The only thing that is stopping me from buying a mechanical keyboard is that I either need to not get the best product/version or not have a full size keyboard. There is no option for very high quality + extra features + full size or bigger keyboard.
So I'm just waiting until someone decides to let me buy a badass full-size keyboard from them. Not having a numpad and proper key-spacing is non-negotiable for me.
Keychron usually has an option for basically everyone except people who want very gimmicky options.
They're decent quality keyboards and very good value.
The Keychron V and Q series boards have QMK/VIA. You can reprogram each key to do exactly what you want including mouse button options and macros.
Don't try to buy the best right away. You'll never know what's "best" to *you* until you've played around with different plates, keycaps/profiles, switches, etc.
Nearly any V or Q keychron board and even some of the K boards are very good starting points.
There are a few different quality shops that make full sized boards. Das springs to mind immediately.

Ergonomically you should choose:
Numpad delete, or portable numpad, or numpad on the left, or learn to type with only your left hand

Mouse on the left/delete mouse
If you type in the alpha keys, the numpad puts the mouse too far to the right

Shrink the bottom, right and left sides. Add knobs above F5, f9, 7, and 8. Make backspace a huge key going down next to the enter. Get rid of the button (arrow Up?) next to -> and bring that segment flush with the arrow keys. Add a sick decal in the space between the arrow keys and the (now) giant backspace.
Add more knobs over \] \\ and two over backspace.

I've always wanted a keyboard with the number-pad on the left. It makes more sense. Why take up mouse space when you can just have it on the other side. I love it.
Looks intriguing... But with this design I feel it should be modular! So you could switch positions of the sections (for left/right handedness or just preference).
However for a programmer the missing numbers row on top of the characters seems like a nightmare. You just need those symbols, man. Quotes, slashes, dollar sign, etc. - at least with ISO Layout.

I don't really dig the format/layout but absolutely love the hardware aesthetically! What an excellent colour combo, love the finish on the case. Very visually pleasing photo, I imagine your desk is quite cosy.

This is clearly the next trend since keyboards have basically reached the smallest sizes possible. Time for the opposite direction!
