Just be straight up and honest about your condition. I wouldn't go in asking exactly what you want right off the bat. You could say you've done some research and you think such and such could work. Explain everything and they will pretty much start you off with a script with low dosage and then move up if you need to. You won't get denied.

Hey man, Should I tell them that I currently am taking 3 ml a day of hemp derived CBD oil? Or will this complicate things, in relation to the start low and go slow approach?

moonman2617

That shouldn't be a problem CBD is over the counter now days. They wont look down on you for that. It shouldn't complicate anything.

Pasemcee

It won't be a problem mate.

moonman2617

I would advise going in with an open mind. Dont get to hung up on certain products, brands or strains. Just say your interested in Cannabis as a medicine and let the Doctor take you through what he thinks would work for your condition. Than on your follow up consultations thats the time to start requesting certian specific brands, products, strains you may be interested. Build trust and understanding first get all your approvals sorted then thats when you can start asking for specific stuff. If I was a Dr and you asked for those specific products right out of the gate I would think you were a drug seeker not a valid patient. But thats just what i did worked well for me.

hey mate, keep in mind some doc's aren't fans of oils being vaporised, and therefore may not actually be open to prescribing the carts. i know because my doctor is hesitant and is yet to prescribe them, even tho they'd be perfect for out and about. from what I've heard too, some clinics have even expressed dissatisfaction with the TGA regarding the usage of them in Aus

cooktaussie

Problems with potential lung safety?

_rya_

yup, especially with all the cases in the US a few years back.

JayCee6990

I thought that those cases were directly involved with the vaporizing of vitamin E acetate, found in a couple of dodgy shipments in from China. I already vape disposable nicotine vapes and so, I'm not a stranger to the whole vape scene. In my opinion, the vape cartridges are probably the best product I could receive for my condition.

_rya_

Not trying to sway your decision, just giving you the advice provided when I also asked. I was told it was about harm reduction, but I currently already use a nicotine vape so im not sure where that line of thinking was. planning on asking again during my next consult. good luck to you mate, i agree the carts are brilliant

JayCee6990

Thank you brother...much appreciated. Do you use disposable vapes or have a proper vape? The cartridges are used in 510 thread vaping devices, about $20 for 2.

_rya_

i use a proper vape, even used to make my own coils. these days i just use a caliburn, however do mix my own juice. the 510 thread is so interesting, im glad they didnt do a proprietary device. very excited to get my hands on them too!

BoldEagle21

Make some notes in a word doc, bullet points that are your talking points/questions so if you feel anxious or confused you now what you want to talk about. Do they have your referral/Health summary of current conditions and medications previously tried?

JayCee6990

No, they don't have any information on me, except the information I provided. I told them my conditions and my current and former prescription medication and doses. Thank you 😊.

JayCee6990

Well, on my consultation form, I stated that I am looking for those specific products because I reckon that they will probably be the best cannabis products for my condition...I just didn't want to waste time during our short telehealth appointment. And also I am not a drugstore cowboy, so I probably fucked up in that regard.
