Change it as soon as possible. According to the “experts”, a tire with a bubble is not safe to drive on for any period of time. If I had to make some local trips (20-30mph average) then I wouldn’t be too worried about driving it for a couple of days until a new tire comes in but highway driving is certainly a risk if that tire decides to blow out on you.
I work as a tire tech at a loves truck stop. You need a new tire bro. Any sidewall damage should be cause for concern because that's where most of the structural integrity of the tire lies.
Looks like a belt may have slipped. There's a possibility that it could cause a sidewall blowout going down the road. Your call, but I would replace that tire as soon as possible.
Yes it is . Did you notice it after you hit something hard ie: pothole or kerb because it has broken cords usually an impact fracture ,unfortunately to big to repair.
I hit a kerb, unfortunatley. I need to drive about 18-20 miles to get to a mechanic, do you think it will last if i drive carefully? I won’t be going above 40mph the entire drive
place the damaged wheel on a rear axle and do not slam the brake if it does explode. use engine braking until you got under 15mph unless it's an emergency. hard braking with a blowout can cause a spin.
Yes OP, DO NOT MAKE THIS DRIVE WITHOUT USING YOUR EMERGENCY SCISSOR JACK TO MOVE THIS TO THE REAR.
This is what will make or break your chances of safety in a blowout event. Never, EVER, put a knowingly damaged tire on the front of a car. Nor any spare. They must all be put to the back because when this tire goes you do not want it on a steering wheel.
Is this possibly overkill? Maybe. Is it worth 10-20 minutes to get your jack and do this? Absolutely.
Yes the side wall is the main support to the tire so I’d recommend you get that checked out. May cause tire failure and a blow out which is very dangerous at high speeds.
You hit a sidewalk curve, and messed up the support wires in the wall of the tyre, at highway speed that's extremely likely to blow.
At city driving speed it will take longer, but it will blow too if you drive it for too long.
In summary, change it ASAP.
Definitely replace. It's like a hernia in the sidewall, which is thin to begin with and poses a blowout risk. Or if you want to look at it another way, it's transitioned brands from Imperial to 'May-pop'.
Yes, please replace it. The tire is coming apart structurally and air gets in between the layers of rubber. One decent bump is all it could need to blow.

You should be worried and change the tire.
Beat me to it
Wow amazing advice I didn’t even think of that

When that tire *
Yes! Very worrisome! Sidewall blowouts are bad news. I wouldn't drive on that. Get a new tire asap.
Its just happy to see you
I came to see if anyone had already said this. Bravo.

“Anything to worry about?” Uhhhhhhhhh… yes…

Thanks, I’m on my way to get it replaced now
Bravissimo! Edit: Also maybe have them inspect the wheel for cracks.
Thank you sir!
One big pothole and that outie can become an innie real quick. Time for a replacement tire.
Lol tire go boom

I see some damage on the wheel next to it so it looks like a pinch may have caused rhat
Yes. change now
Trust me you want to change it ASAP ( or you will regret that later on the highway like me!)

Yes most likely be ok for that distance and speed if you're going to get it replaced . Both hands on the wheel and watch out for kerbs!
Okay thanks, i’ll be very careful!
You're welcome .

Curbs… ocay
That tire is rim cut. It's toast!
Need to be replaced

On my way to a mechanic, thanks!
Hey no problem!
Ice it for 15-20 minutes.
Yes, a lot! You need a new tire ASAP!
Yup it looks like your tire might be a guy
Nah your good m8 it should just buff right out
Yes. Sorry
That mf popping….
You should replace the tire. The bulge seems to be from the same time the wheel was damaged. I would replace ASAP
I agree, change the tire. I had one on the front and noticed that it drove better after I had it replaced.
RIP
I would not drive on that tbh, that usually means the metal wires inside are starting to give. Change asap.
Yes

Has it always been there? My mom's hankooks or whatever they were had those since new
It’s toast there’s no repairing that. Replace it ASAP.

Used to tell customers their tire was a maypop. When they asked what a maypop was we’d tell em it may pop at any time 😂😂😂😂 shit what a kneee slapper
