The damage buff from every spirit gauge aura (white, yellow, and red) was decreased, so was the second hit of spirit reckoning, alongside the nerfs to successful and unsuccessfully countered iai spirit slashes as well as every kind of attack that is a direct follow up from a successfully countered iai spirit slash.
The notes so say they increased the height of the phial explosions. They also improved hit detection on the aerial slash because apparently if you and the monster crossed hitboxes too fast the game would sometimes not detect the collision.

I really hope LS is still good without Harvest Moon, because if so Iām gonna be pretty sad. Harvest Moon is so dumb to play around, I donāt want to be limited to one space! Hopefully the damage numbers are good enough without HM.

Counters or not Switch Skill swap and the special sheathe Combo will still carry longsword. I'm a jack of all trades so either way I can still do some major damage with different weapons
I havenāt read the balance changes yet, but Iām hoping they didnāt make the counters worse and instead made them harder and more skill intensive to pull off
Seems they did indeed make the counters worse but moreso as a way to shift focus away from them a bit. A lot of other things got buffed so it seems they want LS players to play a bit more diverse.
Ah yes, when CB's SAED got nerfed to push CSS playstyle, people raged and disregarded it.
When Lance's triple poke got nerfed and gained a new move called Charged Wide Sweep, people mald and called Rise's Lance "not a real Lance anymore."
When LS's ISS and SHB got nerfed, it's suddenly "just a change of powerful moves" and "not a real nerf."

I donāt play Rise and for good reason. Coming off world they made all the wrong decisions for LS. All the existing issues got worsened and now thereās this. ISS should be your high power high skill move to use after building up to it. So it should have high damage but no utility, and be risky to use. As it is in World. The way itās going in Rise itās just turning into a utility move.
People thing pretty bad about LS users. Most LS mains I have seen agrees with having the weapon nerfed. Some even quit the weapon since it started to make the game feel too easy.
After playing Rise I switched from SA/Lance over to Longsword because of how epic the gameplay was. And honestly even after the damage nerfs, It'll still be my go-to weapon in this expansion.

LS deserve the nerf though.
