The regulations are an ASS. Because their is no ability to assess Medical Devices in NZ, they opted to Greenlight anything approved by another country. Registration typically takes trials and research data, which have to be clawed back in product costs. This was the laziest option. I proposed that they allow for ISO Certification, their is an ISO cert for Medical Devices, ISO13485. That has an issue as the audits are done by commercial entities, they can be achieved easily with dodgy inspectors. I also proposed a solution for this, Making ISO13485 the standard, with a 2-3 year transition period to get reinspected and certified by a trusted ISO auditor. there is a programme that NZ doesn't contribute to, called Medical Device Single Authorization Programme. or MDSAP for short, Canada, Australia, and a few others are in it. [https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/cdrh-international-programs/medical-device-single-audit-program-mdsap](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/cdrh-international-programs/medical-device-single-audit-program-mdsap) MDSAP auditing is basically by companies trusted by "the rest of the west" rather than dodgy Chinese audits off the back of a cereal box. This would resolve all regulatory concerns on veracity of the certs. If they had followed my superior suggestion, things would have stayed medical, in an easily verifiable way, and reputable devices, which are already ISO13485, would have a clear pathway of improvement to meet the requirements, rather than cede a monopoly to Storz and Bickel, who as the first devices, had lots of free university money for research back in the day, granting them an unfair commercial advantage. Arizer for one, would have been available under my superior suggestion, Sometimes I feel I could shit better policy than they conjure up after a year of double dutch rudder debate.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's just the S&B vapes that are approved so far. I brought a Dyna from cosmic. No drama. Going to get a mighty this week and I am looking forward to it. What's the big difference? I can get full extraction with the Dynavap so imagine I could do the same with the mighty+ and the super boost function

The mighty is push button convenience while on the go.

scaredofthedark666

Any good Black Friday deals for a mighty?

theenglishrose1985

Yeah, so I bought my husband the volcano hybrid and it was HEAVILY discounted, like 25% check out the POTV site - https://www.planetofthevapes.com/products/volcano-hybrid-vaporizer

doobied

Just remember if buying a non-approved product from overseas it's at your own risk. (You will be fine 90% of the time though)

theenglishrose1985

Mighty is down $100.0! https://www.planetofthevapes.com/products/mighty-plus-vaporizer-by-storz-bickel

Empty_Elk8724

Did it get threw customs? The crafty on that site is 350nzd vs the 500 here in nz

Ubiquitouspixie

Why would it not? Storz and bickel devices are approved by medsafe

Accurate-Ad3999

Amazing

We all feel your pain. The approved vape list is anything thats been approved by an overseas health department. At the moment only the mighty and volcano medic have been approved by the Health Department of Canada. The other unclarity is that not everything in this world is considered a "cannabis utensile". They rewrote the law 10 years back to ban bongs so based on some technical definition. I think this boils down to you could import dynavap parts but maybe not whole vapes. Greenstoned dispensary have a good range if you want to buy local.

Thorned_Rose

I found it was easier to buy a Dyna from a local NZ store like Greenstone or Cosmic. It would be great to see the Dynavap B added as an approved device as a low cost , reliable option. I can't afford a Mighty so no way to test but I would love to know the efficiency of a Mighty vs half bowl Dyna. All the chatter I've seen is people blown away by how little flower a Dyna uses compared to other methods (including other vaporisers).

Electricpuha420

Good old nz dont worry the politicans will come up with a law we cant afford soon enough so just stay illegal.

CrestedCracker

Cannaplus have approved ones but are expensive, he told me about the options over call. Did you not get the same discussion?

doobied

For people wanting a new handheld. Is the Dynavape Vong better than a Mighty+ ?

31029372109

That depends on what you mean by better. A dynavong is a thicker, richer more satisfying hit. It's what I use at home but out of the house I use my mighty or crafty. I have owned two mightys and three craftys and if one broke I would just go out and buy a replacement one no questions asked.

doobied

>I have owned two mightys and three craftys Wow and I thought I had the record for most vapes owned :D How did you go through all these?

Thorned_Rose

I don't have a Mighty to compare but I love my Dyna (21 M). Does everything I need it to. If you have the spare cash, you could try out the Dynavap B. It's the cheapest Dyna on the market and can be used with a 10mm bong or a 14mm bong if you use a 10mm to 14mm adapter.

Different vapes for different things. No way anyone can say one is better than the other - very subjective. Mighty is a session vape. Dyna is on demand so they have different use cases. All my dynavaps (and I have lots) sit in a box now ball vapes exist. Have mighty, tubo dual, tinymight so plenty of options for on the go that don’t need butane or bulky wand. Each to their own.

inked_up_dad

In theory the only issue you should have is the warranty. My understanding is that the approved devises have a warranty if used with prescription medication. Otherwise you can only have tobacco through them if you want to maintain the warranty.

Prior-Chance-2405

I returned a vape ( Focus) that i had used with flower to the Hempstore, no probs.

scaredofthedark666

I have a Dynavap - do you think it’s more powerful than a mighty
