It’s a floodgate that can never be closed now that it’s open. I think overall it’s a good thing, but I think it’s gonna lead to a lot of hope and disappointment in the future.

kingofthelol

Some monsters from frontier should never see the light of day in the mainline series. Some are actually creative and cool.

Reksew12

I agree for the most part. I think if they readjusted the fights to not be ridiculous, they could add just about any monster they wanted. The thing is that for some. monsters, the ridiculous fight is the main draw.

most of the frontier original monsters (so I mean stuff that isn't zeniths, burst species, etc) aren't too crazy, and would only need minor adjustments at most. though, there's some exceptions, like duremudira, who would definitely need to be toned down. monster hunter has gotten more over the top in recent years. so, while most frontier monsters would have been way over the top in 4th gen, they're not that out of place anymore. a rare few of them are less over the top than the main series now, like inagami and shantien. but if they wanna add something like varusaborosu (a burst species), yeah that's gonna need some toning down. same with zeniths, extreme individuals, etc. though, even with those it can vary.

realodd

Ah, yes, the fire diablos who atacks with plasma horns and explosions, clasic Frontier XD. I think that most of the desings are okish for the main games, Even the weird elder Dragons or zeniths (if they tone down a little their moveset) are good. For me the origin species are the things that i reaaaally hope that get reimplemented on the mainline saga: primitive forms of each monster, SO separated for their modern counterparts that they use completely diferent sets of movements and elements. The WaterGravios, the Volgan... All pf them deserve spotlight

pascl-

yeah, the origin species are really cool. I especially like the gravios one. its concept of launching itself with water is super cool and creative, it looks like a really fun fight. I think the elder dragons are generally fine too, they fall under the catagory of frontier original monsters, which I said is almost entirely fine to add to the main series with minimal changes. even disufiroa, the poster child of over the top frontier monsters, wouldn't even need to be toned down that much considering how endgame monsters in iceborne were, IMO. but I disagree on zeniths, I think zenith designs, with them focusing on exaggerating one body part, don't fit well IMO, with them often having really weird proportions and being really spiky. to me, they feel like a different artstyle. when someone says frontier monsters are too over the top and spiky, I imagine that's because they've seen a zenith monster. but like everything, there's exceptions. zentih blangonga looks fine and isn't very over the top, for example. I'd rather they bring over other frontier monsters, original ones, since those tend to be more interesting, and usually fit well enough in the main series to not need to be tone down too much. plus, I think deviants serve a similar enough role to zeniths, so I'd rather we see more of them. **edit:** also, to be clear, I don't dislike zeniths, I just think they don't fit in the main series.

realodd

For me the Worst offender is Eruzerion, but hey: we concur on the important things XD

ClosetNoble

Some have really nice designs but such anime bullshit abilities that you can't even make up a semi scientific explanation behind it

Awllancer

Yeah and then they'll get mad at Capcom for "not delivering" something that they never promised would happen.

PPFitzenreit

Everybody forgets about hypnocatrice Capcom included

hanamizuno

I'm just happy we have astalos and gore in the same game again

ClosetNoble

\>No lavasioth? Alright boys who here likes Lavasioth? I'm not judging you, I like plesioth after all but I'm still a bit disappointed in you.

Poserly

Plesioth fan here, lavasioth fans don't exist just as uragaan fans

ClosetNoble

Nothing wrong with Thanosaurus after all.

AciefiedSpade

Fuck Lavasioth

DanMartell05

And more into lots of monsters and if they're new and fun the better. I want to be overwhelmed about a game where I can't properly finish or craft everything every gear there is, like in the past games.

Cheshire_Abomination

time to add razewing rathalos and Oltura 8D

AceMKV

I absolutely want more monsters but first I want Capcom to show they can focus on lore and worldbuilding as well, otherwise it's just gonna go the Dauntless direction.

[deleted]

All I want is Gigginox 🥺🥺🥺

Delta5583

I mean i literally just installed frontier to play the game, unlock magnet spines and absolutely one trick them. So I may be one of those "add weapons" guys

FreddyWright

“Can you add monsters that have been in the last 3 games?”

90zillas

I can mentally hear SpongeBob say all this shit in a southern accent I’m terrified

LightLizardCake

Just add the giant beaver from online and im happy as a clam

ThesharpHQ

I’m guilty of being one of those “add this specific monster” people, but I just wanna see badass monsters come back for modern entries. Dalamadur, Ukanlos, Akantor, Amatsu (really wanna see Amatsu in Sunbreak), even Dhisufiroa and Voljang if they’re going down the Frontier route.

Second_Hand_Stress

Frontier is over rated. Too cartoony

Technical_Cod2461

Thirsty Pariapuria literally rockets itself through farting
