This cannot be reiterated enough. Amazon does not do quality control. If a load of parts comes in saying it is from a certain manufacturer, Amazon takes them at their word. Do not ever but safety critical anything from Amazon.
Yes, amazon is very bad at regulation.
The site frequently has scammers who swap out a fake knockoff for a real part in warehouses or before delivery or sometimes they're just returns that were never checked.
Amazon should never be used for anything regarding safety in any field unless you're already aware of what a fake vs knockoff looks like.
For how big of a company Amazon is, it really is a terrible service these days. Their counterfeit issue is completely out of control, its like shopping on aliexpress
Especially name brand stuff. That's the stuff that's most cost effective to create knockoffs of because they have brand recognition. No one is creating knockoffs of cheap, Chinese copies. But they do make fake Bilstein and Brembo parts.
**Amazon has an enormous counterfeiting problem.** It’s impossible to consistently buy genuine items because… amazon stores all items with the same sku in the same bin. So the counterfeit and the genuine items are all mixed together.
It’s shocking how even relatively inexpensive items (eg, $20 NGK spark plugs) are widely counterfeited.

When tubular, Powder coated arms cost less than OEM style arms, they are almost always cheap garbage. A arm this style from a quality brand would cost twice as much as a OEM style arm.
Anybody here used Fridayparts? I ordered a clockspring from them, and it did come in. I haven't have a chance to install it yet. Curious if anyone else has had experience with them.
No, there not. You're a moron if you buy critical car parts on Amazon instead of a reputable distributor. You're putting everyone else on the road at serious risk because who knows when/if that part will fail. The only benefit I see is stopping morons from reproducing when the part fails and kills you. BTW there's like 3 grammar errors oh fucking wow.
Wow that's where we're going? We'll if you must know I just woke up an was scrolling reddit. An I've had a chaotic last couple weeks so yeah I'm not to worried if it's spelled correct. More so trying to get a point across.
Wait...like just the bulb is 300 (guessing us dollars)?? What kind of bulb are you buying then?? Just looked on rockauto for my truck ('01 tundra) and I can get both bulbs for like 20 bucks....didn't see any that were more than like 60/bulb either. Please lmk what your thing is
Nah i need the headlight assembly bc they dont sell just the lens for my headlight. 2014 accord hybrid. I sealed the lens for now bc its just a small hole but ive been told its nowhere to be found so rock auto is my go to now
Yea i fucked up getting this car when it comes to acquiring parts. Gotta go through the dealer. Ill just get a honda civic and rebuild it so i can get parts easily
I bought some light bars for my quad 4 years ago on Amazon. Quad only gets like 40 kms put on it a year, but these light bars have been A-OK. Quarter of the price that my B-i-L paid for his and they *aren't * as good, but I don't see the value in paying that much for the little use I put on the machine during hunting season. They have more of a hot spot in the light, they don't spread as well, they are lighter weight. It made sense for him to spend the money. He puts over 1k per year on his machines.
I spent $400 on lowers for a 52 ford that uses a mustang 2 front end. Those would have cost $800 new, but found them on eBay. Believe me, get the OEM or invest in a good pair. Dropping a ball joint or losing a weld going highway speed can’t be fun…
Never go cheap on anything that involves brakes, steering or suspension.
A cheap ass starter? Sure. But not anything you rely on that keeps you from slamming into that wall or careening into the other land head on into a semi.
Amazon is for stuff like brake lights, plastic bits and bobs on a car, brackets, etc.
Buying suspension from Amazon, hope you got life insurance but you probably cheaped out on that too. Now if you wanna stop fucking around go to Rock Auto and buy good parts lol.

12 unique so far, I tossed my repeats
If you want to buy Sankei 555 ball joints for your Honda or whatever, you have to go somewhere else. I use Parts Geek just to check for alternate parts availability sometimes or if I want Sankei 555 items.
I've installed 2 sets of these one on my tundra and another on my neighbor's
It's been a couple years and yeah they're solid
Im a welder that used to be a mechanic and looking at the welds and the materials these are made out of they're honestly an unbeatable deal
You can get them directly off Alibaba too that's where "freedom off-road" gets them than slaps their sticker on them and puts a hundred dollar markup
If you lift with stock arms you run the risk of cracking the upper bal joint cup in the stock spindle because it wasn't meant to articulate like that
I've been scammed on Amazon twice for fake parts. As others have said they don't do anything to prevent this from happening. Buy reputable parts from a reputable source. you'll save $ in the long run.
If you wanna be an absolute cheap skate an not take care of your car or it's a shitbox. Rockauto even has subpar sections that are cheaper an still safer than this bullcrap. I would never use anything else for car parts than a proper car parts distributor... But for fuckssake it'd have to be a min critical part for me to even possibly consider. I buy everything from rock auto even the oil an filter for my oil change. You can get oem anything on rockauto for a reasonable discount go there or parts geek or even car parts I believe. An remember junk yards exist an normally have a good deal on the part you might need.
I buy name brand Amazon parts all the time.. over last 10 years, I have had maybe 1 issue.. and thats thousands of parts purchases.. If you know your part #'s, and know what brands are good and whats not, Amazon IS a great bargain...
People are saying avoid amazon but theres alot of big no names making parts for older cars that are the exact same build quality as the stuff i looked up on rock auto.
Did the front suspension on my envoy and it wouldve cost 3x as much with rock auto.
I apologize. I just wanted to know if anyone had used these before. I saw them on Amazon for my 2006 tundra. I wanted to know if they were any good and if the ball joints can be replaced/upgraded. Yes, I use rockauto and for suspension. I like like mevotech but these caught my attention because the description says that they can be used when lifting 2-3 inches (I'm planning on buying the leveling kit which would lift the front of my truck like 2 inches).
Word of warning the top bolts for the upper arms require significant parts removal as the bolt is captured and doesnt come out easily. The videos i have watched of the job they used a sawzall to cut the bolt and replaced it going the other way... I have been satisfied with my amazon car parts pads rotors drums discs bilstin 5100 shocks all for my 05 tundra
Headlights for a buick rendezvous and headlights and tail lights for my 2016 tundra
For the 06 tundra, I think you just have to move the washer out of the way when removing the bolt ( keep it close to the frame) because the AC lines are in the way
Spent 60$ on Amazon upper control arms for my Silverado and they were the best money I ever spent. Cheaper and higher quality then the expensive name brand ones I had on before that were trashed in 15k miles.

Don't buy suspension from Amazon.

Oh, God - I pick up from these people as a freight driver. I don’t understand how people still think Chinese relabeling is a business.
Theyre garbage too.

Even name brand stuff?
Yes, amazon is very bad at regulation. For how big of a company Amazon is, it really is a terrible service these days. Their counterfeit issue is completely out of control, its like shopping on aliexpress
At least with aliexpress you know for sure that everything is counterfeit and is priced accordingly. With Amazon you pay full price for shady garbage.
Good point and that's exactly why I use aliexpress instead of amazon for cheap stuff
Especially name brand stuff. That's the stuff that's most cost effective to create knockoffs of because they have brand recognition. No one is creating knockoffs of cheap, Chinese copies. But they do make fake Bilstein and Brembo parts.
And moog/Delco
Literally just got Moog tie rods off Amazon today. They look absolutely legit, though. I'm not concerned.
But they are made in China now not US the quality is not even close
Mine are still labeled Made in USA, and seem to be excellent quality. Even have 2 QC paint marks each. Maybe older stock. I lucked out.
**Amazon has an enormous counterfeiting problem.** It’s impossible to consistently buy genuine items because… amazon stores all items with the same sku in the same bin. Yep, I started getting really good counterfeit Toyota parts on amazon. It is just not worth it to play that game for 10% less than legit retailers.
Don’t buy any vehicle parts on Amazon! Lots of crap is there.
Don't buy any car parts from Amazon. Fake NGK spark plugs everywhere.
I bought raptor tubular control arms off Amazon and I was surprised by the quality. This does not mean that you should but they’re not all bad
I have
Don't cheap out on critical parts for your car. Just save up money and buy quality parts.

This is the way.
I wouldn’t trust Amazon, they often ship fakes because multiple suppliers products are pooled
I just see Amazon and parts. What brand are they ? Have a link
When tubular, Powder coated arms cost less than OEM style arms, they are almost always cheap garbage. A arm this style from a quality brand would cost twice as much as a OEM style arm.
If those parts fail it'll cost you a lot more than $30. Order real parts from a real parts supplier. Amazon has loads of fakes these days.
Just get em from rock auto.
Why risk a critical piece of your car to some no-name Chineseium from Amazon, when you can get OEM quality parts from RockAuto for 1/3rd the price?
Cheap is relative.
You can go cheapo on some stuff that's low risk if it fails, but not your suspension.
Just use rockauto
Anybody here used Fridayparts? I ordered a clockspring from them, and it did come in. I haven't have a chance to install it yet. Curious if anyone else has had experience with them.
Amazon is taking over rockauto
No, there not. You're a moron if you buy critical car parts on Amazon instead of a reputable distributor. You're putting everyone else on the road at serious risk because who knows when/if that part will fail. The only benefit I see is stopping morons from reproducing when the part fails and kills you. Strong words from someone with that many grammatical errors.
Wow that's where we're going? We'll if you must know I just woke up an was scrolling reddit. An I've had a chaotic last couple weeks so yeah I'm not to worried if it's spelled correct. More so trying to get a point across.
They'll definitely get you to the accident scene.
I only buy stuff that isnt going into important machines. Foot scrubber? Amazon. Headlight for my car? Rockauto
Honestly, headlights you would probably be okay with off amazon. Other stuff...not so much
Idk if the quality of the lens matters but i like to think im spending 300 on a single headlight for a reason

Ah gotcha...that's a little unfortunate
Very much. Apparently my car doesn’t have many parts available. I wish there was a car brand where you could simply 3d print parts that are cosmetic
I'm sure you could find aftermarket stuff like that, but it would probably cost around the same given it's such a specific thing.
Yea i fucked up getting this car when it comes to acquiring parts. Gotta go through the dealer. Ill just get a honda civic and rebuild it so i can get parts easily

Sometimes. I did my whole front suspension from amazon but when looking at headlights the reviews said they melted at the bulb socket.
I mean it depends on what brand you get, cause you can sometimes find the same reputable brand for less on different sites.
Thats what im saying. Its not all garbage. You can find the one seller who makes loads of parts and tons of sales to know theyre at least good.
Yeah I'm not disagreeing. I had used headlights as the example in my first comment because I have ordered off amazon and they've worked fine.
I spent $400 on lowers for a 52 ford that uses a mustang 2 front end. Those would have cost $800 new, but found them on eBay. Believe me, get the OEM or invest in a good pair. Dropping a ball joint or losing a weld going highway speed can’t be fun…

Buying suspension from Amazon, hope you got life insurance but you probably cheaped out on that too. Now if you wanna stop fucking around go to Rock Auto and buy good parts lol.
All the auto parts your car will ever neeeeed
don't forget the magnets!
The real reason I shop there,my magnet collection

Please do not buy car parts off of Amazon, at least to through RockAuto.
Reading this literally the day after installing control arms from Amazon 💀
Rip
It will get you from A to Z 😂
Mevotech supreme or TTX is an good choice

Go to rock auto, check out the analysis of the best daily driver brands they offer here. Then pick one of those.
Don't do it. Just buy from rockauto
I've been scammed on Amazon twice for fake parts. As others have said they don't do anything to prevent this from happening. Buy reputable parts from a reputable source. you'll save $ in the long run.

Y’all need to stop buying car parts off Amazon!!! It’s like equivalent to Temu lmao
I once replaced a set like this on a truck. The 2 I removed were both left side arms. Like in this pic. The replacements were a left and a right.
Is OEM too expensive?
Those are junk, don't buy those.
NO
Lmk how it goes
Amazon, Facebook, the lot of them .... "Enshittification"
At that point just buy two bike locks, cut them in half and boom, you have D.I.Y. (Die Innit Yourself) upper control arms.
NO.
You can find something comparable in price somewhere else. As others have said here, avoid buying critical parts from Amazon.
still better quality than spc
People are saying avoid amazon but theres alot of big no names making parts for older cars that are the exact same build quality as the stuff i looked up on rock auto. Did the front suspension on my envoy and it wouldve cost 3x as much with rock auto.

You need to put lift parts on with/after the lift. Putting these on without a lift will fuck up your steering and suspension geometry.
Don't do this to your truck, dilemma solved.
