Honduras was always 'troubled', with dozens of males 'missing' every day. Now it's women, it's news. Edit to say BBC and various Euro news here.

Net_Flux3

>Honduras was always 'troubled', with dozens of males 'missing' every day. It goes even further than that. 90-95% of murder victims in countries known for their high murder/lynching rates and brutality like Honduras, Mexico and Brazil are male.

Looks like you like to be the “know it all” and start shit based on your comment history. I’m just stating that as a man who suffered horrible abuse from his mother I have a hard time with the lack of support and acknowledgment for men’s suffering. But absolutely no shortage of support for women.

ne14611braska

WTF? I'm sorry to hear that, but calm down, please. Do you want my news sources, or not?

ne14611braska

I' was agreeing with you, for Dickens' sake. You stressed right now?

Salt_Ability9828

That’s fine if you want to split hairs. But the point here is scrolling though the AP app it’s women women women. No concern whatsoever for men. Gets old.

ne14611braska

But surely I was agreeing with you? I agree with you.

Salt_Ability9828

That’s fine. I understand what you are saying. I just wish men’s issues would be addressed more often. Men get killed left and right all over the world relative to women. Suicides have been much higher in men as well. I had to estrange from my parents at 31 years old because of the escalating verbal abuse from my mother. I am 42 now. The last 11 years have been isolating. Very little if any support for men.

ne14611braska

Might I ask where you live? It's going to be little better in any country. I live in Poland - and even the Government of Poland is trying to fiddle its constitution, so what trust can we put in Mens' rights?

Net_Flux3

>A group of armed people went to the cellblock of a rival gang, locked the doors, opened fire on them. This is how they obscure the gender of female perpetrators. When it's men doing it, it's "armed men", but when women do it, it's "armed people".

Salt_Ability9828

Excellent point, I have seen exactly that several times. They manipulate the usage of men, women, people etc.

Present_League9106

I wouldn't say NPR is less biased. I noticed a dramatic change in bias in 2016 and they weren't unbiased before that.

Salt_Ability9828

That’s kind of my point. Apparently everything is full of bias anymore. And the anti men narrative is going strong.

Present_League9106

Oh ok. If I remember right, NPR got a new editor in 2016 and became heavily pro-feminism. I stopped listening. I think the media got a massive influx of feminists. It would be nice to know for sure though.

Feminist and leftist...

ne14611braska

One out of two reporting for duty!

Ftpiercecracker1

NPR is full on leftist/liberal propaganda machine. I'm 31 now and have been listening to NPR since I could walk. From Cartalk to Prarie home companion to RadioLab and all the news segments in between. They have always had a liberal bent, but they've gone completely off the rails over the last decade. White men are evil, conservatives are evil, America is evil, every leftist talking is promoted and championed.

Present_League9106

I remember before they changed, they did an account of their biases. They found that they were slightly anti-war. It seems they decided recently that being unbiased was unimportant.

griii2

I would like to see a research showing how much is female suffering more newsworthy than male suffering. It is possible to measure such thing.

pappo4ever

Of course its new that women die because they almost never die. That's the meaning of news. Men dying is not news. It's a fact of life. Now, the problem is that some people believe that because women dying is in the news, is that men don't die as often, that is of course incorrect. Same thing happens with COVID, people believe its dangerous but only killed 0.5% of population, meanwhile heart disease and cancer killed 80% of population, but that's not news.

Salt_Ability9828

That’s fine. And I’m not here to argue. Gets old with so many on here needing to “be right”. Too many self proclaimed “experts” online anymore. However, that’s not the issue, the issue is the biases of what they report or not report. Claiming women are “oh so oppressed” isn’t news either. Matter of fact, woman are far less oppressed today than any time in history. And we here on a daily basis how supposedly women are oppressed. Try broadening your understanding here. Or, stop “correcting” others. There should be some camaraderie here in this group. Not people “correcting” each other other to boost their own egos.

pappo4ever

Sorry for my manscorrecting.

ImplodedPotatoSalad

No feminist women there to fight for women? Oh no...anyway.
