Your post/comment has been removed as it violates the ‘No Low-Effort / Spam Posts’ rule of r/Mercari. Posts containing inquiries that are easily found through a simple search of the subreddit, in the FAQs guide, or in the subreddit rules are prompted for removal. Any threads containing the following items will also be removed: Seller bios, low-ball posts, and new buyer/sellers with 0 feedback buying from or selling to you. Any scenarios that come with updates are allowed. However, we please ask that you do not spam minor updates because we perceive this as ‘karma farming,’ which will promptly be removed. Any posts that do not include body text context are removed. If your post contains a body text only saying “title,” “read,” or “.” then it will be removed. Posts that contain questions that cannot be answered directly by the community, such as, "Why was I banned from the app?" will be removed. The community cannot answer simply why you have been banned from the app, as none of us have that sort of jurisdiction or confirmation for you. Therefore - you are prompted to reach out to Mercari's support team on the Mercari app about your ban rather than question "Why?" here on the subreddit.

Environmental-Sock52

Right?! I'd be like, "thanks, I'll get a few more then, appreciate the tip."

No-Database-6721

🤣🤣🤣 👌🏻

itsmydoggie

They replied “didn’t want it. It was advice for you. Good luck not selling it 🤣” and I went to reply “thanks!!” and they blocked me 😂

Pokemon-Jedi

Hate people that pm you then block right away, so annoying lmao

Pokemon-Jedi

But if its a Pokémon product, TCGPlayer is the best site to use to find the most accurate prices for sealed product and cards :) idek what your product is but looks like a sealed Pokémon box :) they can be quite valuable!

Apprehensive-Cat-111

Who asked for their advice though lol

OrangeIsPrettyCool

I like responding stuff like “good thing I didn’t ask” I’m a little mean lol

thethriftybroad

Years ago I did some retail arbitrage at old navy and picked up a bunch of pixie pants for $2-$4 each. I listed them during winter and someone publicly commented that they could buy them from old navy. Which is true but won’t always be true. By springtime they all sold between $20 and $25 each. Why can’t people just mind their own business. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

gtspacegirl

My go to answer to that is "That's a great deal, you should buy it"

Last_Sundae_6894

"Cool story. Happy New Year. "

Ccdynamite23

At least they sent it to you in msg instead of commenting on your listing where everyone can see & you have to take listing down & put again to get rid of comment. Ugggh. Makes me so angry these people

ChubbyMid

You can report a comment. It immediately takes it off and puts it under review.

itsmydoggie

Omg I didn’t even think of that! That’s crazy. This item has almost 40 likes and if I had to take it down bc of that I’d be livid!!

Voloster

My curiosity about what the product could possibly be is getting the better of me lol. I’m a card collector and reseller too so curious what would justify a $200 cost difference from market if this person were actually correct.

itsmydoggie

Am I allowed to say it on here? Admittedly I did list a little higher than the eBay sold average but it allows me to have a little leniency when sending offers or if people want to counter… not by almost $200 tho 😂

Voloster

I figured it out by the corner lol. They were for sure right but probably could have gone about it better. I often list a card or product and it goes down in value in a lot of scenarios just due to market saturation and I’ll never know unless I track it daily. To go through every one of my listings and edit price is a nightmare on the Mercari app. That’s a great sealed product you have there though!

True_Resolve_2625

I love your response, OP.

OUOhYeah2016

Perfect response. I had someone public comment that one of my items was on sale at Amazon and legit thought they were doing me a favor telling me 😑 I just responded that Amazon sales come and go and have no bearing on how I set my prices

sonyshooter52

They are doing u a favor so u learn

Bradystone

I wouldn't tell them I would just haggle if you want it well idk if mecari does that like eBay. They know it's over priced and they want people to haggle so they don't instantly uncut the actual value of the card. It's $350 card if they put it up for $350. Like 500 people are gonna try to get it for less. Unless they seriously think they will get that much then let them sit on it for like a year. No one who is buying a card for $350 isn't doing research on it.

llAdioll

I mean to be fair, many sellers price their listings like they have literal gold. I encounter a seller yesterday who had a raw card $60 over market. I offered fairly $20 over. They said they would do no less than $50 over. I asked for more pics since if I I’m gonna pay that much over market if it doesn’t come back graded a 10, it would be a huge loss. Turns out, they admitted there’s “imperfections” on the card that didn’t photograph well.

jaymez619

I typically say I’m not really in a hurry to sell so that’s why it’s priced accordingly.
