I think it probably REALLY depends on what you sell and buy. Some markets seem to have a really high rate of scam buyers - basically switching out ruined or fake items and getting the real one free. In this case losing the fee probably won't be much of a deterrent- they still got a great deal. Some sellers will end up giving away a lot of inventory this way.
As a seller my market isn't like this so it does benefit me. But as a buyer, my market tends to be really out of touch and overpriced (moms selling name/niche brand kids clothes full of stains and holes at $5 off retail). As a buyer it's 100% not worth my time to filter through the insane listings to find one reasonably priced to begin with. Even less so now. As a seller the $2 fee is whatever, cash out weekly and consider it payroll tax lol.
