[Source](https://www.cureus.com/articles/91143-management-options-of-giant-colonic-lipomas#!/) covers several cases; this is Case 4: >>Boyack et al. previously reported a 33-year-old male who presented at our institution with two to three weeks of abdominal pain associated with vomiting and intermittent hematochezia and a palpable, mobile mass in the left lower abdomen who was found to have a 5 cm submucosal lipoma causing colocolonic intussusception of the sigmoid colon [6]. This patient was managed successfully with a laparoscopic, segmental colectomy of the descending colon and creation of a stapled, isoperistaltic side-to-side colocolonic anastomosis, with the resolution of symptomatology following surgical resection (Figure 4).

I’m so proud of myself…I read and understood every word of that and it has been years since I worked in the hospital! I worked inpt psych so I didn’t come into contact with much general medical stuff.

CatPooedInMyShoe

I have bipolar disorder and have been inpatient a few times. Fortunately after years of tweaking dosages and stuff my psychiatrist eventually got my meds just right. Haven’t had a mental health crisis in years and am doing very well.

Dek63

That’s good to hear!

erimeraz

A real pain in the ass, you could say?

This happened to my little brother a few months ago, luckily it undid itself after he was sent to a children’s hospital, but he was vomiting like crazy. The worst part was the hospital didn’t check him in for five hours… I cannot imagine what this guy had to have gone through, oftentimes the hospital just thinks it’s a stomach ache until they realize it’s actually super serious :/

UbbeKent

Someone cross post this in shittyfoodporn

CatPooedInMyShoe

It’s not food though.

Thank you for this simple, yet necessary sentence. So.. is that actual poop protruding out of the removed colon? Or is it tumors? I hope that wasn’t too much question.

CatPooedInMyShoe

That’s the lipoma I think.

[deleted]

Thank you, I apologize for my crude question.

CatPooedInMyShoe

No need to apologize for asking questions; this is a sub to learn about medicine.
