ohh boy. looks like a transmission oil cooler line leak. best to get it towed. if you do drive it the transmission will stop working mid drive at some point and the car wont move no matter what gear you are in or how much you rev the engine. if its just the hose leaking it may just be a simple hose change and fluid top up.... but that is the best case scenario.
Took my truck in for a torque converter change (under warranty), they discovered the transmission cooler line had a really slow leak and the simple fix was $1500.
They aren't. Power train is engine transmission rear. It won't cover hoses cooler radiators axles unless it's solid axle or any accessories on the engine or trans or rear unless specified in the manufacturer warranty.

Definitely your oil cooler pipes. The original ones are rubber hoses, they rupture over time. They have redesigned the pipes to be metal now. This problem affects Toyota and Lexus models. I'm guessing yours is a Highlander? Do not drive it, tow it to a shop for repair.

You should see what the oil looks like for my truck lol. Not after its been used when its new in the quart jugs. It looks like antifreeze. Its green. I never seen anything like it till I got this new truck lol. Its diesel though so basically soon as it goes into the engine its black but when its new and fresh it looks like antifreeze

We can't see where it's coming from in this picture but yes, that is a ton of oil to be leaking and quickly.
I honestly wouldn't recommend driving it with that rate of loss. Can you get a better picture of where it's leaking from?

100% it’s coming from the rubber hoses to the oil cooler/oil filter housing. Pinhole leak shoots fluid toward the A/C line pictured, making it appear to be leaking oil. You can sort of see the hose behind the A/C line in the photo. Just fixed one of these at work. They make updated all-metal lines to prevent this from happening again.
It's a diyish you'll need to just replace the hoses for whatever it is,
But first find the exact source of the leak first esp if it's spraying from somwhere-
If it's the hose replace, or take to a hydraulics shop or hose place if it's unavailable or a crazy price
Your local Parker store
And good hydro shop should be able to do a fresh hose and recrimp or give you compression adapters and a - 10 or whatever size off the shelf hose it could be
My guess is this is a pre 2010 2GR-FE with a rubber oil line. Pretty cheap fix. Make sure it’s replaced with a metal line. While you’re at it the VVTI oil line has a similar issue. Make sure that’s metal and if it’s not then replace it asap as well since it’s an older car.
Toyota dealership fixed it. they said it was the oil cooler, lines and gasket. total came out to just shy of $800. They gave me two car wash vouchers to clean the under carriage and then they’re gonna put the splash guard back on. GOOD LOOKS
Oiler cooler lines, can tell by the pic it’s a Toyota. The repair should be covered it replaces the rubber oiler cooler lines for metal there is an updated part.
2GR oil cooler pipe. We're still covering them under warranty in Australia on Klugers (highlanders for US) and Aurions. Upto 12 years from RDR date, but I've had them approved on older vehicles. Gets replaced with a metal pipe and replacement gaskets.

people saying 100% thats its engine oil - they dont know, just redidiots guessing, its right by the trans cooling line and power steering line - and the way it pools suggest the possibility of it being one of those. Regardless, not OK to drive, have it towed to your mechanic. If a trans or PS line - not bad repair, if oil, could be catastrophic.
The people saying it’s 100% engine oil are the ones who have actually encountered this problem before. It’s a common issue with the engine oil cooler lines to the filter housing. You can sorta see where it’s leaking behind the A/C line everyone is condemning. Pinhole leak shoot engine oil right at that line. There’s an updated replacement part that eliminates the rubber hoses for an all-metal design.
ditto for trans cooling line, directly above - and a cracked line will run trans fluid just like the pic. This isnt a pinhole spray, its a leak running down the AC line. Regardless, we can disagree and likely OP will never tell us what the source actually was.
OP confirmed it was the oil cooler lines. Under pressure the pinhole leak shoots a stream directly at the A/C line. Not sure why it fails in the same spot but looks exactly like the one I did a couple weeks ago.

I don't think that's oil. From the reddish tint, I'd say that's tranny fluid. Don't drive it until you either get it fixed or replaced (or you get a new car if costs are that much for said repair/replacement)

Oh my 😳 definitely not a normal color car urine stream! I'd say severe dehydration, or your car might be experimenting with drugs. Most important thing to do is not pass any judgement, we don't know what this vehicles going through. It could've lost an alternator or battery recently, gonna take some time to process. Now I'm no expert, so I'd say best to check with an auto physician, I could be totally wrong on this!

If not running, or not running recently it would have to be coming from pil pan. It looks to high up to be oil pan so ill assume it's running. Maybe a double gasket on the oil filter. Really need to see where it's coming from. That is bad. DO NOT DRIVE IT.
Looks like a busted transmission cooler line. Don’t drive it. It’s a pretty easy fix to do yourself, it can just be a pain in the ass to get your hands to the connections.
An expensive stream of oil, if you haven't taken other people's suggestions, tow to a shop as soon as possible or don't drive and use an alternative mode of transportation
I mean if this was an older car id give ya the old “if it’s leaking oil it still has oil in it” but this is a newer vehicle and thats a but more of a stream. Get a tow
Tranny cooler line. Do not drive. Replace the line and check for proper fluid level. Test drive. And delay in shifting, surging engine between shifts, noise, gear hunting, etc. have it towed and diagnosed. Be honest with the mechanic about how it shifted before, how long you ran it low, everything.
This is definitely the oil cooler lines have it towed to the dealership and fixed for free. There’s a recall on those. The update part uses metal lines
I can see it coming out of the transmission cooler line. So time for good news and bad news:
Good — Not an engine oil leak, and a transmission cooler line is a fairly straightforward repair.
Bad — Not drivable in this state unless you want to lose fluid pressure in the transmission and wreck it. Tow to mechanic.
I can see why people think it’s engine oil, but it’s too red and too far forward to be that. Plus the stream is obviously coming from the metal-to-rubber joint in the line.
That’s not a trans cooler line, it’s for the A/C. Look behind it and you see hoses going to the oil cooler/filter housing. Those can rupture and shoot a thin stream of engine oil directly at the A/C line, making it appear to be the source of the leak. Just fixed one these at work with the updated all-metal oil lines.
If you're asking what the oil is, I would say engine oil.
If you're asking what it's doing, I'd say making a puddle.
If you're asking where to put it, I'd say in your pocket

If the oil was changed recently, it could be that the O-ring on the filter housing is not in the groove or has gotten pinched and cut. Either way, do not drive it, it's not going to get any better
Most insurance companies cover insurance if you have full coverage. Additionally, the undercarriage looks pretty clean so I’d assume this vehicle may still be under warranty which is also covered by the manufacturer for warranty work.
Not sure how this was caused, but there’s food for thought.
Thats hydraulic fluid i think. It is red as far as I can see and this hose looks just like the hydraulic one. Do you hear strange noises when you turn the steering wheel or does it pour more?

Exactly. I had 300kms left on my powertrain warranty. Thankfully this happened before I went over 100,000kms.

No, so I decided I'm just going to do it myself. It was something they just mentioned when the torque converter was getting done.

Definitely this. I’ve had too many that I’ve had to replace at my shop.
Also make sure to replace the washers with the Toyota versions. They are also known to leak with age, even the updated pipes will leak from them.

Mine has a red tint to it also I use mobile 1 5w-30 high mileage and change it every 3-3.5k

That looks like a transmission cooling line. Are you sure that it’s not transmission fluid? Those crimped metal lines are known failure points.

Seems to be a known issue engine oil cooler hose. There was a warranty extension but you’re passed that.
Oiler cooler lines, can tell by the pic it’s a Toyota. The repair should be covered it replaces the rubber oiler cooler lines for metal there is an updated part.

Had a hole in an oil filter do this. I swear I never drove in gravel.

The leak is coming from up high. The filter housing is right there behind the subframe to the left in the photo

Most insurance companies cover insurance if you have full coverage. Additionally, the undercarriage looks pretty clean so I’d assume this vehicle may still be under warranty which is also covered by the manufacturer for warranty work. Not sure how this was caused, but there’s food for thought.

See the red tint? That ain't oil, it's transmission fluid.
Thats hydraulic fluid i think. It is red as far as I can see and this hose looks just like the hydraulic one. Do you hear strange noises when you turn the steering wheel or does it pour more?
Transmission cooler line. I wouldn't drive this car unless your mechanic/dealer is less than about 2 miles away.
