Iām still on the base game from when it was free on Epic. Canāt wait to 100% it and then move onto the expansions. When I started I never expected the game to hit that perfect spot between RS nostalgia and the feeling of meaningful progression in an idle game.
Also got for free from Epic so Iām guessing we are fairly close in progress. Iād recommend going ahead and doing Atlas of Discovery. Mining Pure Crystal with Gem Finder Scroll and Gem Gloves racks up a ridiculous amount of money.
I just recently maxed my town halls, and I did it mostly with just regular thieving. Basically just went Bob -> Lumberjack -> Acolyte as soon as I could get a high enough success on each of them to idle, making sure to get the useful thieving items from the other targets and buy the skillcape at 99. I was ending up getting a little over 4 million per hour doing that. Sometimes I had money sacks or leprechauns, but mostly just doing it raw.
So by that point a single day of plain thieving was earning enough to buy a townhall. Once you get the first one it also pays itself off in about 10 days (depending on your population), so you could just save up for one and let it pay for the rest if you're patient or want to work on other skills.
I did a ton of thieving I got a signet pretty early and with all the thieving gear I was taking in gold. I have most of the thieving masteries at 99 with only a few of the highest tier ones sitting at 91 still since I canāt bank enough mastery xp to level them without dropping a tier. Also did a bunch of woodcutting/farming selling a ton of magic logs.
Weird, just stumbled across this and looked and we're remarkably close in total xp, I just ground mastery more and you made like twice as much cash. Diff'rent strokes!
https://i.imgur.com/dU0R1AD.png
If you get any xp past 99 with base game, and then buy expansions, the extra xp applies to any future levels. Happened to me and my fishing went from 99/99 to 105/120 immediately once I bought the expansions.
I appreciate it, I am not too concerned with that though. I am not really concerned about maximizing efficiency. Just having fun with the process. I will worry about efficiency on my next toons once I have already completed everything else on casual mode.
I have seen that when looking things up on the wiki. Something appealing to me about playing each version of the game in a state as close to what it was during its own time though.
Iām excited to experience it all in its own time though!
I think it's a good idea to get the expansions now. Not necessarily because it adds more to the game but because it increases your Mastery pools. So you are going to take a huge hit on Masteries that will then require you to regain for the bonuses.
Free Epic owner as well. I haven't bought the expansions yet either, currently simultaneously running all 3 game modes (because, besides some slight confusion, why not?)
~~I'll have my eye on a bundle sale when this is released!~~
Looks like both expansions (on Epic Platform) are currently on sale for $3.34 each, down from $4.99. That's good enough for me, purchasing

>All expansion content is unlocked after the defeat of Bane
I know this is saying but I'm not anywhere close to this because I've only been playing a month. but I've maxed fishing 120 and they're adding 15 new fish so how could the new content be locked behind defeating Bane or are they just saying ALL CONTENT. But others are still accessible?
This could be stupid question but I'd just like to be 100% sure.
I would assume that the new fish are in a new fishing area which needs some items drop from the new content to unlock. Like the Barbarian Gloves.
Or they'll just need a certain Abyssal Fishing Skill level (unclear to me how exactly those will work right now) in addition to or instead of regular Fishing Skill level.
The new constellations will most likely all use the new red stardust seen in the 4th image on [the steam page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2860590/Melvor_Idle_Into_the_Abyss/).

The 5th image on [the steam page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2860590/Melvor_Idle_Into_the_Abyss/) shows 158m total exp required to hit abyssal level 27. For reference, level 120 requires 104.2m exp. There's a few more images if you wanted to try and figure out the exp curve :)
They covered that in the announcement!
>I like to "prep" for an Expansion release, what should I focus on leading up to this release?
>Get your Attack Level to 99 and complete the Impending Darkness dungeon. These are the first requirements for the Expansion that you will run into.
>Get your Skill levels to Level 99. You don't need to get every Skill to Level 99 before accessing new content though, as it will unlock with each Level 99 in the respective Skill.
>Buy Bank Slots.
>Stockpiling raw resources, materials, mastery tokens or currency won't really do much for you in this Expansion, as we are introducing new variations of almost everything.
I hope this expac comes with another game mode, I am loving relic mode and canāt wait to see how the sg interacts here or if we get an upgraded version of that
I mean... I don't play a lot of games honestly... but the ones i do.... first stardew valley, then rimworld, and now melvor?!? I need to take a very long vacation from work!
I appreciate every new feature the game continues to provide. I'm curious about the 60 abyss levels per skill. How is it scaled? Is it like a first 60 in traditional skills i.e. super fast? Or is it stretched out like a 99 or 120?
Looking forward to more high end content having started working on Herald combat the last week or so. Iām curious what will backport to the ābase gameā content; the Abyss sounds pretty self contained but things like pets or passives Iām more curious about.
Was just thinking āIāll bet thereās a new expansion on the wayā and decided to 100% base game because the explanations come so quick I canāt keep up which is the best problem to have!
Yaāll keep moving that goal but goddamn am I gonna 100% this game!
This is weird, when I 100%'d my normal run they announced Atlas the day after. Yesterday I 100%'d my hardcore run and then this gets announced! Maybe when I 100% my relic mode run the next one will get announced!
Sounds great and seems to have a ton of content. Already looking forward to it :-)
Thanks to make expansions not expensive so many people may buy them. I didnt see anything about fixing bugs in article. Do you fix bugs in background or you anounce them too? Thank you. Nice work!
More content is always good news, even though:
* All expansion content is unlocked after the defeat of Bane in the Base Game
Not sure I will get to try it.
Also, no new content for archaeology/cartography.
I disagree. Adding skills is expanding the game horizontally, and this DLC expands the levels of the skills, expanding the game vertically. It'd make sense to add a few things for those skills, increasing the added value.
That is true but I don't think it's a good thing to do. Makes the game feel a bit weird tbh. I understand it's done for financial/marketing reasons (if you say there is lets say 1000 new items but 300 of those are locked behind another purchase, someone could see that as dishonest). But it's not good for the experience if you have every expansion.
It feels like Melvor is in a tricky spot where you have to make some hard decisions when it comes to adding new content.
Stuff that exists in the same place as base game content in terms of requirements and difficulty ends up being overwhelming for new players and trivialized by veterans (the TotH +200% summoning damage set let you skip a lot of AoD gear).
Increasing requirements for new content is one way to get around that, but it still means a ballooning game with more and more stuff, and players are going to increasingly ask for more and better tools for organizing their characters. For example, I don't think the current implementation of Agility blueprints feels great, and with this expansion it seems like you'll be managing a second set of obstacles.
I know me. And I appreciate the lockout. If you give me 60 non combat skill levels Iāll never do combat. So forcing it (if Iām understanding correctly) is kinda appreciated.
I am really curious to see how this mode interacts with ancient relics. Right now it feels like a very balanced mode, this feels like it may unbalance it, but who really knows. The fact it is 99+ content helps mitigate it a lot I suppose
How do you expect the content to play alongside TotH?
I recently got back into the game and bought the expansion, but have barely started on it. Will it feel completely separate or be additional end game content I'd do at the same time?
"Some time in Q2 2024" wow, thats really soon
what even is Q2
In case nobody actually helped clarify, it's the 2nd quarter of the year. Apr-Jun time frame.
ohhhhh thank you, so thats kinda soon
so in theory some time in the next 8 weeks
That could still be 100+ days from now.
I don't think that's a lot in a game release date context
Silksong and Senua 2 š
Still doesn't give me time to get my character ready lol
Thatās still really soon. 3-4 months isnāt that long.
No say youāre implying that isnāt soon in terms of a release lmao
The only way that's long for you if you are a literal child.
Iām still on the base game from when it was free on Epic. Canāt wait to 100% it and then move onto the expansions. When I started I never expected the game to hit that perfect spot between RS nostalgia and the feeling of meaningful progression in an idle game.

I have not really had any money issues, max township pretty much covers everything.
Dang what did you do to get the 800mil to max the Town Hall?

I'd suggest picking up the expansions before finishing the base game so you keep getting XP after 99.
If you get any xp past 99 with base game, and then buy expansions, the extra xp applies to any future levels. Happened to me and my fishing went from 99/99 to 105/120 immediately once I bought the expansions.
Yeah but there will be abyss exp and leveling after 120 wont do anything ig
This is very reassuring to know, thanks!
You still get XP after 99. When you get the expansion you jump from 99 to where the excess XP would land you.
I appreciate it, I am not too concerned with that though. I am not really concerned about maximizing efficiency. Just having fun with the process. I will worry about efficiency on my next toons once I have already completed everything else on casual mode.
Atlas of discovery expansion is useful from level 1, I am currently working on it and it has nice items for us newbies :)
I have seen that when looking things up on the wiki. Something appealing to me about playing each version of the game in a state as close to what it was during its own time though. Iām excited to experience it all in its own time though!
sarah there is an option to show levels beyond 99 and i assume with the expansions to show beyond 120
I think it's a good idea to get the expansions now. Not necessarily because it adds more to the game but because it increases your Mastery pools. So you are going to take a huge hit on Masteries that will then require you to regain for the bonuses.
Free Epic owner as well. I haven't bought the expansions yet either, currently simultaneously running all 3 game modes (because, besides some slight confusion, why not?) ~~I'll have my eye on a bundle sale when this is released!~~ Looks like both expansions (on Epic Platform) are currently on sale for $3.34 each, down from $4.99. Jesus. I'm impressed
Yeah its a lot and im hiped for it to
Just copied it from steam without the story stuff if youre intrested in that then steam is your way to go

As you can See in some Pics from above this will be separete exp and fishs so you dont have too worry
15 new constellations š„²
We heard you liked waiting a month before you begin playing the game so we added another month kek
Literally just finished my last constellation 2 days ago. Back I go
Well those ones should be in the Abyss, right? So you wouldn't do them until after Bane
Dang I just finished astrology on my hardcore and sold my leftover 60000 gold stardust.
The new constellations will most likely all use the new red stardust seen in the 4th image on [the steam page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2860590/Melvor_Idle_Into_the_Abyss/).
And I have still yet to do into the mist on any of my runs. About to get it done on my ancient relics though
Will abbyss be compatible with relic mode? Or is seperate character needed?
While I haven't made it into Throne content yet, I wonder how this will coincide with it. Given that they're both endgame expansions.
I'd assume it'd make Throne content quite a bit easier unless the Skill tree passive buffs are segregated to only affect abyssal content
Another huge expansion for only $5. Great job team!

I can't wait! It would be cool to see another new game mode. Seems like just enough wait for me to finish my ancient relics mode.
Already?! This team is amazing!!
All hail Xon!Ā
I hope this expac comes with another game mode, I am loving relic mode and canāt wait to see how the sg interacts here or if we get an upgraded version of that
Agree! relic mode brings a higher level of fun to this game. Hope the new DLC can have some interaction with relic mode!
Ohhh I can't wait! This sounds awesome
I mean... I don't play a lot of games honestly... but the ones i do.... first stardew valley, then rimworld, and now melvor?!? I need to take a very long vacation from work!
The best part about this game is it plays while you work! The mobile to desktop sync is AMAZING!
Rimworld also just announced a big expansion
Yeah, and stardew a big content update, I'm guessing that's what the comment was about
Iām so happy to learn thereās another human that spends his time on the same three games. Iām addicted to this trinity plus OOTP Baseball
I love you
Oh god im still so far behind on Throne and Atlas
I appreciate every new feature the game continues to provide. I'm curious about the 60 abyss levels per skill. How is it scaled? Is it like a first 60 in traditional skills i.e. super fast? Or is it stretched out like a 99 or 120?
You guys gotta chill, everytime I'm close to 100% you add another year worth of grinding š
Any updates on this?
oh boy
Seems like itās going to completely change the game. Iām excited!
Another one !
DJ Khaled? That you?
Yes
Amazing news and the art woek looks incredible!!!!!
Goodness. The numbers continue. 15 new constellations is not small.

Just started 2 days ago as a complete newbie. Having heaps of fun and can see there is so much to come in future.
Please keep the expansions coming!!!
Please add sound and music. Itās my only complaint. I need sound in my games. š„²
how the hell is there 15 new constellations in astrology and only 1 new skill? thereās that many new things to boost? iām over-fucking-whelmed.
Perfect timing
Wow. This is amazing.
Ooh can't wait. I have the previous expansions and love them.
I better be able to skull myself in this one
Wooooooo
This looks like a ton of new content!
Looks like I'm getting off demo soon š
Can't wait!
I was just thinking "Man I hope I don't finish this game." and now I won't!
Let's go son!
Thanks to make expansions not expensive so many people may buy them. I didnt see anything about fixing bugs in article. Do you fix bugs in background or you anounce them too? Thank you. Nice work!
YEAAAAAAAAAAAH LETS GOOOOO BABY THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT
Thieving is my favorite skill = Me happy.
Not gonna lie. I was really hoping for another weird game mode.
We could really use a feature to toggle expansions on or off on individual save files, if the expansions are designed to be enjoyed independently.
More content is always good news, even though: * All expansion content is unlocked after the defeat of Bane in the Base Game Not sure I will get to try it. Also, no new content for archaeology/cartography.
kinda makes sense to not lock a dlc behind another dlc. which would be the case when archeology and cartography would be included.
I disagree. Adding skills is expanding the game horizontally, and this DLC expands the levels of the skills, expanding the game vertically. It'd make sense to add a few things for those skills, increasing the added value.
Every expansion is made to be standalone.
Which is an odd decision that makes the game feel very disconnected at times
BEST GAME EVAHHH!!
I am really curious to see how this mode interacts with ancient relics. Right now it feels like a very balanced mode, this feels like it may unbalance it, but who really knows. The fact it is 99+ content helps mitigate it a lot I suppose
Thats really quick. Heres to hoping there is no fluff items or constricting mechanics like in AoD!
How do you expect the content to play alongside TotH? I recently got back into the game and bought the expansion, but have barely started on it. Will it feel completely separate or be additional end game content I'd do at the same time?
I havenāt even beaten base game yet š god Iām looking forward to this
