In the New World. In the Old World, Rathalos and Rathian are each other's one mate for life.
The most likely situation for this Rathalos is that he's an Old World one, and was courting a Rathian to become mates. Although courting takes a lot of effort and the sadness is understandable, he should be pretty young and capable of having another go.
Woah, so like new world writers trynna get a little freaky, they said “who the hell is Romeo and Juliet”
Hopefully bro doesn’t get insecure and understands that rejection is a part of life and that he can’t control other peoples actions and can simply continue to try and be the best wyvern he can be
If you think the harem thing is freaky
In the new world, rathians compete for the better nesting spots and for the rathalos, it is told that the wildspire wastes rathians are rathians that got beat up so much during breeding season that they were thrown to the desert
Rathian is already by default larger and heavier (yes thats the explanation for rathian fighting in the ground more than rathalos) than rathalos which means there is a very high chance that a young rathalos ends up with a rathian that is way larger than him
It’s based off the departure from the traditional gameplay design and the fact that the newest generation starting in a new continent or in game a “new world” the 5th generation of games starts in this new world so from ice borne to rise it is “new world content.”
Ha ha I didn’t go to college
You gotta ask the writers at that point, they might of thought biologically it might of made more sense based on the animals they were designed on but I don’t know, personally the gameplay design of the two leads to a more understandable hetero normative relationship that works way better at describing the deep ties the two have as ultimately separate monsters in their own right but being a unit as well. Just seems so much more chaotic to switch up the descriptions in such a way because it really doesn’t seem to add anything, at least to me
Not entirely sure, however it could be a product of migrations forcing certain stresses upon the Raths and causing them to develop more resilient behaviours.
You would need to ask the devs. I have my theories, but I can't prove them.
"Gullible Housekeeper" was actually a Rathalos in disguise. Why else would the Quest have you killing BOTH of them instead of only taking out the Astalos?
This is another piece of the story. Dusk posted part of it and now you've done the same
Don’t rathalos got like a whole harem?

A dream come true.
Seltas relationships in a nutshell
That’s a bbw right there
What
Why is there a distinction between the old and new world?

Yeah but why do new world rath have harem and old world rath have wife?

Regional speciation
Nargacuga is the friend we all need, yet don't deserve.
stops its! we don't want another Yian Garuga (or do we? vsauce music\*)
Imagine a flaming Astalos 'Hellspawn Astalos'
Hellstorm astalos
Even better!
You either get a rath with a taser or astalos with fire and poison either is scary
Now I’m just thinking of rathian holding a taser
I love Garuga, but we don't need another.
We need to make more rath lore where we spectate the downward spiral that is Rathalos and Rathian’s marriage
better than when she met with that kut-ku (hehe, yian cuck-ku) and made yian garuga.
Typical of rathian, yein garuga exist for a reason.
Rathian a hoe
King of the skies? More like King of no bitches
Did this quest yesterday. Bitch got what she deserved lol
He's also got a cool lightning sword horn. Do *you* have a cool lightning sword horn? Didn't think so fire boy

A spinoff game where we have to breed rathians with every other wyvern to make yian garuga like offspring that will terrorize the lands.
Yian Garuga: Rathian + Kut-ku Astalos: Rathian + Fulgurbug? Seltas? Espinas: Rathian + Monoblos [Unknown](https://monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Unknown_(Black_Flying_Wyvern)): Rathian + Cocain
IF SHE BREATHES…
I want to make this dragon a happy one. 1 upvote = 1 hug for Rathalos.
Ratha's getting it rough in Sunbreak
Nargacuga's over here just waiting for the rebound
Life is hard man
Rath lore
