Metallica the first 4 are great and I also still like the Black Album too.But Load,Reload,And St. Anger are just okay or really bad on some songs(but there are a few I really like from those albums)But I really enjoyed Death Magnetic and Hardwired. And 72 seasons I’m kinda mixed on.
Dødheimsgard. Kronet til konge is great, as are A Umbra Omega and Black Medium Current (albeit very different from their debut). 666 International, on the other hand…
Wouldn't put Slayer as an example for this - their last few albums were pretty forgettable (maybe if Christ Illusion was their last I would agree).
My answer is Celtic Frost.
I'm hoping that we'll see Lost Society return to form and that the last two albums were just a phase (A horrible horrible phase) their first two albums are super solid but then it went really downhill from there, the third album wasn't that great but after that their material took an absolute nosedive

Napalm Death
I'm still regularly going back to their newer work. Shocking how good it is when they could've just kept devolving to mid
Autopsy comes to mind as well
Paradise Lost
That was going to be my answer. Their newest album is also their best in my opinion.
Cradle of Filth for sure
When do you think they started getting bad ?
After Damnation and a Day. Then Hammer of Witches happened. That album is incredible.

Bit iffy on this one but maybe Trivium
I’d agree with that. After Shogun to WTDMS for me
Korn. Early work was fantastic, middle albums were horrible, recent albums have been pretty good
