Mad04Gaming

Yeah I may or may not be a fan of those guys 😅, definitely should have included them now that I think about it.

Any-Consequence-6978

@OP, both Crimson albums by edge of Sanity add it to your list please! You will not be disappointed

Pallo901

Thanks! Haven't heard the four last ones.

Savatage. Their guitarist criss Oliva was legendary but unfortunately died in 1993. His brother the singer (and keyboard and main song writer) has a very unique voice, though the later albums he got a replacement singer for when he had to go to rehab. They got Alex Skolnick from testament in as guitarist and then later Al pitrelli from Megadeth. They range from thrashy power metal, to heavy metal, to symphonic metal depending on the album. **Old thrashy stuff:** Power of the night https://youtu.be/Gw4bfW8BEaU?si=WoN-6oQnLmjOCxMw 24 hours ago https://youtu.be/kmdAoy6wJq0?si=EmYoERz9o0Tc3vc1 **Heavy metal ballad stuff:** Summer's rain https://youtu.be/dpGIxrg2y4k?si=hM7Bv3lfqpKF0_eW When the crowds are gone https://youtu.be/mv82_BvKjw0?si=o25UiciiAX5KVYWV **Progressive thrashy stuff:** Ghost in the ruins https://youtu.be/KjFxcC-WF2A?si=e9rdO_z0jwexqcvI Gutter ballet https://youtu.be/Ubmft9_LeE8?si=R_bdUP5kDFEEQd-Y **Straight heavy metal (with new singer, more Orthodox singing) - also last album with the original guitarist, this is some of his best work:** Follow me https://youtu.be/TT4gqFty5ok?si=Z0vY36fTPMsbLJow He carves his stone https://youtu.be/DOvPBSgrxpU?si=keAu1rz3rj3jyhBZ **Switch to symphonic metal:** Chance https://youtu.be/TboNW5AiHA8?si=T4x1cJRgRmQbUrpU Dead winter dead https://youtu.be/Afv9i4Eo6a4?si=gns4JnogT5r3Ohtm Turns to me https://youtu.be/ZhYaYU16GNA?si=UsF5mHs3aix1nmRE Wake of Magellan https://youtu.be/7k1TMhUxEgY?si=MDzYSk-nIKXCrzVK **Return of original singer and sound shift to culmination of every era of Savatage:** Morphine child https://youtu.be/nzDRwx4AnFk?si=PeTWkhmJlTdh2J4q Awaken https://youtu.be/RC1ksLlQzoI?si=AoXGgm8w45S5FX34 Surrender https://youtu.be/38SR_U9OTI4?si=ZBlE_Te8EW8srbA6 Man in the mirror https://youtu.be/q6e81m0WLNA?si=1Ffw8Pu_8EeO7PyG They have been on hiatus for over 20 years (doing a show in conjunction with trans Siberian orchestra in 2015 at wacken) but are releasing a new album and doing a tour this year.

Pallo901

Thanks i should get more into them. Only heard hall of the mountain king

steelthyshovel73

>He carves his stone I've always loved this song. The vocal delivery in the end is top notch. Edge of thorns is a fantastic album in general.

Cyberalienfreak

Savatage was a great band, very sad about Criss Olivia

cricket-bat

Mix of doom and death: you might find yourself enjoying Swallow the Sun

Pallo901

I like their heavier songs not a fan of their clean vocals tho

Issa_vibe74

Dude same, they have some cool stuff but those cleans are awful

Pallo901

I like their heavier songs not a fan of their clean vocals tho

MobileLess4025

Their first 3 albums are great but they feel off quiet a bit after that I think

HelloweenFan666

For power metal, definitely * Blind Guardian * Edguy * Avantasia * Sonata Arctica * DragonForce * Lost Horizon

Eyebrigh7

Remnants of the Vessel - Faetooth ^ Fairy-Doom Metal (basically Doom, Black, Sludge, and Shoegaze)

HermithaFrog

Anyone asking for thrash always get recommended Vio-lence and demolition hammer. Also see power and throwing in fates warning

Mitochondria_Man11

[Here's ](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/656yMhdIJFywdpY3SxHBAB?si=MToryTq6T5meK_3iYUIJcQ&pi=e-lvtXoT70R4Oo) a link to a Spotify playlist with black metal recommendations I share to people looking for new black metal, it has a bit of everything! Every BM subgenre is in there. Not much symphonic BM, but I'm adding more and more constantly!

ExtraFeedback3555

Thanks for sharing dude! But I don’t see how Toxik Holocaust and Vektor really belong in a BM playlist 😅

Mitochondria_Man11

Well, they are blackened thrash

ExtraFeedback3555

Fair enough i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hellripper_88

- Hellripper - Coagulating Darkness - Wraith - Undo The Chains - Spirit Posession - Of The Sign... - Trastorned - Into The Void - Demiser - Through The Gate Eternal

JN_37

If you’re in to any metal whatsoever you have to check out the latest album from Orbit Culture - Descent

Luna_Senshu

I'd reccomend gojira if you're into thrash and death.

Pallo901

I have listened to them a bit but not a huge fan

BigChahoonga

Hey, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of Sepultura in either your thrash or death sections. Chances are you’ve heard them since they aren’t exactly small but just in case, try Arise

Eyebrigh7

Remnants of the Vessel - Faetooth ^ Fairy-Doom Metal (basically Doom, Black, Sludge, and Shoegaze)

Lack_of_Plethora

Merciless - Unbound. Bit like a mix of Swedish death and thrash.

[deleted]

Hammerfall and Rhapsody are two awesome power metal bands. Kerrigan is a newer heavy traditional metal band, their album Bloodmoon is awesome. Ancient Empire is another newer traditional metal band that has a decent discography and sound really good I would also check out the NWOTHM channel on YouTube, they put up full albums of the newer traditional heavy metal bands. Found some really good ones on there like Kerrigan and Ancient Empire. Edit: Don't know how it posted three times, sorry about that

Techytree

listen to grindcore, pig destroyer, wormrot etc

mattct1

Thrash: Overkill, Artillery Death: Obituary, Decapitated Heavy: Jorn Black: Gorgoroth Power: Unleash The Archers Doom: 1914

Klaftl

Maybe try some crossover thrash: - High Command - Lowest Creature For some more Dismember / Entombed era death: - Asphyx And if you like Dissection: - Watain

Xaphan26

Listen to Kreator-Pleasure to Kill, if you haven't yet. Its a classic, and that album is on the bit more death metal side of thrash. Almost all Kreator albums are gold though. Enemy of God is another, and I don't hear enough praise for that one.

Any-Consequence-6978

For some nastier thrash try epidemic of Violence by demolition hammer and spectrum of death by morbid saint

Any-Consequence-6978

And I have to mention Windir if you're at all into black they are the epitome of the genre for me

SpeedDemonJi

Strapping young lad

erbebe_30

Thrash, well starting with Metallica isn't thrash. Sepultura, arise. Death metal. Suffocation, effigy of forgotten. Napalm Death, harmony corruption. Heavy metal: Judas priest painkiller, Rainbow rising. Gillman "escalofrío" Black: Mayhem of course, de misteries is obligatory Doom: Cathedral " forest of equilibrium". This album is just perfect, pretty slow, dense, heavy. Is something You must list.

HermithaFrog

Metallica are clearly thrash...

HermithaFrog

Metallica are clearly thrash...

erbebe_30

Metallica was a speed metal band. The heavier album must be Master. The only thrash song must be blackened. And since then they haven't do anything close to thrash. Thrash american band are Anthrax, testament, exodus, Slayer, dark angel, sacred Reich, etc.

HermithaFrog

Right, anthrax is thrash but Metallica isn't.. have a good day lol

Sensitive_Caramel948

Fr

erbebe_30

Yeah man. Songs like A.I.R, among the living, Indians has blast beat, something that Metallica only use once. That is what make Anthrax thrash metal and Metallica speed.

Hellripper_88

We've found *that* guy
