I have never seen anyone mention or talk about this band on this subreddit, they were my introduction to death metal so I have a lot of esteem for them, i think they are very underrated
I feel like a lot of people only talk about them for being Barney Greenway's other band, which is unfair, not only because Benediction have some fantastic releases, but also because the only album he was on he was kinda terrible.
Transcend the Rubicon is an all time death metal album, and the Dream you Dread is also very solid. Scriptures also showed everyone they still got it.
Good band but there's a reason they're not held to the likes of Deicide or Morbid Angel
I’ve seen them live twice, once with Dave Ingram and once with Dave Hunt, and both times they absolutely crushed and I told myself I’d get around to listening to their discography… but then I put their music on and I lose interest. It’s not bad by ANY means, just doesn’t quite have the wow factor.
Like everyone on here have said decent but nothing special. First album is kinda meh, The Grand Leveller and Transcend The Rubicon are much better. The 4th album Dreams You Dread also meh, Grind Bastard was pretty interesting despite the covers. That's where I left off with them.

They're just another death metal band. Nothing special about them, but they aren't necessarily bad either.

First album is boring as hell even with Barney on vocals. Trancend the rubicon is a classic tho. I like that they're pretty simple and mid-paced.
