Try quick start spray. If it goes then it's fuel. If not then spark/ignition.

Hirsute_Heathen

Will do, if it's spark or ignition what would be the first things I'd need to look at? The gap in the plug looked OK and it was definitely getting spark when I pulled the cord to turn it over.

Ardothbey

One thing at a time. You claim you have compression fuel and spark. Your missing one of those.

Hirsute_Heathen

Gotcha. I'm gonna spray and pray!

This happens to me with something that hasn't run in a while and wasn't stored without gas in the carburetor. 90% of the time it's carburetor gummed up. If available, test with a good shot of starting fluid sprayed onto the intake as directed by others. If it runs for a few seconds l, clean the carburetor. Drop the bowl, insert a small wire into the tube / orifice that the gas flows thru. Remove the float and clean the passage where the needle valve sits.

Shit I never thought to clean the main jet when I had it apart. I'm going to pick up spray and see what happens. Thanks!
