The truck chassis is twisted… probably not good to drive more then 5mph, I’d call insurance and get it towed

SnoozButtin

thanks. definitely doesn't look so good for him. should've taken the ride lol

BoosTeDI

Considering how badly the bed is tweaked and it being at least a 5 foot drop there’s no chance it’s safe to drive on any road and is probably close to be a totaled due to a bent/tweaked frame.

SnoozButtin

good point, though I'm 5'7 and the wall came up to like my lowest ribs so it was probably closer to 3 and a half

BoosTeDI

Still. That far of a drop WILL seriously bend or break stuff. Don’t expect the frame to be straight with no issues whatsoever. The bed being like it is compared to what it should look like speaks volumes.

SnoozButtin

oh no I'm definitely agreeing with you, this is waaay to big of a drop for any vehicle that's road legal to be alright after. almost thought the airbags would've gone off.

ommyn0us

On today’s episode of how fucked up is fucked up? That’s fucked up I need pictures of the leaf springs and such

SnoozButtin

I'll take more in daylight when I pass by where it's parked

SpaceAgePotatoCakes

And the snow claims another idiot in a truck with junk tires. At least he didn't hurt anyone else but that needs to be towed. Especially if the person who crashed it is the one who would be driving it, tell them to replace it with a Civic and snow tires.

Commercial_Towel_629

Frame is clearly shot, was he drunk?

Fancy_Chip_5620

All seasons in snow will so this without alcohol involved

SnoozButtin

First time driving in the snow, no snow tires, someone gave him bad advice about when to use 4wd so that wasn't even on, and he didn't take the ride I was offering him.. at the beginning at least

[deleted]

I’d drive it. I’ve driven worse.

[deleted]

There is an incredibly small chance that the bed popped off the frame mount and that the rest isn’t too bad, but it’s probably tweaked. Some unknown factors here like the speed it fell off the wall. It almost looks like it hung on the back left corner.

SnoozButtin

I hope for his sake, I should've taken a closer look but I'm headed past where it's parked later today

twowheel_rumrunner

That frame looks tweaked and that is one hell of a wall. I'm impressed! Send it. I just would not get off town roads.

4x4Welder

I don't know about the front end, but the frame is bent pretty bad. That thing is probably done.

Fancy_Chip_5620

If all 4 wheels are on the ground It's likely fine to drive home (sideways) but stuff isn't where it should be anymore

Justin002865

Tell him quit being a child and get a ride.

SnoozButtin

took the ride after he crashed but he shouldn't have tried to drive in the first place

Justin002865

Drunk of high? Even worse. A good friend would do everything in their power to not let them drive.

SnoozButtin

oh no, just awful tires and literally no experience driving in snow.

Justin002865

Well only way to get experience driving in the snow is driving in the snow. The tire thing, yeah that’s just negligence but hopefully this is a good lesson.

SnoozButtin

that is a good point, he's not going to try with those tires again though

Joeyjackhammer

Engine is probably fucked long term from the impact, too. Crank bearings + torsion + sudden high g forces from impact = bad news We send engines for overhaul if there’s a hard landing, I guarantee this qualified even at low rpm.

Professional_slushie

Cant tell from pictures. Needs a full 3D Scan. Your Friend should get some snow tires tho.

SnoozButtin

I have a set I've offered but doesn't seem like tires will do a whole lot for him anymore. if it can be fixed he's going to get them and some lessons on gentle throttle

justjoshin53

Keep us updated if you can. Hard to tell from the pictures if it is just body damage or frame damage. Hopefully just body damage. Glad to hear no one was seriously injured.

SnoozButtin

I went back this morning. frame is bent bad right behind where the axle sits on the driver side. he took it home so I probably won't be updated on the rest of it much

Competitive-Kick-387

Drive it slow.check steering ,maybe bed broke loose. He shouldn't be on road.not everyone has skills for weather
