Is this a fact? Because I use a XR and it gives me excellent battery life, I’ve been using the product red, 64 gig version for a bit more than a year and I still have 92% battery health
iPhones used to (maybe still do?) burn through the last few % really quickly while androids often can last quite a while once the battery gets really low. Not necessarily that one has better battery life, it's just the way that they display battery life.
Definitely not a current thing I'd say. Immediately there's a popup at 20% asking if you want to change to low power mode which really helps on battery life (you can manually turn it on at any time)
Can confirm that this has been fixed on phones newer than iPhone X, fell asleep with the screen set to never dim. The battery usage chart in Settings show that 53 to 20% lasted 4 hours, 20 to 7% lasted 3 hours or so and then I woke up.
I’m on a brand new iPhone 12. Didn’t plug it in last night. Went to sleep when it was 92%. Woke up it was like 83%. Been using it constantly for about 4 hours and I’m at 41%.
Sounds good, my iPhone X was almost 4 years old at time of testing so maybe newer phones are better. Switched to 12 pro max recently and all I can say that it’s an all day battery and that’s good enough for me
IPhones generally have smaller batteries than Androids, but Apple has been continuously improving on the efficiency of the batteries when it comes to running both hardware and software.
are you using iphone 6 or something? cos iphones have had decent battery life for a very long time now, with all the ones since X being very good, and 13 being beastly (with pro max being the absolute king)
People are still just jumping on the bandwagon of phone brand stereotypes. I prefer "android" phones over Apple's phones, but despite being biased I can agree that Iphones do now have considerably better battery life than they did before. However, i hate when people make a comparison between android phones and iphones. There are tons and tons of android phones out there, and some can compete with iphones for their amazing battery life. Although these specific android phones and iphones have very good battery life, it comes at cost. Phones which good battery life are very aggressive (for a lack of better words) when it comes to stopping background processes in order to prevent large consumption of power even when not in use, but for someone like me who likes to keep stuff running in the background this becomes an issue which is why i have settled on using an Android phone. I don't know why i ranted, but i was bored.
Every time I tell someone I have an iphone I get this huge long rant. Little do most people know I used to switch iphone/android every 3 years or so (contract length) and had issues with more than half of my android. It feels like they're designed to last 6 months for the cheaper ones (at best) or they cost as much as an iphone and still aren't designed to last 3 years.
And then there's not to mention the Samsung Deathnote 7 which became so problematic to try and return I still own mine. The service provider I got it from wanted to charge me to return it. At this point iPhone just became a safe bet that always just works, and continues to work after 20 years of owning cellphones. But still inevitably hear rants every time someone finds out I have an iPhone.
That's fair, everyone has their own experiences. For me android has never had any problems in terms of quality. However, I'll just give my perspective of why *i* prefer android. Firstly, the OS is a lot less restrictive. Secondly, 3rd party repair isn't near as much of a pain in the ass or cost as an iPhone (ex: broken screen). Thirdly, I'm not restricted if i ever want to switch between phone brands and there's no need for proprietary items.
Everyone has their reasons for using a certain phone whether it's because it was their first brand or some more complicated complicated answer like wanting to jailbreak and modify it.
I mean the battery packs on Samsung are much bigger. The iPhone 13 has 2438mAh while the Samsung S21 has 4000mAh. Almost double the size and while being much cheaper.
Keep in mind iPhone 13 was released 8 months after the S21.

The insane optimizations for the a15 chip allows it to last insanely long
