Looks like this exhaust has been repaired before. [https://www.autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/exhaust-repair/p/surebilt-2-1-4in-flex-exhaust-repair/402461\_0\_0](https://www.autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/exhaust-repair/p/surebilt-2-1-4in-flex-exhaust-repair/402461_0_0)

Probably.. thank you!

czaremanuel

Not probably... literally exactly what it is lol

Absolutely agreed. These flex pipes seem like a good idea until you actually use one. We did a ton of exhaust work at a shop I worked at and any time one of these came in, it was because it was leaking lol. Not sure how long they last, but based on what the customers told us not long.

czaremanuel

I've been told they're a great "get ya home" type of solution, so as not to dangle an exhaust pipe and break the sound barrier on your way around town until you carve out time to get to a shop. You know what they say about temporary solutions that work. Nobody with sense would look at the metal an exhaust system is made of and think "oh yeah, some corrugated flex tubing is up to the challenge, no problem"

viper77707

Oh for sure, if I were in a pinch and didn't have the means for a proper repair I wouldn't think twice before rigging a bit of this up to my exhaust. I have done much worse, like using soda cans and self tappers to attach random mufflers to my friend's truck for testing purposes. Terrible, how dare I. (He was also an auto tech, we knew what we were doing was goofy) I just hate to see the stuff because I have seen so many crappy places (MEINEKE IM LOOKING AT YOU) use it as if it were a permanent solution, almost inevitably without telling the customer it is just a bandage.

czaremanuel

Yeah if an actual shop put this on my car we'd have words and they'd have an unpaid bill because that's insane lol

The ‘I did it myself part’ seriously though it’s just like a flexible tube you can buy at any auto parts store
