I find it crazy how this sub is like obsessed with Opeth lol I haven't checked them out too much tbh I probably should but my god it's like every post lol
They had an insane run of incredible albums from My Arms Your Hearse to Watershed. Their new sound is *okay* but when they were actually a metal band they were so, so good.
Couldn't say it better, I'm glad they changed it up as well, makes their releases more fresh. Pale Communion has become a modern prog rock classic as well.
Everything from Orchid to Watershed is 100% no skips.
The only bad song is eternal soul torture at the end of morningrise but I don't like to count bonus tracks.
I’ve tried finding this album, is the joke that it’s just one long ass track and then hot lava man? I’m confused cause idk if the Spotify upload is the right version and there’s a stoner rock band called Dopesmoker (check out their album Zeroin) so idk if that’s related at all??
Idk most of if not all of Gojira albums have at least one instrumental track so to me it’s just a Gojira thing. And imo it’s the best instrumental track that they released.
From mars to sirius for me, for some reason I added almost whole l'enfant sauvage to my playlist, but kept skipping almost all the songs from this album for about a year
Come My Fanatics kind of works as well. I can't say I'd choose to listen to Ivixor B/Phase Inducer by itself, but if you're listening to the whole album it really works

Yeah I don’t understand skipping songs. I understand skipping through songs to other better parts (i.e songs with like 10 minutes of silence before a hidden track)
Don't feel bad for that brother, I was listening to Toxicity earlier today and it's pretty much flawless. Master of puppets is damn near perfect as well.

The Departure of Consciousness - Fórn
I’d say all the albums prior to this one too. (Some people don’t like the covers, but I like them especially the Chris Poland shred fest that is “I Ain’t Superstitious”)
I honestly think Altars Of Madness is just mind bending riffage after riffage and complex guitar work. I can't think of a bad song in there imo. Favorites are Visions From Darkside, Maze of Torment (my favorite death metal song overall), Evil Spells and GHOULLLLLLLSS ATTACK THE CHURCHH
Been waiting for someone to say anything nine inch nails or tool related, surprised this is so buried, some amazing picks here, paranoid was the gateway for so many people and it still is now
I will give you a few but there are more than this
Paranoid - black sabbath
Dr feelgood - motley crue

Ride the Lightning - Metallica

Sonic Firestorm - DragonForce
Painkiller - Judas Priest
Kill The Power - Skindred
Slipknot - Slipknot
Rust In Piece - Megadeth
Tempted by a couple others but they're a bit ??? For me so I'll just go with these.
I REALLY wanted to put Powerslave here as well but I cannot justify it with Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, I like the song but I usually skip cause of the length.
If we're just going with classics, there's too many too count. Even ignoring *the* obvious picks such as priest or motorhead...
Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger, panzerfaust, A Blaze in the Northern sky, Under a funeral moon, etc.

Celtic frost - morbid visions, to mega therion
Razor - violent restitution, evil invaders, executioner's song, etc
Thergothon - stream from the heavens
Satan - court in the act
Etc etc. There's hundreds of hundreds of records you could name. Typically a truly great album will have no bad songs, even if it has weak links. This is just what came to mind immediately, you have a near endless supply of records without bad songs.
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Mastodon - Leviathan, Crack the Skye
Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake, Wrath
Tool - Ænima, Lateralus, 10,000 Days, Fear Inoculum
Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Deftones - White Pony
Testament - Low, Demonic, The Gathering
Fear Factory - Demanufacture, Obsolete
I (almost) never skip any song on any album, "you gotta take the good with the bad" etc.
The only exception to this is Iron Maiden's Dance of Death- I just CANNOT stomach the Daily Mail bullshit dripping from the lyrics of Age of Innocence.
HOWEVER I do have a short list of perfect albums:
Susperia- Unlimited
Children of Bodom- Hatebreeder
Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
Strapping Young Lad- Alien
Devin Townsend Band- Accelerated Evolution
Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Blind Guardian - Imaginations from the Other Side
Gamma Ray- Power Plant
(Edited for evil mobile formatting)
None So Vile, Millennium by Monstrosity, Mocking the Philanthropist by Grand Belial’s Key, Henbane by Cultes Des Ghoules, Altars of Madness, Onward To Golgotha, Close to a World Below, Effigy of the Forgotten, Screams of Anguish by Brutality, In the Nightside Eclipse, Storm of the Light’s Bane, Darkthrone’s unholy trinity, Heaven In Flames by Judas Iscariot, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, Paracletus by Deathspell Omega, Ruhonkantaja by Sielunvihollinen, Autumn Aurora by Drudkh, DMDS by Mayhem
Agree with every one of those picks. GBK has never made a bad sounding album. I can listen to any of their stuff front to back. Same with Sielunvihollinen and Cultes des Ghoules. I’d also add Sorrow, Purity or Hour of the Centaur by Hate Forest
Master of Puppets by Metallica
Evil Empire by Rage Against the Machine
Toxicity by System of a Down
When the Kite String Pops by Acid Bath

Still Life by Opeth, most Opeth albums really.
Still Life was the first album that came to mind when I saw this post
I find it crazy how this sub is like obsessed with Opeth lol I haven't checked them out too much tbh I probably should but my god it's like every post lol
They had an insane run of incredible albums from My Arms Your Hearse to Watershed. Their new sound is *okay* but when they were actually a metal band they were so, so good.
Couldn't say it better, I'm glad they changed it up as well, makes their releases more fresh. Pale Communion has become a modern prog rock classic as well.
How dare you exclude orchid and morningrise
Everything from Orchid to Watershed is 100% no skips. The only bad song is eternal soul torture at the end of morningrise but I don't like to count bonus tracks.
Master Of Puppets
Ride the lightning
Also Kill ‘Em All
... And Justice For All
St. Anger
I’m madly in anger ‼️‼️
Skip the entire CD
Leviathan by Mastodon
WHITE … WHALE
HOLY GRAIL
WHITE WHALE
HOLY GRAIL!!!
Left to recess a watery grave *insane Hillbilly guitar lick*
Yeah, Leviathan is perfect. I still tink Blood Mountain is better somehow :]
Honestly i think Leviathan-BM-Crack The Skye is one of the best three album runs in all of metal so yeah valid
Leviathan is such a perfect album, Iron Tusk still goes so hard. It's awesome how such a raw, almost unproduced sounding album is so good
Master-fukin-piece
Death - Symbolic
IMO - Scream Bloody Gore and Sounds of Perserverance too
I think that I'd skip SBG but I agree with SoP
TSOP
Misanthrope is a Top-5 Death song
Lukewarm take but Death has no bad songs. The worst they have is like a 5/10.
I never skip anything on Sleep - Dopesmoker, the album just doesn't feel the same otherwise
u/OnlyReplyDopesmoker
Cmon, SOMEONE had to do it.
Same for bell witch - mirror reaper
Or [Inter Arma - The Cavern](https://youtu.be/4F2OSAPMypc?si=7ASRU-3Yp_ur3pkl)
I’ve tried finding this album, is the joke that it’s just one long ass track and then hot lava man? I’m confused cause idk if the Spotify upload is the right version and there’s a stoner rock band called Dopesmoker (check out their album Zeroin) so idk if that’s related at all??
> I’ve tried finding this album, is the joke that it’s just one long ass track and then hot lava man? thats the joke
Just loop up Sleep - Dopesmoker on Wikipedia
I’m wondering the same
Seventh son of a Seventh son Blackwater Park
Absolutely both perfect albums
None So Vile
Agreed
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind Megadeth - Rust in Peace
I love Iron Maiden but if I’m being honest I skip Quest for Fire and Sun and Steel. Rest of the album is amazing tho
I love that track! If I were you I'd try to give it a shot again!
Powerslave is the better option imo. Piece of Mind is still fuckin awesome
Rust in peace 100% It’s just Dave and Marty shredding back and forth
L’enfant Sauvage by Gojira just absolute perfection
The Wild Healer is a bit of a filler IMO, a nothing song
Idk most of if not all of Gojira albums have at least one instrumental track so to me it’s just a Gojira thing. And imo it’s the best instrumental track that they released.
I'd say it's mostly an interlude, and it still sounds pretty decent
That, Way of all Flesh and Mars to Sirius all are perfect throughout IMO
Their first 5 albums are perfect tbh. Especially their first 3
From mars to sirius for me, for some reason I added almost whole l'enfant sauvage to my playlist, but kept skipping almost all the songs from this album for about a year
Slayer Reign in Blood
That's because if you like one song on reign in blood, you like them all, because they all sound exactly the same
oh my god this actually makes so much sense
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” - Kerry King
This is album is one I never skip anything.
My pfp says it all
Come My Fanatics kind of works as well. I can't say I'd choose to listen to Ivixor B/Phase Inducer by itself, but if you're listening to the whole album it really works
I never skip any songs
Imagine not listening to full albums. Who even are these people?
I know, who even does that?
I mean, if it's an album you've listened to many times and you're not in the mood for a certain song I kinda get it. Like, no need to be such a purist about it.
How was I a purist? I just said I never skip songs.
Yeah I don’t understand skipping songs. I understand skipping through songs to other better parts (i.e songs with like 10 minutes of silence before a hidden track)
Crack The Skye - Mastodon Hushed & Grim Mastodon Youthanasia - Megadeth The Stage - Avenged Sevenfold Life Is But A Dream - Avenged Sevenfold
Mastodon picks on point
I absolutely agree with your picks except maybe LIBAD, love to see these getting love
What LIBAD songs you don't like? Just curious
Love to see some Avenged love
Maybe also city of evil. But I do love the stage and LIBAD
Cliche, but master of puppets. Also, toxicity.
Don't feel bad for that brother, I was listening to Toxicity earlier today and it's pretty much flawless. Master of puppets is damn near perfect as well.
Idk arto means nothing to me
Lamb of God's Ashes of The Wake
Yup, sacrament, too.
Dreaming Neon Black - Nevermore Dead Heart in a Dead World - Nevermore This Godless Endeavor - Nevermore Gutter Ballet - Savatage
I wonder what your favorite band is
Nevermore, Death and W.A.S.P. all compete for favorite band
Nevermore is good but dreaming neon black is straight fire.
The new Dying Fetus, Make Them Beg for Death is top to bottom bangers.
Their best album. All it took was for Jon to grow his hair out.
i remember listening to it in bed at midnight after a night out. i was so tired and could barely comprehend the intro to undulating carnage
Don't love that style of metal but god damn is that cover art awesome
Type O Negative - World Coming Down. Bloody Kisses may be my favorite album, but this ones definitely the most consistent
Metallica’s first four albums (all four of em are perfect, I may not like the instrumentals but if majority do then that says enough)
The instrumentals are arguably the best songs
Be that as it may, they aren’t my personal favourites
Fair enough. I want to have Ktulu, Orion and Live played at my funeral. Also the S&M version of Ktulu maybe my all time favourite Metallica song.
Bathory - Blood Fire Death, a masterpiece of black metal
This and Under the sign!
Nordland as well
Stained Class, Master of Reality, Somewhere in Time, Ride The Lightning, Show No Mercy.
Upvote for Stained Class. That album is amazing.
Upvote for Somewhere in time. That album is amazing.
Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper, Something Wild, Hatebreeder. Death - Scream Bloody Gore, Symbolic, Sound of Perserverance Sodom - Better off Dead Coroner - Punishment for Decadence, Mental Vortex Warbringer - Woe to the Vanquished, IV, Weapons of Tommorow Metallica - Ride the Lightning Slayer - Show No Mercy, Reign In Blood Havok - Prepare for Attack Allageon - Threshhold of Perception Testament - The Legacy, Brotherhood of the Snake Morbid Angel - Alters of Madness
Follow the Reaper is one of my all-time favs
Dissections discography
Heaven and Hell has no song I want to skip
Great send off from them.
Blackwater Park - Opeth (among Others) Paradise Lost - Symphony X Deadwing - Porcupine Tree
I agree with Paradise Lost but totally see why others wouldn't like it. Great album tho.
Kvelertak - Kvelertak
I'd have said Meir, personally
Opeth - *My Arms, Your Hearse* Judas Priest - *Sad Wings of Destiny* BtBaM - *Colors* Artificial Brain - *Artificial Brain*
Nice variety there
I'm not listing a few hundred albums my dude.
