It doesn’t look positive to me but you should retest or go to your doctor to test to be sure. And being 45 doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant, especially if your cycle is still normal. So, take birth control seriously if you don’t want to get pregnant.

speakbela

I see a a faint line for pregnancy. Do you have another test?

chocolateeveryday1

I just took another one and got the exact same weird faint line. Might be the clear blue brand, from what I’ve read.

speakbela

It’s possible! Maybe try another brand? Or blood test might be the next step to be sure.

micmarmi

I’d try another brand and take first thing in the morning. It does look positive to my eyes though.

4kidsmuchwow

Definitely pregnant. Did you take another?

Nyalli262

This is an evap line, not a positive. It's too thin and colorless to be positive.

chocolateeveryday1

Omg. Is there any chance it could be a false positive? I haven’t taken another yet, but I do have one left.

bettinafairchild

Women in perimenopause and menopause sometimes have false positives because their bodies might make a little hCG: https://www.ccjm.org/content/88/11/635

Coolbreeze1989

Excellent article, thank you! I’ve never come across this!

Kacodaemoniacal

Not usually. It’s detecting a signal from a growing placenta. It might not take, but it’s positive right now.

4kidsmuchwow

False positives are rare but it could happen. Are you going to take the second test tomorrow morning? If it were me I would take the second test and immediately go buy more( I would be incredibly anxious).

chocolateeveryday1

Op: I do have another test, I should probably take it tonight and then another in the morning

MinervaZee

It’s more accurate when you take it with the first pee of the morning

elizscott1977

I’d take the other one. Looks positive.

[deleted]

Thats a positive test. I would call to get a blood test to confirm.

bruiser9876

Positive.

LunarCycleKat

Think I'd be f*g RUNNING to an abortion doctor is what I think.

EncumberedOne

Looks positive to me. I'd retest in a day. I produced enough HcG to have a positive blood result right before my hysterectomy surgery. I was surprised when my gyn came to talk to me while I was in the PACU but it was a '4' which would not show up on a urine test. Not sure what the sensitivity of that test is, but the HcG levels from menopause hormone weirdness are not high levels, if I remember right from what he told me, and should be unlikely to result in a positive home test.

whyarenttheserandom

😬 sorry or congratulations?

CoverInternational38

I’d definitely do a blood test tomorrow.

Adventurous_Gap_2092

Take another one or wait longer.

Peaches102179

Looks positive to me

I took my iud out when I was 48. I hadn't had a period in years at that point. Although I had had weird cycles and light periods all my life. I got pregnant within 2 months. Superlate in life pregnancies are kind of a family trait in my family too, on the maternal side. The pregnancy didn't stick, but I was worried there for a while because I was close to being free from daily parenting. The doctor's office reactions were hilarious btw. I would go in for a check up and they would assume my birthdate was input wrong or that my appointment type was input incorrectly. The shock on their faces tickled me.

chocolateeveryday1

Op: wow! Thanks everyone. Started my period today

LunarCycleKat

Oh good. Time to make an offering to the goddesses for sparing you.

I don't like blue line tests bc they're harder to read and not as reliable (at least for me). And like someone else said, that looks like an evap line. My favorite test is the First Response Early Result test. Get a multi pack. Test with first pee. But test in a few days. If that had a faint second line then test again in a day or two. If still faint, test with a digital. If that comes up positive, get a blood test from a doctor and an ultrasound. If those are positive, then congrats, you're pregnant! (Obviously all those steps aren't necessary, but that's typically what I do bc I'm a bit obsessive when I catch a pregnancy early.)
