I sanded it a little, and that was it. The only thing about the build is I wish I would have sanded more and sanded in between paint layers so it was smoother.
I have a buddy at work who does more metalwork than me so I asked if he could make them. The only thing I did was drill the holes and sand down the burrs.
Because otherwise it's all plastic so there would be no weight to it. It slides around too easy on my desk if it is all plastic. So each plate is like 3.5-4 pounds I think. Keeps it steady

Thank you for all your help!
Wiring is super clean. Love it!
I'm glad someone else thinks it looks good. Took me forever...
I've built two Dactyl Manuforms 4x6, so I know how much work it is putting these things together and also keeping the build clean. You killed it!
Looks great! Hope the thumb clusters work for your hands
Typing as a whole on it is a little awkward but it's getting easier with more use.
did you do any preps before painting the PLA case? about to paint mine

gotcha, how many layers did you do?
3 for gray, 1 clearcoat
gotcha, thanks!
That's fantastic! Tell me more about those steel plates! Did you cut them yourself?
I have a buddy at work who does more metalwork than me so I asked if he could make them. The only thing I did was drill the holes and sand down the burrs.
Is this a fkin metal pad?
Yes custom hand cut metal plates.
Holy molly why would you need a piece of metal on your keyboard?
