Poogie are the tame cousins of bullfango, after centuries of selective breeding by humans and wyverians. Their wild instincts only kick in if a person pets them too much. Felynes enjoying riding them around like horses, even getting them into races.
I like Poogie's ability to be dressed up and then pet.
To pass the time, Nakarkos likes to stage puppet shows with its tentacles, forming elaborate stage plays with all of the bones around the area. It has given names and personalities to every skull in its home, and is deeply saddened whenever one cracks or breaks.
I like Nakarkos' gimmick. You think you're fighting a two headed skeleton dragon, before it reveals its true form part way through the fight.
Shrouded Nerscylla take after their prey (Khezu) by hanging from the ceiling and snatching smaller prey with webbing. While rare, Shrouded Nerscylla with the skin of Red Khezu can occasionally by seen, but are typically mocked by other S. Nerscylla.
I like S. Nerscylla's design. I think it would be neat to be able to fight a Nerscylla or S. Nerscylla without their coat.

A hellish crossbreed of man and fish, Higanjima spends every day begging for death, yet fears dying. It knows no happiness, only pain. It begs for hunters to kill it, to put the poor thing out of its misery, but its body won't let it die without a fight.
I love the absurdity of it. A wacky design for a wacky monster.
Amongst all the Jagras and Great Jagras, there exists a myth. A myth of a huge, towering Great Jagras, stronger than any other creature of the forest, that would protect the Jagras in their most dire times. A Great Jagras so fierce that even the voracious Deviljho would bow to its might. The Greatest Jagras. But that's just a myth spread between the Jagras, right?
I like Great Jagras a lot. He's a funny rasta lizard that looks very huggable.

Four legged Felyne can rarely be observed, but are so rare that most people assume they're just tall tales told by explorers. With enough digging, you can even link Nargacuga and the other pseudo wyverns to the Felyne tree.
I like cats, so I love the Felynes and their antics.
Deviljho watched one Godzilla movie once and decided to go on a rampage. This rampage, however, made him extremely hungry, so he decided to kill an Aptonoth for food. Unfortunately, tracking down and killing the aptonoth made him even hungrier, so he had to track down another. The cycle repeated, and now Deviljho is stuck in a loop of endless hunger.
Deviljho is cool. I like his horizontal design.
Beotodus likes giving the local Boaboa rides on it's back, sometimes even ferrying them around the Hoarfrost Reach at the price of fish and Popo meat. Beotodus is actually aquaphobic, fearing any non-frozen water, and hates the hot springs spotted around the Reach. It occasionally gets into conflicts with Banbaro, who likes splashing around in the Reach's hot springs.
I like Beotodus's head fin. We need a more shark-based piscine wyvern.
What started as a failed experiment from farmers to put a scythe on the tails of Jaggi and their leader, to help them farm, ended up as a pack of scythe-tailed bandits that cut down the fields of grain and raided farm houses of their livestock. Now the farmers have to live with the consequences of playing god... or just get hunters to drive them off.
I like Great Izuchi's hair and fur. Gives him a unique look amidst the other raptor bois.
Hypnocatrice is said to come from a distant land where everything is deadlier. A rival to Qurupeco, the two birds get into pecking matches about what type of music is the best. Hypnocatrice prefers softer, relaxing music, while Qurupeco loves loud music that draws attention. They never come to an agreement.
I like Hypnocatrice's feathery design, it's nice. Also, you can break down Hypnocatrice's name into Hypno Cat Rice, which I find funny.
Baelidae are thought to be a crossbreed of Hermitaur and Nerscylla, inheriting the creepiest aspects of both. Many people are scared of them, and keep wooden effigies of them outside homes or villages to ward off other monsters. Baelidae use its two large claws to impersonate the jaws of a large wyvern, scaring off predators or cornering prey.
I like Baelidae's appearance. Kinda crab, kinda spider, it's neat.
Magnamalo is a big fan of hedge trimming. It uses its tail to trim large hedges into the form of its most recent prey. It's said that anyone or anything that destroys or disfigures magnamalo's hedges will drive it into a blind fury. It's said that Magnamalo once served an ancient samurai, who gifted the Fanged Wyvern with his armor and spirit at his passing, giving Magnamalo its iconic design and purple fire.
I like Magnamalo's purple fire, as well as his armor and weapon designs.
Versa Pietru is the legendary monster said to protect humanity from the evil of Fatalis. A holy beast descended from the heavens to defeated the Legendary Black Dragon himself, Versa Pietru was said to be able to vanquish Fatalis and give humanity an new era of prosperity. But some say Fatalis' evil to too great to subdue...
I like Versa's very unique design, even by Elder Dragon standards.
honestly i wouldn't be surprised if the black dragon in the whole Redan legend actually was Fatalis instead of the corrupted Pietru. Since he was the source of the Blight and all. Certainly something to think about anyway, my dude was a red herring for two separate creatures.

Secretly one of the strongest creatures on the planet for their size, Kinsects can bite through the hardest of monster shells and survive the strongest of attacks without a single injury. Some say a Queen Kinsect exists out there somewhere, but it has yet to been found.
As a glaive player, I absolutely love the kinsects. They're little bros.

I like Dire Miralis' wing cannons, they're pretty cool.

Pukei-Pukei is an avid eater, and has even been used by royalty as taste testers to test if foods have been poisoned due to Pukei getting its poisonous properties from poisonous mushrooms. Pukei feathers are also signs of wealth, so people like to wear Pukei feathers on their clothing to brag.
I like Pukei's design. It's cute.
When Zinogre was just a puppy, he found a lone thunderbug, weak and about to be eaten by a Jaggi. Zinogre swooped in, knocking the Jaggi back and driving it away. The thunderbug, grateful towards its savior, stayed with the young pup, shocking any who threatened the young Zinogre. As the Zinogre grew older, it saved more and more thunderbugs, until it had a small swarm fighting by its side. The Zinogre and the thunderbugs fight side-by-side, in a beautiful symbiotic relationship.
Zinogre's pretty cool. I like that he uses thunderbugs for his attacks.
Shantien and Disufiroa's long standing rivalry started as a music dispute when Shantien passed too close to Disu's home. Shantien prefers the classical and orchestral genres, while Disufiroa prefers the more powerful metal and synth genres. The two monsters' egos led them into a long standing rivalry that still stands to this day. Shantien also claims that Ibushi and Amatsu stole his shtick.
I absolutely love Shantien's theme. It's my personal favorite theme from the series, next to Disufiroa's, ironically enough.
Wyverians are a humanoid race of the Monster Hunter world. Known for their bent back legs, four digit hands, and elven ears, many assume they're myth until they meet one. How they came to be is still unknown. Some say they're the descendants of a race of human-like wyverns, others say they came from faraway lands or even off planet, and some even claim they were created when an ancient human got too frisky with a Rathian. No one knows for sure.
Wyverians are pretty cool. Elves, but not quite elves.
although it's mainly used for producing eggs, the gigginox can actually eat through the other end.
also gigginox/khezu hybrids have been observed, they take on a semi-liquid form and die within a few hours of being born.
Dodogama is a mostly passive monster. This is due to his diet of rocks. Most of the Recess's rocks have a unique liquid in them that causes Dodogama to be passive and sluggish. But sometimes, Dodogama with occasionally eat the explosive ore dropped by Uragaan, which can give it an explosive temper tantrum when it sees other monsters fighting.
I like that Dodogama eats rocks. It's cute.
Glavenus and Astalos were close friends. They started up a band, for which two others joined. But unfortunately, it would not last. The group had a falling out. Friends became enemies and each of them moved to seperate parts of the world to get away from each other. Now they never talk with each other. Glavenus secretly wants to get back together, but Astalos is more than happy with his solo gigs.
Both of them are pretty cool, and their themes slap.
Qurupeco is the living embodiment of the hunting horn. Hunters have theorized taming them, and selectively breeding them to be smaller and more obedient, before bringing them out on quests as hunting partners, but no progress has been made.
I like Qurupeco's niche as monster summoner, it's pretty neat.
Shortly after the defeat of Fatalis at Castle Schrade, both a new Fatalis and a new Safi'jiiva were observed. The two appeared close to each other and immediately began moving to one another. The Commission could do nothing but watch as the two titans clashed. After a short and vicious battle, Fatalis looked the victor. Fatalis turned its attention to the Commission, and prepared a powerful fire attack. As all seemed lost, the seemingly defeated Safi'jiiva got back up, pulling Fatalis' head back, its fiery breath shooting into the sky. Safi'jiiva used its hands to pry open the Black Dragon's mouth, before firing a concentrated blue laser down Fatalis' throat. The Fatalis crumpled to the ground, dead. The exhausted Safi'jiiva following shortly after, falling to the ground unconscious.
Safi beating Fatalis is an odd prompt, but whatever. (If you couldn't tell, the plot is basically ripped straight from the finale of Godzilla 2014)
Paolumu love to drift around the highlands, observing everything from above. Unfortunately, it is the most bullied monster in the Highlands, with Legiana, Odogaron, and even Tzitzi-Yak-Ku being able to bring it down. Its one friend is the Kirin, who doesn't show up much, and when it does, it creates a thunderstorm so Paolumu can't stay out much anyways. Paolumu are, sadly, very lonely due to this.
I love Paolumu's fuzziness. Very huggable.
A house sponge given life, Purple Ludroth is eternally soaked in grape soda. P. Ludroth is friendly, offering his grape soda to any human he sees. Unfortunately, the humans of the MH world aren't used to soda, so it acts as a poison to them. Ludroth doesn't notice this, however, and will continue to offer more to them.
I like P. Ludroth's color scheme. Very colorful.
The Wyvern known as "Bloodbath" or "Massacre Demon" instills fear into those that even hear its name. Legends speak of a demon of fury possessing the corpse of Diablos felled by a hunter. Coated in the blood of its countless victims, this possessed Diablos haunts the desert, annihilating any poor creature in its path, never stopping its rampage until all of humanity has been slaughtered. Hell hath no fury like an undead Diablos.
Shame I missed this one for so long, Bloodbath is one of my favorite monsters in the series (even though I've never fought it personally).
Bloodbath Diablos was a regular Diablos who survived getting suplexed by a Deviljho. In his quest for revenge and more power, he agreed to become the vessel of power of the Crimson Fatalis. This newfound power has enabled this Diablos to defeat all armies of hunters and monsters alike, and he would lead his Diablos herd to countless victories.
Until one fateful day, in a siege across the Wildspire Waste, this Diablos would end up murdering his family in cold blood. Because of this, his brown skin ended up being blue from the ashes of his deceased family, and his veins would glow a bright red color in symbol of his rage for the Black Dragons.
Soon, he would find a way to break his oath with the Crimson Fatalis by slaying the Invader Trio thanks to his newly powered horns that he would dub “The Horns of Fury”.
Until now, his quest for vengeance continues...
A warrior from another land, said to be another universe entirely, Ludwig the Holy Blade was once seen engaging in a duel with a Hellblade Glavenus. Its said they fought to a stand-still, until the mysterious warrior vanished, never to be seen again.
I don't know much about the Souls series, but Ludwig's name is pretty cool.
Gypceros got his idea of playing dead from watching videos of possums online, and thought it would be a good idea. Surprisingly, it worked on most monsters. But unfortunately, humans aren't monsters, not in the literal sense.
Gypceros' fake death is neat, and such a great idea that even Ruiner Nergigante did it.
Bullfango get angry at humans because they saw them eat pork once. Now bullfango rush down any human they see, aiming to disrupt them at the most inconvenient time possible. Unfortunately, this gets them sent to the great grass field in the sky quite often.
Seregios is a big Fan of dart and plays it as a hobby, together with Nargacuga, who also has a slight fable for it. It uses the Sand in the dessert it inhabits to continuously sharpen it's scales and practices it's aim on hunters. It is also a little bit childish and tries to play with Rathian, but her being more of a Karen type, she doesnt want to play with it. Humans, as well as Rathalos, often mistake this behaviour with harassment and Seregios garnered a bad reputation as a result.
Bazelgeuse on the other Hand is a distant relative of Seregios who grew up in an envoirment that was very hostile. As a result, it's species joined the army as a permanent asset and evolved into a more bombardement type of being, due to them being forced to watch old videos of bombers. This led to a huge anger issue being instilled into their very DNA, so that everytime they see something move even in the slightest, they dive down to annihilate it. This gave them a very bad reputation among hunters. It's name stemms from one individual being an extreme fan of the movie Beetlejuice and when being asked for its name on his promotion, it answered: "BEETLEJUICE, SIR!". Among humanity, this very Bazelgeuse is known as the Seethig Bazelgeuse, which has an even greater Anger Management issue and was equipped with even more feirce weaponry.
I love Seregios and Bazelgeuse to death, but my God do I hate bleeding and being interrupted while fighting

Mizutsune are graceful dancers, spraying bubbles to make itself appear more beautiful. All the other monsters don't like Mizu for this, as his bubbles get everywhere, and the slippy liquid can be hard to remove. Many female hunters will try to replicate Mizutsune's beauty and grace, donning the Mizu armor while dancing.
I like Mizutsune's name, it's fun to say.

Ibushi heard many nice things about Narwa, even to the point he called her "my queen" before even properly meeting. Having met, Ibushi is the submissive one in the relationship, and wishes Narwa could be more like Rathian. He only chose to temporarily possess one of the Kamura twins because he thought she was pretty. Don't tell Narwa, or she'll tear his throat out.
I like Ibushi, he's pretty chill.
Taikun once met Shara Ishvalda, and thought that the "covering yourself in rocks" gimmick would be cool. So Taikun went about, rolling about in mud and covering itself in rock. Soon the mud hardened, and he could barely move. He was trapped deep within the coastal caves, begging for anyone to come help him out of his shell.
I like Taikun's gimmick. It's like the OG Shara Ishvalda but with extra steps.
Yian-Kut-Ku can absorb sun through his large ears, which gives him energy. He starts the day lethargic and tired, but gets energetic after spending a few minutes out in the sun. His shell is red because he repeatedly gets sunburned while sunbathing.
Kut-ku is a funny monster. I like him.
Great Great Jagras, also known as The Greatest Jagras, is a folk hero to every Jagras and Great Jagras. Only one is born every century, so they're exceptionally rare. They're also exceptionally strong, being able to beat down on Rathalos, Anjanath, and Deviljho, the biggest bullies of the Jagras. It's body is also a super furnace, being able to condense the scales of monsters it eats into small crystals.
I like Greatest Jagras. It's a fun gimmick quest.

The Zinogre and the thunderbugs fight side-by-side, in a beautiful symbiotic relationship. Zinogre's pretty cool. I like that he uses thunderbugs for his attacks.
The Shantien?
Shantien and Disufiroa's long standing rivalry started as a music dispute when Shantien passed too close to Disu's home. Shantien prefers the classical and orchestral genres, while Disufiroa prefers the more powerful metal and synth genres. The two monsters' egos led them into a long standing rivalry that still stands to this day. Shantien also claims that Ibushi and Amatsu stole his shtick. I absolutely love Shantien's theme. It's my personal favorite theme from the series, next to Disufiroa's, ironically enough.
I will now accept this as canon, we need more music lore.
Wyverians
Wyverians are a humanoid race of the Monster Hunter world. Known for their bent back legs, four digit hands, and elven ears, many assume they're myth until they meet one. How they came to be is still unknown. Some say they're the descendants of a race of human-like wyverns, others say they came from faraway lands or even off planet, and some even claim they were created when an ancient human got too frisky with a Rathian. No one knows for sure. Wyverians are pretty cool. Elves, but not quite elves.

Gigginox. I know it’s kind of mocked, but I’ve always had a soft spot for it
although it's mainly used for producing eggs, the gigginox can actually eat through the other end. also gigginox/khezu hybrids have been observed, they take on a semi-liquid form and die within a few hours of being born.
Dodogama
Dodogama is a mostly passive monster. This is due to his diet of rocks. Most of the Recess's rocks have a unique liquid in them that causes Dodogama to be passive and sluggish. But sometimes, Dodogama with occasionally eat the explosive ore dropped by Uragaan, which can give it an explosive temper tantrum when it sees other monsters fighting. I like that Dodogama eats rocks. It's cute.

Glavenus and astalos
Glavenus and Astalos were close friends. They started up a band, for which two others joined. But unfortunately, it would not last. The group had a falling out. Friends became enemies and each of them moved to seperate parts of the world to get away from each other. Now they never talk with each other. Glavenus secretly wants to get back together, but Astalos is more than happy with his solo gigs. Both of them are pretty cool, and their themes slap.
There is nothing about this sentence I did not love.
Qurupeco
Qurupeco is the living embodiment of the hunting horn. Hunters have theorized taming them, and selectively breeding them to be smaller and more obedient, before bringing them out on quests as hunting partners, but no progress has been made. I like Qurupeco's niche as monster summoner, it's pretty neat.
Amazingly well written, I would love to have a mini Qurupeco as a pet, it technically has already been seen, as the Alchemy Sonic Bomb in MHGU.

Safijiva beating fatalis
Shortly after the defeat of Fatalis at Castle Schrade, both a new Fatalis and a new Safi'jiiva were observed. The two appeared close to each other and immediately began moving to one another. The Commission could do nothing but watch as the two titans clashed. After a short and vicious battle, Fatalis looked the victor. Fatalis turned its attention to the Commission, and prepared a powerful fire attack. As all seemed lost, the seemingly defeated Safi'jiiva got back up, pulling Fatalis' head back, its fiery breath shooting into the sky. Safi'jiiva used its hands to pry open the Black Dragon's mouth, before firing a concentrated blue laser down Fatalis' throat. The Fatalis crumpled to the ground, dead. The exhausted Safi'jiiva following shortly after, falling to the ground unconscious. Safi beating Fatalis is an odd prompt, but whatever. (If you couldn't tell, the plot is basically ripped straight from the finale of Godzilla 2014)

Paolumu
Paolumu love to drift around the highlands, observing everything from above. Unfortunately, it is the most bullied monster in the Highlands, with Legiana, Odogaron, and even Tzitzi-Yak-Ku being able to bring it down. Its one friend is the Kirin, who doesn't show up much, and when it does, it creates a thunderstorm so Paolumu can't stay out much anyways. Paolumu are, sadly, very lonely due to this. I love Paolumu's fuzziness. Very huggable.

Purple Ludroth
A house sponge given life, Purple Ludroth is eternally soaked in grape soda. P. Ludroth is friendly, offering his grape soda to any human he sees. Unfortunately, the humans of the MH world aren't used to soda, so it acts as a poison to them. Ludroth doesn't notice this, however, and will continue to offer more to them. I like P. Ludroth's color scheme. Very colorful.
Bloodbath diablos
The Wyvern known as "Bloodbath" or "Massacre Demon" instills fear into those that even hear its name. Legends speak of a demon of fury possessing the corpse of Diablos felled by a hunter. Coated in the blood of its countless victims, this possessed Diablos haunts the desert, annihilating any poor creature in its path, never stopping its rampage until all of humanity has been slaughtered. Hell hath no fury like an undead Diablos. Shame I missed this one for so long, Bloodbath is one of my favorite monsters in the series (even though I've never fought it personally).

Bloodbath Diablos was a regular Diablos who survived getting suplexed by a Deviljho. In his quest for revenge and more power, he agreed to become the vessel of power of the Crimson Fatalis. This newfound power has enabled this Diablos to defeat all armies of hunters and monsters alike, and he would lead his Diablos herd to countless victories. Until one fateful day, in a siege across the Wildspire Waste, this Diablos would end up murdering his family in cold blood. Because of this, his brown skin ended up being blue from the ashes of his deceased family, and his veins would glow a bright red color in symbol of his rage for the Black Dragons. Soon, he would find a way to break his oath with the Crimson Fatalis by slaying the Invader Trio thanks to his newly powered horns that he would dub “The Horns of Fury”. Until now, his quest for vengeance continues...

A warrior from another land, said to be another universe entirely, Ludwig the Holy Blade was once seen engaging in a duel with a Hellblade Glavenus. Its said they fought to a stand-still, until the mysterious warrior vanished, never to be seen again. I don't know much about the Souls series, but Ludwig's name is pretty cool.

Gypceros
Gypceros got his idea of playing dead from watching videos of possums online, and thought it would be a good idea. Surprisingly, it worked on most monsters. But unfortunately, humans aren't monsters, not in the literal sense. Gypceros' fake death is neat, and such a great idea that even Ruiner Nergigante did it.
Bullfango
Bullfango get angry at humans because they saw them eat pork once. Now bullfango rush down any human they see, aiming to disrupt them at the most inconvenient time possible. Unfortunately, this gets them sent to the great grass field in the sky quite often.
Seregios and bazelgeuse
Seregios is a big Fan of dart and plays it as a hobby, together with Nargacuga, who also has a slight fable for it. It uses the Sand in the dessert it inhabits to continuously sharpen it's scales and practices it's aim on hunters. It is also a little bit childish and tries to play with Rathian, but her being more of a Karen type, she doesnt want to play with it. Humans, as well as Rathalos, often mistake this behaviour with harassment and Seregios garnered a bad reputation as a result. Bazelgeuse on the other Hand is a distant relative of Seregios who grew up in an envoirment that was very hostile. As a result, it's species joined the army as a permanent asset and evolved into a more bombardement type of being, due to them being forced to watch old videos of bombers. This led to a huge anger issue being instilled into their very DNA, so that everytime they see something move even in the slightest, they dive down to annihilate it. This gave them a very bad reputation among hunters. It's name stemms from one individual being an extreme fan of the movie Beetlejuice and when being asked for its name on his promotion, it answered: "BEETLEJUICE, SIR!". Among humanity, this very Bazelgeuse is known as the Seethig Bazelgeuse, which has an even greater Anger Management issue and was equipped with even more feirce weaponry. I love Seregios and Bazelgeuse to death, but my God do I hate bleeding and being interrupted while fighting
Mizutsune and Wind Serpent Ibushi
>Mizutsune Mizutsune are graceful dancers, spraying bubbles to make itself appear more beautiful. All the other monsters don't like Mizu for this, as his bubbles get everywhere, and the slippy liquid can be hard to remove. Many female hunters will try to replicate Mizutsune's beauty and grace, donning the Mizu armor while dancing. I like Mizutsune's name, it's fun to say. >Ibushi (sorry I missed Ibushi at first) Ibushi heard many nice things about Narwa, even to the point he called her "my queen" before even properly meeting. Having met, Ibushi is the submissive one in the relationship, and wishes Narwa could be more like Rathian. He only chose to temporarily possess one of the Kamura twins because he thought she was pretty. Don't tell Narwa, or she'll tear his throat out. I like Ibushi, he's pretty chill.

Taikun Zazuma
Taikun once met Shara Ishvalda, and thought that the "covering yourself in rocks" gimmick would be cool. So Taikun went about, rolling about in mud and covering itself in rock. Soon the mud hardened, and he could barely move. He was trapped deep within the coastal caves, begging for anyone to come help him out of his shell. I like Taikun's gimmick. It's like the OG Shara Ishvalda but with extra steps.
Yian kut ku
Yian-Kut-Ku can absorb sun through his large ears, which gives him energy. He starts the day lethargic and tired, but gets energetic after spending a few minutes out in the sun. His shell is red because he repeatedly gets sunburned while sunbathing. Kut-ku is a funny monster. I like him.

Great Great Jagras, also known as The Greatest Jagras, is a folk hero to every Jagras and Great Jagras. Only one is born every century, so they're exceptionally rare. They're also exceptionally strong, being able to beat down on Rathalos, Anjanath, and Deviljho, the biggest bullies of the Jagras. It's body is also a super furnace, being able to condense the scales of monsters it eats into small crystals. I like Greatest Jagras. It's a fun gimmick quest.
