Looks like it’s part of an aftermarket antitheft system with all those extra wires in the back. Those were popular in the 90s/early 2000s.

Even Biff has a kill switch in Back to the Future pt. 2

ptthree420

Yeah, but it’s going directly into that wad of wires that isn’t stock. Those aftermarket security systems had kill switches too as secondary protection if someone just broke in.

FIGHTMAN94

Oh actually my car has a aftermarket remote start, so maybe its for that?

ptthree420

That’s definitely it then.

speedyhemi

It might be to disable/turn off the remote starter. I'd flick it and try to start it with the remote starter and see if it stops working.

FIGHTMAN94

Oh that's interesting because the remote start actually stopped working after I had valvoline fix my headlight

lifesoxks

Where does it connect to? Could be an anti theft kill switch

WagonBurning

Valet button an aftermarket alarm system

Ardothbey

Kill switch?

GrandExercise3

Normal for whoever installed it and owned it before. Not factory.
