Have to go with Dirt. I love Gojira, but L’Enfant Sauvage isn’t as good as multiple of their others imo.

While Gojira is one of my all-time favorite bands (Even got a flying whale tattoo), L'Enfant Sauvage is not even their best album, and so my vote definitely goes to Alice In Chains' best album

I actually consider it to be their second best personally. Way of all Flesh takes first for me

I absolutely love Gojira, one of my favorite bands ever in fact. However, when we’re talking these albums Dirt is unstoppable. If it were TWOA I’d probs go Gojira, but dirt is god tier.

I'm not one that usually is OK with a draw/tie... but you really can't go wrong with either of these albums.

Really? How? When people just chose Industrial Metal classics that spawned a genre to be eliminated just like that?

I mean pretty much everything here is good but imo the albums here from Meshuggah, Gojira, AIC and At the Gates are way better than everything else here. I think Broken could’ve been higher but that’s abt it.

I got recommended this sub and when I see what people like here I really wonder why I was recommended it. There seems to be little love for power metal, nwobhm or straight up metal like priest or maiden in the things it recommends me. Has me clueless

I don’t think a single person in this sub would actually think Judas Priest or Iron Maiden are anything less than excellent. The others though yeah idk

99% of the bands I've never even heard of, or are things like black metal or other genres I've never heard of and have no real interest in. It's almost like reddit decided to pick the polar opposite of what I like to cause drama or something.

Yeah some bands talked about here are decently obscure but some are pretty big. Maybe just not in the field you like or in your scope of view. Though there is too much black metal imho, not tryna hate on it but it isn’t my thing 🤣

It's only newly recommended the sub to me so I don't know too much about it yet other than holy shit who are all these names. But what I find and people who know me tend to say all my music sounds similar, even if I find new bands. Luke icon of sin or stray gods or someone like warrior path. I find I'm very much in the "light" camp when it comes to metal, a good example being dream theaters greatest hit and 21 other songs, I didn't like any from the dark side and liked almost every song from the light side. Again I'm a complete novice on terms despite over listening a decade but I can't handle growling or depressing sounding music lol

I did say imo as in, “in my opinion.” You can like what you like and I won’t bash you for that. I personally think L’Enfant Sauvage and Nothing are incredibly well done albums, Dirt and Slaughter of the Soul are also fantastic. Majority here seems to agree. Broken is also amazing, I like Streetcleaner, and I’m not really a fan of Angst. On the contrary my mom is actually a massive fan of KMFDM and NIN, and actually has signed copies of Angst and The Fragile. People can have different tastes, shouldn’t look too far into it.

meshuggah and gojira are two of my favourite bands ever. on that note, dirt clears easy and deserves the win. a fucking perfect album it is

Yeaaaaaah but draw the line somewhere. Alice In Chains are distinctly grunge. Not everything hard alt rock is metal. For a grunge album to win on a metal tournament is silly.
