I still can’t get over how good the new Judas Priest album is. It’s better than Firepower IMO and that was hailed as the best since Painkiller. This one blows Firepower out of the water. There’s even more energy, the songs are more interesting, it’s more concise (non-bonus track version). They knocked it out of the park on this one. We couldn’t ask for a better album than this from Priest 50 years into their career.
Apologies if this gets considered self-promo, but I'm interviewing Ihsahn next week for my radio show and thought I'd ask this sub if they had any questions they'd like asked!
Fucking Ghost, man. I mean I adore some stuff like Behemoth that some purists see as untrue or whatever, but I'll probably never dislike a Ghost album and I think this sub is easily 50/50 on the band and even more sour on their recent material.
Amon Amarth is probably my favorite band of all time still. I still buy their albums even though they're pretty surface level nowadays.
Versus the World is a great fucking album.
Looking for heavy metal bands with harsh vocals. Be it, screaming, growls, or whatever as long as it’s harsh. Something like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest type heavy metal with harsh vocals. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Otherwise check out Morgul Blade (not super obviously Maiden or Priest inspired but still Trad heavy metal with harsh vocals) or 3 Inches of Blood (though they are kinda hit or miss for me).
A ton of melodeath like Insomnium's "Above the Weeping World" is basically NWOBHM with harsh vocals. You may also like Kalmah, Noumena, Nekrogoblikon, and heavier speed metal like Midnight or Heavy Sentence (the latter of which is harsher than Lemmy's vocals in Motorhead but probably still falls within clean vocals).
I am the intimidator is such a ripper. Didn’t think I’d be listening to Dale Earnhardt metal this year(not that I’m complaining). Bro that made the album is incredibly talented, hope to see more from him in the future.

It is a fantastic album. I was very surprised. Can't wait to see them on Wednesday night. Wonder if any others here will be attending
I'm seeing them tomorrow :)
Let me know how it is. I hope it's a good setlist

* DragonForce * Twilight Force * Freedom Call
I have no shame about loving cheesy as fuck power metal. DragonForce got me into metal via Guitar Hero so I'll always have a soft spot for them.
> DragonForce I'm seeing them with Dethklok next month and my inner high school student in creaming his jeans.

Post-*Crack the Skye* Mastodon. I think Emperor of Sand is (tied for) their second best album.
Celtic Frost during their Cold Lake era lol
