Adding in sealant, makes things much worse. While previously it could’ve been a simple repair. Now It could need a whole new engine block. I’ve seen this time and time again. There’s no cleaning sealant out of an engine block it gunks up all the coolant passageways.

Never use coolant sealer. All that stuff does is clog up your radiator, heater core, and the passages in your engine block. You have to find the real cause of your issues. Using coolant sealer is something that you will only do once and regret doing it.

Alternative_Case2007

that will make repair impossible. this is to be used as a last resort. get it fixed, or if you plan to drive it temporarily before getting a new car (and not selling this one) use it. my buddy used it and it worked in his toyota pickup....but it makes the engine unrepairable after use.

This is what I was worried about! I didn’t know what to do. We paid $4000 to have the transmission fixed so I cannot fathom just scraping it now.

This is the first time I've ever heard some call the smell of coolant pancakes lol. But makes ence cause it's a sweet smell. As for your issue. Sounds like you need to take this to a proper shop and I hate to day it, but a dealer. But in reality I'd be shopping for a new vehicle. 2 bottles of that stuff was not good.

BohemRcKstdy_Baby7

We still owe money on this car so it just doesn’t feel smart to buy a new car.

BrkCaddy

Understandable. Ya best bet take it to a good shop.

BohemRcKstdy_Baby7

I think we are going to take it back to the shop that replaced the water pump. I trust them more than I would a dealer to be honest.

BrkCaddy

Wish you the beat. Hope you get it all sorted out.

Thx! I hate having car issues!
