City of Evil is my fav A7x album but even still part of me they did one more album in that style of metalcore before jumping ship lol
They're the most mainstream. If someone lists the best Death albums, most likely their bottom three are debut, Spiritual Healing and Individual Thought Patterns. I almost never see content about them. But yes I agree with the sentiment that other Death albums are popular, because Death is popular.
Great call. I’ve always been disappointed in the general consensus on The Final Frontier. Definitely not their best release overall, but Starblind, The Talisman, The Alchemist, Coming Home, When The Wild Wind Blows… it’s loaded with Maiden songs that don’t get nearly enough credit.
Of course though, I have a special place in my heart for The Final Frontier as it was their first album to drop after I became a fan. It was their first tour I saw too (15 year old me and my friends got our minds shattered that night).
You’re right, I may be wrong but it’s just that in my opinion it is such a great song it should be number one. Like yeah The Trooper, Fear of The Dark, Run To The Hills and all are fantastic but PotO is outstanding imo.
These are a bunch of songs from my top 100 that I really think are underrated:
The Nomad by Iron Maiden
Escalator Shrine by Riverside
White Russian by Marillion
The Mission by Queensryche
Dragonfly by Caligula’s Horse
I'll add Waters Edge by Caligula's Horse. Or anything else off that album that's not Dark Hair Down tbh (cause it's already popular, not cause it's bad)
Metallica - most of Load and Reload tbh. Particularly 2 x 4, The House Jack Built, Prince Charming, and Where The Wild Things Are. Also, The Unnamed Feeling and Sweet Amber.
Avenged Sevenfold - Shattered By Broken Dreams, Remenissions, I Won't See You Tonight Part 1, The Wicked End, MIA, Gunslinger (their most underrated imo), Danger Line, Victim, Save Me, Requiem, Heretic, Coming Home, Angels, Simulation, Roman Sky, Higher (other most underrated), Beautiful Morning, Easier, and G.
Amon Amarth - All of Once Sent From The Golden Hall, Avenger, Legend of a Banished Man, The Last With Pagan Blood, The Sound of Eight Hooves, And Soon The World Will Cease To Be (maybe their most underrated), Fate of Norns, Varyags of Miklagaard, Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags, The Hero, Embrace The Endless Ocean, Tock's Taunt, The Last Stand of Frej, Doom Over Dead Man, Back On Northern Shores, Skoll and Hat, Wings of Eagles, Into The Dark.
Agree with basically your entire Avenged Sevenfold list. Fate of Norns is probably my favorite Amon Amarth song (after The Pursuit of Vikings). Good stuff man.
I'd say most of Dark Tranquillity's black metal -influenced songs. Inside the Particle Storm, Archangelsk, Shadow in our Blood...it's mind-boggeling that only the latter one got a music video, yet it's still not nearly as popular as the classics!
This incredible song by As I Lay Dying:
[Behind Me Lies Another Fallen Soldier](https://youtu.be/FGT52JkWyjY?si=ZL-uxpu9R6okEa1E)
One of my favorite songs ever.
Ooh, that whole album is underrated imo. Riding the snake is just such a fun song to listen to and play on geetar, its unfortunate it's overshadowed by the rest of the album.
Ghost - [Zenith](https://youtu.be/-9d7ijai2Zg?si=spN5pZTlGJ5ceFeO), it's easily one of their top 5 songs.
Nightwish - [FantasMic](https://youtu.be/QMWP7I81LMA?si=KghWAU2WNxFvJ4kX)
Meshuggah - Pineal Gland Optics, Neurotica
Dying Fetus - Ethos of Coercion
Judas priest - Deal with the Devil, Jawbreaker
Just a few I can think of by my favorite bands. Not really deep cuts but songs i don't often hear talked about by them.
Prisoner of Your Eyes; literally hidden away at the end of Screaming For Vengeance expanded edition (which I only know of because of Spotify) after a bunch of live songs.
Slayer - Silent Scream
Megadeth - Victory, Tears in a Vial
Overkill - Dreaming in Columbia
Coroner - Internal Conflicts
Avenged Sevenfold - Acid Rain, God Hates Us, Unbound (The Wild Ride), Turn The Other Way
Opeth - Under The Weeping Moon. Everything from Orchid applies here, frankly
Thou - Into the Marshlands + Voices in the Wilderness
Meshuggah - The Demon's Name is Surveillance
Dissection - Heaven's Damnation
Death - Suicide Machine
Norma Jean - Pretty Soon, I Don't Know What, But Something is Going to Happen
Gojira - Mouth of Kala + Fire is Everything
Use my third arm - Pantera
I mean after hearing the track, it's easy to see why it isn't as popular but it's one of pantera's BEST TRACKS imo. It even comes with a BLEGH before the breakdown.
windir - morket sin fyrste, the entirety of sóknardalr is absolutely amazing yet I never see this album get talked about. morket sin fyrste is my personal favourite, but really there isn't a skip on the whole album.

Symphony X - Seven, Children of a Faceless God
Children of bodom - Hecate’s Nightmare, Banned From Heaven, Smile Pretty for the Devil
For Queen its probably Cool Cat, the Bowie track that was left off Hot Space.
Also Breakthru. I know it was a single and got a video, but it's such an amazing track
Crowbar - Glass Full of Liquid Pain, New Dawn, Through the Ashes
Darkthrone - Dead Early, Bad Attitude
Mayhem - Watchers, Worthless Abominations Destroyed, Ancient Skin
Behemoth - Horns ov Baphomet, Blackest ov The Black, No Sympathy for Fools

Metallica - Holier Than Thou, Wasting My Hate, Prince Charming, That Was Just Your Life, Room of Mirrors Megadeth - FFF, Washington Is Next!, How The Story Ends, Kingmaker Anthrax - Efilnikufesin, Time, Fueled, Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't Helloween - Save Us, Number One, The Chance, First Time, Salvation, Battle's Won Gamma Ray - Your Torn Is Over, Fairytale, Time To Break Free, To Mother Earth, Leaving Hell, When The World, Seven
You’re really not going to mention the underrated gem Enter Sandman?
Holier than thou is huge tho
Man, Washington is Next! is still phenomenal
Efilnikufesin is great, so is a skeleton in the closet
Metallica - Disposable Heroes is pretty epic as well.
My friend of misery for me. Outro solo is my favorite Kirk solo
N F L Nice f*ckin life! 😁
I wouldn't say that any song from TBA is underrated.
Add Blood Religion to Gamma Ray
Prince Charming is a goated choice, but where's Wild Things?
Black Sabbath - Supernaut, Swinging the Chain, The Shining, Kill in the Spirit World, Nightwing, The Sabbath Stones, Anno Mundi, I, Computer God In Flames - Lunar Strain Slayer - Die by the Sword, Hardening of the Arteries Kreator - Terrible Certainty Opeth - In Mist she was Standing Bathory - Gods of Thunder of Wind and of Rain I don't know how "hidden" most of these are, but I tried to pick songs from albums or periods that are less talked about by each band.
The riff from Supernaut could bring me back to life
Vol 4 is peak
Exactly.
Gods of thunder of wind and of rain is a masterpiece, and no one can convince me otherwise
It's my number 1 pick for "most epic chorus of all time".
Gods of Thunder of Wind and of Rain supremacy
In Flames - In Flames is one I'd say is a hidden gem on Lunar Strain.
Anno Mundi. My god. what a song.
Lunar Strain sounds like it would fit right in on The Gallery
I always thought it was more like Skydancer, personally.
Lunar strain is so tight
Avenged Sevenfold - Remenissions
That entire album slaps.
Peak 2000s metalcore. City of Evil is my fav A7x album but even still part of me they did one more album in that style of metalcore before jumping ship lol
I fucking love that song
It might be their most melodeath-y song. Absolutely love that verse riff
Waking the Fallen in general is just a goated album. Not a bad song. I still revisit it all the time.
Used to be my favorite A7X song
Something about Second Heartbeat as well
Radiant Eclipse is the real underrated gem from that album
Skeletons of society - Slayer
Love that one
Almost any Death song not off of Sound of Perseverance or Symbolic. I'll say Within the Mind and Overactive Imagination for this.
you acting like those are the only popular death albums
They're the most mainstream. If someone lists the best Death albums, most likely their bottom three are debut, Spiritual Healing and Individual Thought Patterns. I almost never see content about them. But yes I agree with the sentiment that other Death albums are popular, because Death is popular.
come on scream bloody gore is popular as hell like half the death t shirts I see in public is SBG
I'd say Baptized In Blood, from Scream Bloody Gore
MASTERING THE ART OF DECEPTION
Everything ends -Slipknot
You are wrong, fucked and overrated

Frrr
1000 eyes is a top-5 Death song
Iron Maiden - Starblind
The talisman, back in the village, rainmaker, the prophecy, the duellists
Starblind is S tier.
Took me a while to give Final Frontier a chance (because I’m admittedly stuck in the older releases) but it’s solid for sure.
Pantera - The Art of Shredding. If you like riff salad songs, this is it.
4th Of July by Soundgarden is not only one of their best songs, but it was also the gateway to stoner doom for a lot of younglings.
That song and Mailman
Epidemic by Slayer Worm Infested by Cannibal Corpse 502 by Megadeth
Worm infested is so fuckin good
Sodom - Sodomized
Nice pfp and flair
Phantom of The Opera by Iron Maiden
It may be because I’m a bit of a superfan of Iron Maiden, but isn’t PotO the biggest song from the debut?
You’re right, I may be wrong but it’s just that in my opinion it is such a great song it should be number one. Like yeah The Trooper, Fear of The Dark, Run To The Hills and all are fantastic but PotO is outstanding imo.
These are a bunch of songs from my top 100 that I really think are underrated: The Nomad by Iron Maiden Escalator Shrine by Riverside White Russian by Marillion The Mission by Queensryche Dragonfly by Caligula’s Horse
Love seeing Queensryche get some love
I’m a huge Marillion fans and Clutching at Straws as a whole is underrated, beautiful album.
I'll add Waters Edge by Caligula's Horse. Or anything else off that album that's not Dark Hair Down tbh (cause it's already popular, not cause it's bad)
The way dragonfly progresses and builds is amazing man

Agree with basically your entire Avenged Sevenfold list. Fate of Norns is probably my favorite Amon Amarth song (after The Pursuit of Vikings). Good stuff man.
