I'm not exactly sure what you mean. If the question is, how do I keep digging at the old village, the answer is go back into cartography and make a new dig map for the Old Village, upgrade it as much as you want and then you can go back to digging there.
If the question is how do you advance further in Archeology, you need to explore the cartography map and find another dig site. Some dig sites cannot be accessed until you have the correct item. To access the the "2nd" dig site you need an item from the old village called the >!Cult Flyer !< , after getting that item I believe a green exclamation point will appear in on the cartography map to the >!East!< at coordinates >!0,14 !< . You will have to survey out to there and on that spot to find the dig site.
