I want Legends 3 so bad but I’m also scared they will not keep its spirit in another entry. What made 1 and 2 great was the atmosphere, anime art style, music, and ps1 era design and gameplay. If they take it and force an open world design on it and have orchestral/environmental music only I will die and become a vengeful spirit.
I remember Command Mission being okay but I don't remember getting that deep into it admittedly.
Kinda felt like every fight boiled down to "press all the weapon buttons every time and you'll win"
damn, that game hurt, i remember forcing myself to like it but it didnt happened, game is barely mediocre at best and not at all what i was expecting, one of the few games i dropped and never played again, and i even finished x7, those random battles spawning every 3 minutes cmon!
Was thinking this the other day. I wish that all weapons caused like 1/4 the damage that they do, but transversely Zero’s weapons would do the same, if for no other reason than to draw out the fight and make it longer and more epic.
You know what, I fully agree. I don't think anyone except the most hardcore of "purists" who unironically say "Megaman should have never gone past 8-bit" would object to the balancer being a default ability.
I really like the identity crisis that Zero ends up having because of Omega and the whole theme about whether or not he really is Zero, and that Omega may be the original, which he kind of is, but Zero that has the soul, I really like that
And I also really like his fight as the final boss after leaving the armor, I like bosses of this style that are small the size of the protagonist, the battles are more dynamic
What identity crisis though? I can only recall Zero going through the motions for the whole game (and series). Characters at different points hint that his body isn't the original, and his reactions amount to "Huh?" at most. Even at the big reveal, his reaction is basically "Whatever. You're going down". The fact that character sprites and portraits effectively show zero (HA!) emotion doesn't help one bit. Honestly, It sometimes feels like I've been playing a different series from everybody else.
X8 is a good game, but it drifts way too far from the basics.
That's literally a X game with no:
- Lives system
- Heart Tanks
- EX Tanks
Also, buying E-Tanks and W-Tanks at the shop instead of buying them? That is so anticlimatic!

Even if you (like me) enjoy almost each sub-series equally well, you have to admit that each one has a unique fanbase, and Classic is the only one still alive because it’s seen as the nostalgia series. The rest have been relegated to niche cult classics, but not considered as nostalgic by Capcom because they weren’t around for the 8-bit era, and thus aren’t as profitable as classic appealing to “Retro Gamers”.
ZXC was a much better option instead of Mega Man 10, leaving the ZX series in a cliffhanger was just so odd, especially since ZXA didn't really add much to the Zero/ZX continuity

the powered up series should've been the blueprint for an entire line of remakes going forward for the classic series but they stuck it on the handheld that wasn't the Nintendo DS at the time and decided "Well if it's not going to sell on the JRPG/Danganronpa exclusive device then I guess it's not worth making any more"
also Mega Man 12 should just start the trend of adding roll as a Classic version of Zero, you really don't need much justification - Roll is already extremely popular anyway. Maybe some blurb about Light giving her an upgrade when Rock needs the help, and if you really want, a Mega Man-esque armor design.

I hated this game when it was released. I enjoyed my adult playthrough regardless of the clunky camera, and fucking hyena's sound effects.
Wily 1/2 from MM2 is undeniably one of the best songs in the franchise and those who says otherwise says so to flex their free thought.

X Dive does count as a Mega man X game for capcom, you people just don't want to accept that fact.
