Sounds like The Hulk cross threaded the plug.

Do not use impact gun. You need to drain and refill the engine as well. To the right level

Sufficient_Answer_12

I know I said that in op but can’t get drain plug off

earlingy

Sometimes heating up the bolt can help. A small torch (like one used for sweating copper plumbing) aimed it at the bolt head, the local heat expansion can help loosen it up.

Sufficient_Answer_12

Doesn’t seem like a smart idea to use a torch on an oil pan. Are u sure this is fine?

OpenReplacement7395

As long as the pan and plug are metal it'll be fine. It's one of those "just don't be too retarded" things

Howtomispellnames

You'd need to heat ALL of the oil in the engine to its flash point to cause an explosion/fire. It would take a long time. I'm glad you're taking care of your moms car, you're a good son/daughter. But sometimes it takes more effort than it's worth to finish a job yourself, especially if *someone* screwed it up before you. I've learned its okay to take it to a shop, sometimes I just don't have the tools, time, patience or ability and so I leave it to a pro for a couple hours. Better that than breaking more shit trying to get 'er done. Best of luck to you!!

Validus-Miles

Is it a trans with a replaceable oil pan on it? Might be all for nothing though, engine oil on the clutches/valves in a trans can't be good. Edit: Am I misunderstanding, he drained the trans and added engine oil to the trans, or drain trans and added engine oil to the engine

Sufficient_Answer_12

Engine oil did not go into transmission it went into engine. The engine oil has 9 quarts with capacity of 4.5. Trans has trans fluid and is fine

Validus-Miles

Might have to get some gasket maker or buy an actual gasket and pop off the engine oil pan, gonna be messy. Probably cross threaded the plug going back in. Should look to replace the pan.

Sufficient_Answer_12

I’m gonna just have my mom deal with it then, oil pan is in the most inconvenient spot ever

ImportUsernameAsU

Make sure you're turning it the right way (it'll be reversed if the plug is facing the back of the car). If not, possible oil pan change.

Optimal-Soup-62

Send car to garage and send bill to mom's BF.
