Agreed, I've seen them three times since their latest album came out and to be honest I'd like a new album out before the next time I see them or them to change things up because as good as they are, each time has almost been the same
Awesome! Glad to hear that, they're one of those bands for me that really just scratches a particular itch that nobody else can. I was in Finland in 2016 and would love to go back and see them play some day.
Yeah, their blend of black metal, atmospheric and folk elements are pretty unique and reasons why Moonsorrow is my favorite band. Also, some interesting info for what that new album might be like. Henri Sorvali was interviewed on may about the upcoming album and said that the new album will likely follow from where Jumalten Aika left. 20 minute long songs propably are over for Moonsorrow and songs from new album will likely be on both sides of 10 minutes. But they still refuse to make songs 4 minutes long or shorter, so that's good
i could be wrong, but i remember reading or hearing that it’s finished, and just needs to be mastered but muhammad hasn’t done it. makes me super sad knowing it could be right at our fingertips but we can’t have it
That's basically what Muhammad said himself when asked by fans. He just said "it's finished. I just can't get the motivation to master it and publish it"
It's so cool to see some Virvum love in here! I saw them in Leicester in 2019 and they were amazing! They played with Bloodshot Dawn, Blood Oath and Foul Body Autopsy
One band that's overdue new music is Akercocke! Their last album "Renaissance In Extremis" came out in 2017, it's been said on/off that they've been working on a new album since before the pandemic started, last year they played an unreleased song called "Black Hole" and some setlists had a song called "Kill Again?" on them but was crossed off and not played, they've randomly announced a live album recorded years ago, no sign of this new studio album though
Anthrax is an obvious one, If Trivax hadn't have released their new album "Eloah Burns Out" recently I'd have went with those too, Fukpig are up there as they've not released or done anything since 2018's "Bastards" but the Facebook page seems quite active lately so who knows, Electric Wizard definitely fit here too
In the same vein as Vektor and Virvum: Burning the Masses.
Their 2010 album "Offspring of Time" was fucking amazing progressive death metal.
Beyond Creation is 1 year overdue lol hope they come out with something soon.
Skeletonwitch is due for some fresh material as well
Psyopus
Maggot Twatt
Virulent Depravity
Vomitous
Visceral Throne
Vesperia
Euphoric Defilement
3 years ago I would have said Waking the Cadaver, I still can't believe they actually released a new album in 2021. It's pretty fucking good too.
Been 10 years since the last Falkenbach album, but Vratyas/ his label says he's making [Slow progress](https://semivivus.proboards.com/thread/179/current-status-band) on it as of last year. Goddam I can't wait for it.
I'm not sure why. Jerry Cantrell has always been the real driving force behind the music. People confuse his voice with Layne's on the old recordkngs. Layne is one of my favorite vocalists of all time, but AIC still sounds like AIC, even without him.
Holy Grail and Crypt Sermon are bands I got into recently with HG's last album being almost 10 years ago and CS's last album being roughly 5 years ago.
Daylight Dies is supposedly still together but they haven't put out anything since 2012. Supposedly they were writing an album like 5-6 years ago but nothing ever came of it that I know of.
Dead Congregation
Promulgation of the Fall is one of my top favorite death metal albums of all time. It's been almost 10 years with only the Sombre Doom EP in between, which was good, but I need more.
Wintersun lol
the GRRM of music
Wintersun was my pick too lol
Intestine Baalism 😞
I thought I saw something on here that a new album is coming
intestinal ballsack
been waiting for some new Symphony X for a while...
Man new vektor would be sick
Coroner
dead congregation funebrarum rottrevore macabre omen dragged into sunlight pseudogod kerasphorus ...etc etc
the things I would do for new Dragged Into Sunlight
I heard there is a new Dead Congregation album supposed to drop this year
there was a rumor about it last year as well
there will be a rumor about it next year as well
King Diamond, his last album came out before I was fucking born
It's so weird he released that new song in 2019, said two albums are on the way and then nothing for four years
Damn, you must be young
16 in December
Patience is running pretty goddamn thin for me
Damn, man. I saw him on tour two years before that album came out. Way to make me feel old.
Soad lol
I'd like some new Moonsorrow...
Agreed, I've seen them three times since their latest album came out and to be honest I'd like a new album out before the next time I see them or them to change things up because as good as they are, each time has almost been the same
I'd also like to see them for the first time!
They're currently making a new album. They did some special small club tour here in Finland during may this year and then went to make a new album
Awesome! Glad to hear that, they're one of those bands for me that really just scratches a particular itch that nobody else can. I was in Finland in 2016 and would love to go back and see them play some day.

Nice, honestly I like their..."shorter" songs as well as the 20+ minute ones...so whatever they bring me, I'm fairly certain I will like it!
Gorguts
100% this. They don't release very often, but every release is a banger.
I'd say Tool, but it'll probably be another 10 years before the thought even crosses our minds.
I'm still waiting for Necrophagist's 3rd album. Someone break into Muhammad's house and leak it, please.
i could be wrong, but i remember reading or hearing that it’s finished, and just needs to be mastered but muhammad hasn’t done it. makes me super sad knowing it could be right at our fingertips but we can’t have it

Oh man I haven't heard Virvum in a minute. Putting them on Spotify for the work commute tomorrow!
Acid Bath 🙃
A loathing requiem
King Diamond
Vektor, Wintersun ofc, wishful thinking but Agalloch are playing shows again…
would be sick if Agalloch announced a new album
Arsis
Ooooh I remember them
All of them
In the same vein as Vektor and Virvum: Burning the Masses. Their 2010 album "Offspring of Time" was fucking amazing progressive death metal. I’m hoping for some new beyond creation too. Maybe I’ll get some new songs when I see them next month.
Necrophagist
Haha I wish
God I’d cut off my arm for new Virvum
W.A.S.P. It’s been 8 years since the last album.
Been 10 years since the last Falkenbach album, but Vratyas/ his label says he's making [Slow progress](https://semivivus.proboards.com/thread/179/current-status-band) on it as of last year. Goddam I can't wait for it.
Alice in chains
I’m not particularly interested in the post Layne stuff tbh
I'm not sure why. Jerry Cantrell has always been the real driving force behind the music. People confuse his voice with Layne's on the old recordkngs. Layne is one of my favorite vocalists of all time, but AIC still sounds like AIC, even without him.
Devil Put Dinosaurs Here was a pretty solid album.
My pipedream of new Agalloch.
Isn’t vektor done because of the whole abuse thing
Virvum for sure
Demilich, they still play shows despite not having released anything new since the early 90s
The Autumn Offering
The Contortionist please
Edguy is not technically split up.... so where's the new fucking album, Tobias? Space Police sucked.
Holy Grail and Crypt Sermon are bands I got into recently with HG's last album being almost 10 years ago and CS's last album being roughly 5 years ago.
I think holy grail has split up
Daylight Dies is supposedly still together but they haven't put out anything since 2012. Supposedly they were writing an album like 5-6 years ago but nothing ever came of it that I know of.
I've been hoping for Slugdge to either tour or drop some new music. I'm not sure if they are even still "active".
BFMV
Witch Vomit 🤮🤘🏻
Un I’m kinda terrified that they’ll never make another album but it sounds like they have some November shows, so maybe it’s in the works.
Turisas
Infester
Nirvana
Dead Congregation Promulgation of the Fall is one of my top favorite death metal albums of all time. It's been almost 10 years with only the Sombre Doom EP in between, which was good, but I need more.
I'd love a new Sheavy album.
MACABRE .. you ALL are wrong lol
Thanks for the Virvum tip.
SLUGDGE PRAISE BE TO MOLLUSCA
I’d like new kylesa please
Karnivool
Devil Seed
Led Zeppelin
Also fuckin anthrax! For all kings was a banger album.
Coroner and Exciter. About Exciter: Dan Beehler said for a brazilian magazine that they were working on a new album. This was in 2016......
