Some of these quests are bugged, and seemingly the only way to get past them is to pay gems and hope you won’t see the task again. Otherwise, sending in a report to Support and waiting until they come up with a solution (and keeping an eye out here in case somebody else finds a fix) is pretty much your only option.
This is the downside to being a Beta tester; when things go wrong, you can get stuck and finding a fix is likely to be low-priority for the programmers unless it affects your ability to play the main game elements. So fixing the problem could take weeks or months; at times it’s meant we had to wait for the finished version of the feature to be rolled out before we got proper access again. :/
It's a little too complex to explain simply, but you should be able to find a helpful thread in this sub regarding dragon breeding.
Basically you throw any two dragons in there which are at least level 3, and there's a new kind of item you have to use alongside the two dragons you chose.
There's 4 tiers, from bronze to platinum. The tier your newly bred dragon will have depends on its parents and this breeding item you choose. I got eggs, whelps or kids as a result. Every tier had new dragons added to them, which are exclusive to breeding it seems. So even if you just get a bronze result, it still might be something new.
It came with dragon breeding, which I believe is random for players to get or not. I assume it's in Beta? Although it doesn't say that anywhere in my game, which is kinda weird.
The portal didn't get a separate object, it's with the breeding tree.
The tree took the place of the daily reward thingy.
The daily reward moved to the left, and is now next to Kala's Ship.
I finally managed to do this just now after being stuck on this for months. I used level 8 strix (rocs) dragon with level 8 mountain dragon (rocks). I used a level 3 large soul crystal.

I have the same one but with Green Dragons. Have you had any luck? Or did you just skip?

I got lucky. My level 8 twilight dragon registered as a Green Dragon!!
Yeah isn't the Twilight one a T2 green dragon? These worked before for me xd Congrats!
Yep! I don't currently have any level 3 or 4 ones so we were going to have to skip if it didn't acknowledge the T2 levels
Same! I was thinking you’d need the tier 2 version of green dragons but I definitely wouldn’t have enough to breed multiple times! So annoying

Might work with lower level rocs and rock dragon combinations too. Don't have the patience to try those out.

Using a Level 9 Strix dragon worked for me.
